Y'know, for an ancient being who thought modern phone technology is pathetic, you would think that they would come up with a better connection to their host rather than a big obvious dangling wire that screams "cut me".
Let's not forget that Dacry was lucky enought that when they invade Earht the US military din't went exterminatus on them inmediatly. Moderm day weapons are "Pathetic technology" until you have a High caliber machine gun firing expasive ammo at you. O and nuclear weapons are a thing along with the MOAB. And yes having a body that depends on a cable conection is really stupid.
yeah !! dudes there acting like they are so advanced and can't even figure out non wire connection, not sure how they did not realize that big important wire wasn't going to get cut in a fight
Throughput. Cable connections are faster than Wifi and can transmit information more densely, especially things like fiber optics. I reckon that transmitting the collective consciousnesses of multiple beings in real-time is rather data intensive.
Marcy is so iconic that her mannerisms infected the Core. I also like to think that Marcy's influence made the Core clutch the villain ball hard enough to leave themselves open to being foiled.
Darcy is a good villain still gets straight to the point. Even though they were defeated by their wire which shouldn’t surprise me I mean the greatest amphibia minds probably thought “oh we can keep the wire out there is no likely chance it will get cut off” because they were so confident that they didn’t have to worry about it. Plus they inherited some of Marcy’s personality traits figured that they’d still have her clumsiness that gave disadvantage to them.
Zako Ze Wacko i dont think that would work cause darcy and andrias said the core was preserved for “all eternity” so i think it would be too much to upload by bluetooth or any wireless connections
I like how their personality pretty much displays the arrogance they have from being praised as the smartest minds of Amphibia. It's pretty much what her downfall is
I really love how the core kind of just goes along with Marcy's eccentricities. They're not your typical villain possessing a good person where they fight the good habits/parts of their host only to like those parts later, they just come out the gate vibing with Marcy's taste of desserts and possible idea of turning the Earth invasion into an RTS game😂
For an ancient being comprised of the greatest minds of Amphibia that has supposedly lived for thousands of years, the Core never thought of a way to create a wireless connection with the castle...
Does anyone else notice that under the twisted/ edited version of Marcy’s voice, there is a very deep voice? It’s really most noticeable when she’s mad. But it’s almost like all of the voices of each past king join together to speak. Correct me if I’m wrong
Darcy is a perfect counterpart to Andrias as a villain. A big newt that looks pretty jolly at first vs a scrawny girl that looks terrifying right off the bat. A fun-loving king that only resorts to violence as a last resort, vs and a monster that finds the fun of life IN violence. A well-meaning guy who’s weakness is his lingering compassion, vs a tyrant who’s weakness is being devoid of compassion.
I noticed that in The Core and The King, Darcy appears as more goofy and somewhat... "less" antagonistic towards Andrias. And idk, adorable? Like when she was sleeping next to the fire place, she looked so innocent. And in The Beggining Of The End, she's pretty ruthless against the squad, especially Anne and Sasha. Like how she rubbed Anne being "dumb" into her face and all. Also acts rather mean towards Andrias (Poor guy can't catch a break lol-). And in 'All in' she's straight up in pysco mode. I love how as things get more intense, the Core slowly changes to match the atmosphere of the situation. That's pretty neat!
I think it's because at the start, Marcy was happy and the others of the calamity trio were seperated so everything was going according to plan but once they started fighting back, the plan was in danger, and they couldn't afford to relax In All In, they were seeing everything they had done slip through their fingers, and were panicking to the highest degree
@@strawber3seal_77 oh, hey! It parallels Marcy! Content: Marcy in Newtopia A little serious: marcy desperately trying to keep Sasha, Anne, and her together Chaotic: Marcy witnessing her fantasy world crumble to dust in True Colors
I noticed that throughout the season, Darcy's eyes changed from orange-yellow to orange to orangey red to bright red. Cool detail. It's as if the Core is getting madder by the episodes
Honestly looking back now Darcy herself isn’t scary more creepy but I’m sure most of us only thought they were scary cause of the fact a bunch of dead Amphibians were using Marcy’a body as a vessel.
I feel that Darcy is representing Marcy’s worst self, using her intelligence to make others feel bad. Almost what Anne was fearing in season 2 with marcy.
The Core's chilling, calculating persona and Marcy's voice (credit to Haley Tju) and quirks blended well to make a great antagonist. Ms. Tju should definitely play more villains in future roles.
Gotta wonder how the core just decides to start imitating Marcy. Like "Okay, all in favor of of installing a gamer mouse and keyboard for our robot army raise your hand." "Is this really necessary?" "Shut up, those Strategy Games Marcy played look fun."
ah yes the sweet smell of "spoiling yourself the entire series you didnt watch, but you might start watching because of bad-ass villain you just saw in the finale" in the dead of the night...
She told Anne in true colors "I gave you this, I gave you everything! I mean look at sprig" The core is just Marcy if she went down a violent manipulative path, like Sasha but she redeemed herself in the end.
Sad they only appeared in 5 episodes -Olivia and yunan -S3 E7 -A froggy little christmas S3 E10 i think -The core and the king -S3 E14 -The beggining of the end -S3 E16 -All in -S3 E17 But then again, we needed marcy for the finale soo
@@BrandonJames2016 nahh I didn't like marcy much, but OMG darcy was THE BEST. I actually found the whole core thing a bit annoying, and the same with marcy, but idk what's special about darcy.
@@cardboard8295 I Iiked Darcy too but they were so underdeveloped but the amount of time we got from them was cool especially Darcy fighting with a scythe one of my favorite weapons used from villains. Plus I kinda laughed when they were all like “Oops looks like he’s disarmed, get it disarmed HAHAHAHA” like ugh the facial expressions during that scene amazing.
@@cardboard8295 maybe if the season had a few more episodes like 2-3 then Darcy could’ve had a bit more development. Honestly tho they aren’t as strong as I thought they be well ig technically it’s the core fighting and considering what they did to the moon for the finale we will see what it’s actually capable of but Rip Darcy.
This show does something not many other shows do. It points out that a friendship is toxic. Most shows will skip past that and act like everythings good, but Amphibia does something different, which makes it better!
Haley Tju doesn't get enough credit for her performance. She always seems typecast as the quirky, lovable goofball, but as Darcy, she convincingly plays a maniacal, sadistic overlord.
Darcy started with a bang, and ended with a bang. It was a relief to see Marcy back and in control of her body again; but gotta admit, Darcy was so heckin' cool!
I wondered if they'd go the alternate route where "Darcy" becomes a unique entity due to the merger of Marcy and the Core. Like, the core and Marcy are Darcy, but Darcy is or ends up becoming more than the sum of their parts. An individual of many. A legion of one, so to speak. I still love this character though.
Darcy: I wanna take over to the universe!!!!! >:b Also darcy: king andrius Come on!!!!, I wanna learn these human games in the containment of technology!!!!!! :0
3:46 With the context of Marcy being a weeb and Darcy wielding a scythe in that manner made me think: *"Oh great, that blasted Core found out about Soul Eater, didn't they?"*
I would love a video where someone filters out Marcy’s voice and we hear The Core saying the lines. Especially the “Seems like we’re not the only ones that need to let go of old memories” line. At the end of that line you can hear The Core’s voice kinda take over.
I love Darcy she 1 of the best villains Disney has to offer, if not cartoon history. The build-up from her debut to demise. A cold calculating psycho composed of Amphibia's "greatest" minds or most genocidal smart people. Brings chill down my spine cause she outsmarted Anne and Sasha, she could've won easily. But she wasn't smart to use bluetooth. She made the most out of what little time she had and became an iconic villain. She may not have godly powers but is intelligent with tech. Also 1 detail I love about Darcy is her voice, sure its the basic scary voice, but you can a deeper voice in back behind the effects. Its more prominent when she's angry or serious, but slightly changes in other scenes ephasizing that fact she is a bunch of minds super glued together. tldr: stan Darcy (just not the genocide attempt)
My favorite antagonist of all time. The twisted origins with hundreds of years of intelligence and wit tied into a chaotic, clumsy little package of a host. Done perfectly, they can be both intimidating and addicting to watch, especially with such a cool design. Combined with the unique behaviors, animated movements/body language, and facial expressions, we get a villain so fascinating we almost wish they'd won in the end just to see more of them. Also, a fun little quote I came up with while writing this: They say the eyes are the window to the soul... but what happens when you look into them and hundreds more stare back?
I like how Darcy's eye pupils in Olivia and Yunan were white until the Core and the king her eye pupil are gray-ish black but when Darcy introduces herself to Anne and Sasha her eye pupils are white again
given how dark amphibia is I almost wish it had a higher age rating just so there was a little more freedom with what they could do and besides if I were the one rating this show I would've given it a higher rating purely for the more sinister lines that darcy delivers such as "We look forward to dissecting you, alive" amongst others
Can we pweese have a - bill ciper posessing Marcy and coming across Darcy and just all out Darcy "woah, we worried you were gonna be a square like marcy, boy were we wrong. -- geeze, you're character sure is two dimensional. Oops, sorry, we forgot. It's rude to make flat jokes. ---" Bill: oh my god- you're psychotic! I love it!
1:53 Darcy: Ahhhhhh the famous anne dumber then a bag of rocks. All in: Darcy dies all because of the cord being cut that's even dumber then dumbness itself
