When she said "Yes, we mean every trooper!" at the beginning, I was expecting them to go: "This right here, that's Steve. He has a wife and two kids..."
@@optikaught8994 yes, thats true. I wish there is a movie where plot armor doesnt exist. For me, if the plot armor was taken out of the original trilogy movies, the empire wouldve won.
*Sighs, slowly standing up and cracking their knuckles as they prepare to address a tiny fraction of the legends troopers* We've got jump troopers, and arc troopers, magma troopers, swamp troopers, black hole troopers, imperial guard troopers, multiple imperial guard variants, sith troopers(and all their variations), dark troopers, the old republic sith troopers, the old republic trooper troopers..... and thats where I stop before I give into my perfectionist side and list ALLL the trooper variations.
@@rhyssanders9122 you literally clicked on a video about Star Wars, why are you bullying people for talking about star wars in the comments. Get a life and let people have their hobbies smh
Stormtroopers are soldiers part of the Stormtrooper Corps. Therefore no they aren't. But if they want to include clone troopers in a video about Stormtroopers than why not add red guard i guess
Something star wars has always been good at is costume design. Even in the more terrible films of the franchise, that costume design is always on point. People complained about the new stormtrooper when it first came out in episode 7, but i was like, "Dayum that's siiiiick!!!" So much so i bought several lego first order battlepacks just because i wanted that sick armor somehow. xD
@@randomhuman2602 To be fair, this video released before the Incinerator Trooper appeared in The Mandalorian. So they didn't forget them, they just wasn't on the list.
Even better, the imperial royals were probably a helluva lot better than the "elite" praetorians. One of them would enter a warfield and the tide would turn. If they ganged up on Vader, I doubt that it would be an fight for him. But the Praetorians just got murdered by Kylo Ren (who's weaker than vader) and Rey (who just discovered her force powers)
I like how you see the evolution of the clones to the original trilogy storm troopers, especially in episode 3, you can see the changes and how it became the original trilogy stormtrooper
Charlie Kelly Early-Imperial Stormtroopers were clones (although I believe Stormtrooper commissioned officers have always been humans). Then they began to replaced by humans, the Empire initiated massive recruitment drives throughout the galaxy. Non-humans were even allowed into the Stormtrooper Corps towards the end of the Empire.
One of the reasons why they did it was because of the secret clone army made in kamino. Basically the kamino people were fearing palpatine and rebel against him, so they created a new clone army and fought the early imperial stormtroopers.
grimmriffer truly. I LOVED it the first time in theatres. Then I watched it again and was like, actually a lot of this makes no sense. Disappearing weapons, people standing still not attacking. Flawed combat logic. Still pretty but hard not to notice the issues
The one on the right sounds like someone describing a costume they didn't design, using artist language and stating the obvious. The old dude sounds like an Apple representative trying to defend and dance around the fact that they made minimal changes to the new design(s) and how sleek they are.
yep, except for its AT-AT .... thats what they said in 1983, when we saw the first trilogy, so i reckon thats canon, not the 80-80 way you millenials invented
20:53 How come we didn't see these type of Stormtroopers in The Rise of Skywalker, or did i not look closely at them in the movie? (Btw i count "The Sequel Trilogy" as non canon, except for "The Mandalorian")
I mean its a bit of both. I suppose theyre technically supposed to be called A-T-A-T, but seeing as "at," is a word already, it makes sense for people, in universe, to call it an at at, but an AT-ST, AT-RT, AT-TE, AT-TT, etc. cant be shortened the same way, so the technical name is used. Also its worth mentioning that LA-AT gunships used during the clone wars are called "Lats," in universe.
@@xtriplexvisionx they did not even name half of the ones that are in the movies not to mention they get the unit names wrong for example they 501st were called the 501st legion not what they say also they missed each and every arc trooper yes they are in the movie you just need to look for them in them plus they said the troopers in solo were stormtroopers no they were imperial army troopers if people on the crews cant get the dam names of things right then there is no hope of star wars returning to glory
@@samlewis3555 At least they're making his story more badass with The Mandalorian. The new trilogy made all the villains super weak. They killed off Snoke like it was nothing, made Kylo an emo that eventually becomes the good guy (I think? I honestly can't remember) and kill off Captain Phasma the first time she battles. They never take any time to show how badass the villains are in order to make you feel like it'll be tough/impossible to beat them. This is especially beneficial, since it gives more gravity and impact when the good guy succeeds.
In Phase 1 designs the clones weren't really affiliated with individual legions, just the plane basic, but as new legions were made with their synthetic colours, such as Anakin's 501st Legion with the blue, the ranks weren't really shown.
"AT-RT driver is really suited for his environment with his camouflage look." Yes... a perfect way to hide himself as he rides on the back of a clunky two-legged all-terrain blaster-firing killing machine.
well at-least it isn't Commieflage...(sorry poor capitalism vs communism joke.... although socialism really is a good fair balance since everyone ends up in debt to a few people if the capitalism is allowed to turn into pure chaos) even atop a walking murder machine camouflage has its purpose if people are busy shooting at the metal death walkers and not the pilot, its a win win for the pilot until he can hide or get out or flat out win the combat lol, ideally avoided the inevitable horrors of getting shot and leaving a pilot-less vehicle just sitting their like a tempting target to hijack or knock over like cow tipping with death machines for lawls
My brain: Imperial guards dressed in red because of red being historically an imperial/royal color... -Actually due to George's love for hot rods Okay then!
Well Purple historically in europe was the most royal/imperial colour before you get industrialisation due to it being one of the rarest and most expensive dyes. Would of liked to see some dark purple designs at some point
Marcus McCabe I think red still makes more sense given George’s affinity for samurai culture and movies, considering red is the definitive color of the empire in China.
When I saw the sithtrooper in the video I was thinking: So he is something like the royal guards, something special. Next they show the jetpack variant of a Sithtrooper and I am thinking: WHY?
I wish that would come up in the series. Like if they ever did a transitional series when the Empire took over. And some of the earlier volunteer/recruits had the same complaints. Meanwhile officers didn't have to worry about that but are More vulnerable to getting shot lol
Except the cardinals in this situation would moreso be the equivalent of the Moffs in the Empire, with the Swiss Guard being the counterparts to the Imperial Guard.
@Gammy Leddack Are you being genuine? Sometime THIS March we are getting shore troopers. Not only are we getting that, but they have been adding so much content. For having such a small team they're doing quite well.
it's actually canon that it's pronounced At-At, not ay tee ay tee. "Lucasfilm PR confirmed back in 2010 the proper way of saying it as how it’s spelled: “AT-AT.” Here's a full video with more dorksideoftheforce.com/2016/07/05/nerdist-proves-star-wars-at-at-is-pronounced-at-at/
Can't wait for the "Hill Troopers", the "Valley Troopers". the "Urban Trooper", the "Sauna Trooper" and especially the "I'm going to the shop to buy some cigarettes and won't come back Trooper".
"Yeah so Clive.. I know we have the snow troopers and the sand trooper armour. But what about... if they were in a cold desert and suddenly needed to jump really high?" "Jump really high? "Yeah" "In a desert?" "...Yeah, could happen" "Wtf Bob, how many designs does the empire need??!"
Darth Vader: "I need someone that is able to kill children and fight against jedi knights." Fashion Designer: "Oh sweetheart, i love it! I have the perfect idea, darling"
When the prequel trilogy first came out on VHS, non-HD formats(Tv). The image held up pretty good. But play the DVD through a Blu ray on a HD monitor/TV. Yeah it looks cartoony.
@@evgeniydeus8137 Well yes the creator said it was pronounced JIF, it's also said that way here. But unlike AT AT, both are accepted by the authority on the subject, in this case the Oxford Dictionary. As you can say it both ways, as G' does get the J sound in some words. AT AT on the other hand does not have anyone with authority that say's it's A-T-A-T, they are all in line and say it's wrong.
“Tod is a veteran, he’s been at it for years and still going strong. Oh and there’s Connor, he’s a rookie around here. I heard he is only in it for the money. Yeah, that’s Nelson, he’s a bit of a loser.”
That’s the whole history of Star Wars. It’s not a bad thing. Lucas always meant for Star Wars to be for kids and the toy line is what kept interest to make the second movie (episode V)
Richard Sutton Literally every single clone and stormtrooper mentioned in this video has been released as a lego minifigure with the exception of the at rt driver pilot and the galactic marine. However, Those have probably been released as action figures.
Jonah S. The guy on the left designed almost all the armored characters, droids and vehicles for the Prequels and did a lot for the Sequels too. He made the battle droids. Its nuts to me that someone just made up the battle droids one day.
