He gave short contracts to Miami and Cavs the second time around to pressure FO/Owners. We can say that the players and coaches he asked to be signed are not the best but it's reasonable to not trust many front office and owners in general in NBA. There are too many teams in the league that are badly ran and no real plan other than hoping to get a generational talent. There are also many promising players who were never properly developed and never reached their star potential.
