In another era Tasker could have been a Wes Welker, a Danny Amendola, a Julian Edelmann.

His time will come. The only other Special Teams player who was of similar skill played for Dallas (Bates ?), so Steve definitely deserves his day in Canton. Just don't know when it will come to pass. The deciding factor may come down to who does the presentation next time Steve is on the Finalist list. Need to have Steve's presentation done by someone who is very familiar with the difference Steve has made to the Bills in the years he played. My suggestion for that meeting would be Jim Kelly. He knows what a difference Steve made and can get that point across to the Selectors Meeting. Having anyone else do it may put the Hall out of reach. God knows Steve deserves the Hall of Fame at any time.

If they can put a punter then Steve deserves to be in.Special teams is 1/3 of the game.

it's frustrating, they are still bypassing him even with a fan vote where he got the highest votes, they disregarded those and put in 15 other guys instead of adding him to make it 16

@matth3708 you have to be older to know what Steve Tasker’s skill set actually was.

Tasker was probably the best pure football player ever to play for the bills. I have no doubt he could have been successful safety also. Didnt start playing WR till later in his career .

Jim kelly wanted tasker to be a regular receiver in the offense. You can see why

Am lucky to have known Steve Tasker personally since 1991. Let me say he is the most phenomenal person. He is also a great athlete. I happen to have been present when Steve scored 62 points in a 2 on 2 basketball game. As good as he was on a football field, Steve Tasker is a husband, Dad, Grandfather, brother and friend. He is the kind of man who only comes to the world once.

I always believed that if Tasker had been 6'2-6'6 with his skill set, he would have an all time great receiver as he would have been used so much more

The Bills' current uniforms are beautiful, but I do miss these 90s Bills unis with the red helmet. Can understand why they moved on from them though.

@Sean Jamieson It was the red helmet. Not many teams rocking a red helmet back then with a contrasting jersey. I actually think it was pretty unique, which is why I liked it. (Not a Bills fan, btw.)

That Marv Levy is in tha HoF and Tasker isn't is the biggest travesty in football. Tasker could've been Buffalo's version of Julian Edelman but no, the "brilliant" coach kept him on special teams. The Bills were successful because Bill Polean loaded them up with superstar players, not because they had a great coach. Levy didn't have the ability to discipline the party animal side of his players like a Ditka or a Parcells. Remember, Levy did nothing in KC before going to the CFL. He wins Grey Cups there, comes to Buffalo, looses four straight Super Bowls. Sorry, I know this is about how unbelievable Steve Tasker was, but I couldn't help it.

Levy was pure garbage who benefitted from the talent on his team.

Buffalo may be the best coaching job in the NFL. You get all the credit when you win and none of the blame when you lose. Sean McClappy currently ruining the legacy of a legendary QB. Pathetic defense doesn't show up for a big game ever.
@t.b.player7102

@MrPhilaCuse Indeed. Unlike most of the people here in Buffalo, I stopped following or watching the Bills over 20 years ago, probably around the time Doug Flutie was let go. They win the division, so what? Win a playoff game, yeah? Win the conference and get to the Super Bowl, big deal. Only if they're up by 30 with 2 minutes left in the Super Bowl itself, they have the ball, and the other team has no timeouts, will I think they just might win. Other than that, they'll always find a way to come back losers.
