@@MindskarredThere’s actually a very simple glitch with Trip where you can stay super without losing rings. It seems consistent when you have a ceiling just jump, activate, and quickly deactivate the super and you should turn super without losing rings, again super simple
I'm so happy to see press factory come so high up. I really dont understand the hate this level gets. Its so good! It makes you pay attention to the background and act 2 is especially fun to speed through.
Lagoon City gives me more Water Palace vibes than Hydrocity vibes. Maybe due to the level esthetics being similar. I don’t mind though since Water Palace was my favorite stage from Sonic Rush.
and also most if the look of it is just aqua lake from sonic 2 8bit if it was made now, if anyone's telling me its not inspired from that i wouldn't believe it not saying its a bad thing tho, its great actually
Press Factory would be my Number 1 if the music instruments were better. This could be a hot take, but I've heard enough Fan Remixs of Act 1 and 2 that are close to par with Tee Lopes tracks.
Agreed. It’s one of the only classic-like songs in the game I actually like, because it fits with the harsh environment (same with act 2) It’s underrated and kinda overhated tbh
Great video! Finally someone that has good opinions on this game. All of these levels are quite underrated honestly (expect Golden Capital, Fang ruins it lol) My favourite is Lagoon City.
The egg base with the laser sections, if you keep holding to the ground, they'll do a sick pose, and you can pick your direction and blast off and float jusssst out of the next set of lasers if your fast enough. It's so fun the way the momentum comes off every time I play and it keeps you on your toes ❤😊
I've seen many people hate on Egg Fortress Act 2, and I initially did hate it from how many attacks seemed impossible to avoid like the missiles and that I kept replaying it because I kept quitting the final boss to do side content, but it became more fun when I started utilizing the time power and slipped my way through attacks. Maybe if the emerald powers were more moveset evolutions rather than being a power-up menu, I'd have been able to appreciate it sooner. Overall, I'd say Egg Fortress was my favorite in terms of level design, since most of the game felt pretty easy and most of the challenging moments were pretty tedious like the bosses or cluttered level design. Regarding aesthetics, I do think these come across as more generic than Mania's original levels or even the Advance and Rush games. The level themes seem either like old levels with new assets (Bridge Island -> Green Hill with gray rocks, Sand Sanctuary -> Sandopolis with snakes) or have very basic ideas for environments (Speed Jungle feels like a basic jungle, Sky Temple is a basic temple). I've been doing a project involving original Sonic zones, and when imagining zones, either concepts I make or ones given to me by other people (Thanks again, Pup), I focus on what hasn't/has rarely been done in the series. Casino level? What if it's abandoned with broken machinery and attractions, like a Sonic CD "Bad Future" take on the typical Casino. Carnival level? Theme it around Valentine's Day, like every ride has as much romantic set-pieces as the Tunnel of Love. The closest level in this game to what I'd like to see from new zones would probably be either Pinball Carnival which adds a spin to the aesthetic with the horror theme in Act 2, Lagoon City just because I can't think of a visually similar zone, or Cyber Station for the unique concept and presentation, but even these don't feel as outstanding to me as the original stages in Mania, or Advance stages like Music Plant or Toy Kingdom.
Fun list. Golden capital was probably my favorite level and i really enjoyed the boss fight. Cyberstation frustrated the hell out of me, the vibe and the music was cool but i was stuck on thwt mouse part for like 20 minutes.
Granted, Sonic Superstars isn't exactly the best game SEGA made recently, but at least there IS one redeeming quality in that unlike Sonic 4, _it actually gets the physics right._
The Drill in Golden Capitol Zone does nothing for me either because I think a few of set pieces/level gimmicks feel out of place in this game. If this was in Press Factory Zone I think it'd fit a lot better there
11: Sand Sanctuary (I like the snakes, but this is just another sand stage with nothing new) 10: Frozen Base (The aesthetic is cool, but it’s fairly basic is a game full of cool level design! Love the flight tho!) 9: Lagoon City (Its still cool and Act Amy is great, but Act 1 kinda plays on autopilot which isn’t great) 8: Pinball Carnival (Just another carnival themed zone! I love it, but we’ve seen it before!) 7: Sky Temple (Very similar to the zone in Sonic 3, but that’s a really frickin’ good stage) 6: Press Factory (A really cool theme that would’ve been higher had the, you know, design had been better) 5: Golden Capital (The theming of this level is very unique and so, so awesome!) 4: Bridge Island (Surprisingly not like Green Hill, Emerald Hill, or Palm Tree Panic at all!) 3: Speed Jungle (The Bug Lite stages in Crash Bandicoot have always been some of my favorites, plus Act Sonic!) 2: Egg Fortress (The game gets REALLY good and creative near the end of the game! I love space stuff and Act 2 is brilliant!) 1: Cyberstation (Much like Golden Capital, another completely original stage that I love!)
While i don't have a complete ranking i do know my favourite and least favourite. The level i dislike the most is press factory as i find hitting the buttons annoying My favourite is speed jungle since its fast pace, i always like the jungle theme and i enjoy the bosses +sonics bonus level
His alternate name in some countries was already fang the sniper. So they ditched the sniper cuz he doesn't carry a gun. Back as a name just sounds goofy in my opinion. Same with the weasel since. He's not a weasel as far as I know
