The new editions of the Marv Wolfman & George Perez stories are more complete and do have better binding (and totally different covers). Which wouldn't have been necessary if DC did it right the first time. A lot of people upgraded. The cuts in the video panning over the artwork is a really nice touch for this series.
I need to start buying some DC omnis. I commented on your channel a few weeks ago when you got your Punisher MAX omni to ask you some questions about InStockTrades. At that point, I only owned "Alias". Now, I own 7 Marvel Omnibus Editions including Alias, Miller's Daredevil Companion, Punisher MAX, Uncanny Avengers, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Fantastic Four Volume 1 (1960s). A tiny collection, but a pretty good start considering I just found out about these a little over a month ago, and your channel has really helped along the way! Without learning of InStockTrades from you, I'd probably be spending the full $120 on the upcoming Runaways Omni. So thanks for guiding a brand new omnibus collector! Maybe one day (a very long time from now) I can have a personal library as well)! Keep up the great work! Love the channel!
Taylor Tano the first omnibus I bought was teen titans by Geoff Johns which is a great read even though it was thicc with two c’s and it was pretty pricey I still loved the hell out of it and I still do even though it has seen better days so if you should start with any dc omni I would start with that one and I guarantee you will love it but I would suggest to read up on some of the essential characters in the book beforehand and I would also suggest to check out the three part mini series titans/young justice graduation day just to get the idea of what is really happening but if you don’t feel like reading any teen titans just get the doom patrol omni which is equally as pricey and thick as the teen titans omni but it is written by gran Morrison so you can’t go wrong there
Yep. Gotta love Perez art. I read the first four or five years of that run when it came out. It was fun. There was also a Teen Titans/X-Men crossover one-shot that came out back then that was okay.
Reprint binding is way better. Binding isn’t glued to the spine. But my binding for vol. 1 is actually pulling away from the cover a little bit so I gots to be careful with it.
Funny intro homie. lol! Not a DC fan, but had to thumb up my dude and add a viewing. Did you see the trailer for the new Teen Titan GO to the Movies? I’ll take my little daughter to check it out when it drops. Looks hilarious. Edit: the fuck up with bullshit half assed spine! LMAO
I got a question i brought the outsiders the darker side of justice it collects graduation day 1-3 , secret files #1 and outsiders 1-7 do I have what I need to jump into teen titans 2003 because I just brought the omnibus for $60 on Amazon since it's a great deal at the moment the only thing I know is graduation day is a little important for johns run
Have you thought about doing an "every omnibus ever" type video for an author or artist? Might be interesting to see an Every Grant Morisson Omnibus or some other creator
Can you PLEASE just show me the list of contents! It's impossible to find videos that do that! I know they contain Teen Titans books, but I want to know the ORDER they're in.
loved the original teen titans omnibus'( Is vol.4 out yet? book depository have it as still to be released.). The jeff johns omnibus is massive & a great read. Get them all!!! keep up the great reviews mintie(minties are lollies in australia)&look forward to the wonder woman review.
Hey Gem, The George Perez Titans run IMO is a turning point for DC Comics, during this time John Bryne's X-Men was super hot and nobody cared about DC... and then Perez did an X-Men annual and everybody noticed Perez was just as good if not better then Bryne. So a lot of Marvel fans starting buying there first DC books following Perez on Titans. Up until this point there was this unwritten rule that you either supported Marvel or DC and not both as is was a sort of betrayal. I remember people would hide DC books under marvel books when paying at the till, lol. SO it was Perez on Titans that opened that door and slowly the rule of you can only support one company went away. That pretty impressive for an Artist/Writer to have that kind of impact during the bronze age.
Gem Mint Collectibles Ok cool I figured that’s what you used, I been looking on there a lot lately since I always hear you talk about them in the videos. I actually just copped that Silver Age Flash vol 3 omnibus from them that just released
It's unusual that as a completionist you didn't upgrade to the new editions of Perez' omnibuses. If the 4th volume did come out, you would have bought it in spite of the mismatch in the spines and in the contents? I mean, you did buy the new edition of Spidey that had exact same content and design.
