A funny thing. In Eyes of Heavens alot of the other Jojo's comment in win quotes that Jonathan is super strong and say something along the lines of 'wonder how tough he would be with a stand?' or 'glad he doesn't have a stand'.
Dio is like that kid who challenges you to a video game saying "I'm the best, 1v1 me bro" and then when you school his ass he cries when you didn't let him win
That is Dio's Character. He wants to be the best, he wants to be rich, and he wants to rule. He has a god complex. From the beginning he just wanted the Prestige and Money the Joestars had.
JoJo World Order ha, and you know what's funny? If he had just been kind and gentlemanly, the joestars would've treated him as one of their own and he would've had everything and not gotten rekt so much
I just realized that Jonathan cut through Dio's skull The sword had hamon in it but when you consider that Star Platinum needed to punch really hard to break Dio's skull, that's really impressive
That is because the hamon literally melts the vampire's cells, enabling the sword to literally cut Dio like butter. Star Platinum, on the other hand, only had his fists and an insane amount of force.
Wasn't it said in a later part that destroying a vampires brain is the only way to kill it? If so dio would've died in part one since Jonathan kinda... cut him in half.
*Final attack between Dio and Jonathan* : Dio blocked i- oh wait, nevermind. *Final attack between DIO and Jotaro* : DIO blocked i- oh wait nevermind. You'd think he would stop pissing of Joestars.
John C Wooding I’ve always thought that the reason DIO was so nonchalant and condescending in part 3 is that the only thing he was thinking was “Jonathan would’ve do it better”, and didn’t respect that Jotaro had lived up to the strength and courage of the original JoJo.
Funny how Jonathan "was" the most plain and boring character in the JoJo franchise, because he is just a plain heroic, strong action hero. But these days these kinds of characters are so rare, that Jonathan is an actually refreshing character
I know part 1 is many peoples least favorite(episodes 4-7 can be forgotten) but stuff like this makes it still much better than many other shows. This video was genuinely cathartic to watch and Jonathan is such a good boy.
I'd like to note that Jonathan says "DIO! I'll beat you until you cry!" and not "until you bleed!" as he refuses to inflict serious injury on his brother.
Man, they sure don't make 'em like this anymore. At least, not in western media. I love the subtle interactions you get whenever Jonathan fights Dio. It is never outright stated, but you can tell Dio is more of a cunning combatant, he plans the fights and his moves ahead and executes them with incredible speed and ruthlessness. Yes, his ego can sometimes get in the way, but the main reason he kept losing to Jonathan is that he simply didn't account for what a beefy tank of a man Jonathan is, the first Jojo was dummy thicc and when his heart was into it and he was fighting for real, there was NO stopping him. Dio could never take him head on.
To hear a guy get described as dummy thicc is just plain weird and hilarious to me, especially when said in such a serious way. 😂 Thanks for the laugh. 😂
Joseph was able to utilize Hamon quite well and he’s basically the most laziest Hamon user. I dread to see what Jonathan would’ve been able to use out of his stand.
Johnathan is the kind of guy who everyone even enemies respect, not only is he noble, humble, strong, kind, compassionate he is also respectful of others even his enemies. He is truly the greatest man in all of jojo.
Dio in Phantom Blood: Get's nearly split in half, impaled inside a burning house, and lives with only a head Dio in Stardust Crusaders: Get's punched in the leg and dies
The Virgin Jotaro: flinches in pain from a lighter to the pinky The *Chad* Jonathan: lights entire fist on fire while showing no pain to punch a vampire
Josuke: "Guys, I can explain." Jotaro: "Your stand can heal and beat people?! My stand can only beat people!" Joseph: "Your stand can beat people up?! My stand is a tentacle spirit camera!" Jonathan: "You guys need stands?"
jotaro and josuke would both rinse jonathan. hamon has literally nothing on stand users. they didnt "need" stands if their enemies didnt also have them. dio didnt have a stand when jonathan fought him, and if he did, dio wouldve crushed him immediately
The way he sees it, it's not Hamon that kicked his ass, it's Jonathan fucking Joestar. And in a way he's right. Jonathan has been repeatedly kicking his ass BEFORE Hamon, and he kicked Dio's ass in the mansion WITHOUT Hamon, while Dio was in VAMPIRE FORM. Jonathan got Hamon and then nearly destroyed him again, but Dio defeated other Hamon users before him. Dio doesn't respect Hamon, he respects Jonathan.
Jimmysticks Yeah, that is a fair point, especially since the most damage any other Hamon user could do to Dio was the human equivalent of sand in the eye. I guess from his perspective, Hamon is a nuisance, but Jonathan is a wrecking ball.
Jimmysticks Although you know what would be interesting? Pt. 3 DIO dealing with UV flashlights. That tech did some fine work on the Aztec Gods of Fitness, so with 40 years of progress, it'd be pretty hard for DIO to react to the speed of light as it tears through his flesh.
Hamon - making western women age like asian women since at least 1938. And giving Joseph a good reason to feel really disgusted with himself. I can't really blame him, but poor guy.
Jotaro is actually equal to Joseph according to their official stats from Weekly Shonen Jump #13 (1997). Jonathan is the only one with an A in Physical Strength, while Joseph & Jotaro got a B, and Josuke & Giorno had a C.
No, not even Joseph comes close, you can say Jonathan was built different, his strength surpassed even of that huge vampire (i forgot his name, who was the partner of that another vampire who had sword luck)
People say that p1 was the most boring but it was actually pretty cool like Jonathan did everything he could to beat dio without the help of a stand and he came really close so props to Jonathan
And then Dio got a Stand.. Jonathan would have never beaten Dio if he had The World from the beginning. Sure Jonathan was powerful but Dio back then was far weaker and didnt have much time to explore his new Vampire powers either (remember that Jonathan got massive powerboost from Zeppeli on top of all that).
"jOnAtHaN lOsT" My ass he did. First he beat down Dio so hard that the latter kept his act straight for about a decade, then he beat Dio within an hour of his becoming a vampire while having no Hamon training. Then he reduced Dio to a head. And even in death he kept Dio submerged for nearly a century
He’s also the one who finished off DIO for good, he was in part three, just more purple and had less clothing. I believe they also called him star platinum.
one piece fan I can tell you’re new to jojo trust me it’s so amazing bro once you get into it’s hard to stop, the only thing that’s weird about it is that it’s mega sus sometimes.
I love how when Jonathan is fighting Vampire Dio, Instead of running away he thinks "I can't let him kill another person, even if he kills me!" Lesson learned: Don't mess with a gentleman.
@@WatchKid12 jonathan was thinking about diying to stop Dio with himself in the plan :/ and Dio was believing with his new powers he can win against jonathan very easily, so i don't see plot armor. Only a man pushing himself to the limit for saving the world.
His delivery on "SUNLIGHTO YELLOW, OVVVERRRDRRIVVVUUUUU" weirdly always gives me chills Look at the effort this man goes through to see his duty fufilled
he actually survived, but only his body without the head. Dio took it. The world its actually jonathan's stand but since dio was using his body, he used it like it was his own
If Dio were a 21st century boi he would write offensive posts on Twitter, bully kids at school and would smoke weed, or drink alcoholic drinks without his parents knowing
Have you seen the way that man's built tho he would survive the fall from the balcony like he was described as a mountain man alongside with Jotaro (Jotaro is like the Mountain man of Mountain men the mf is superhuman)
For my entire life I've always hated spoilers. Hated people who shared them and hated people who casually brought them up in conversations. That being said Dio is the only character in my entire life whos death I had to look up on RU-vid after just 3 episodes of season 1 of JoJo
holy fuck to this day I still cannot stop laughing at when Johnathan just picked Dios ass up and threw him down those stairs like he was a piece of fucking paper, lol
He wasn't as developed as the others but he's still my favorite Jojo for that reason. He set a standard for what a Joestar SHOULD be, a strong, intelligent, determined, and courageous gentleman. Who stops evil whenever it's presented. I'm only on Part 4 so far but while every Jojo has had some of these traits only Johnathan was a true gentleman.
@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead Do you know Kenshiro from Hokuto no Ken? Jonathan is based on him, Araki and Tetsuo Hara (Hokuto no Ken mangaka) are friends.
What’s amazing is Jonathan loved him after all that and 100 years later DIO considered him and Pucci his only true friends. DIO actually regretted stealing his body.
I feel like Jonathan is so underrated because he doesn’t have a stand Like bro he is the stand , definitely been one of my favorite characters in the jojo series even before he died :( wished he would’ve lasted longer than like 9 episodes
Yeah, when i first watch JoJo i thought on the last episode of phantom blood he would survive. When i finish watching part 1 i know that JoJo bizarre adventure is not like any other anime or comic.
and he did it with his own fists, not as crafty as Joseph and Not with a stand... he can actually Trade Blows with a stand like the World and Crazy Diamond if ASB is anything to go by, that and punch bullets from Mista and Narancia
Option A. Jonathan Will Make A Jojopose With Dio Option B. Jonathan Will trow Dio From the second floor Option C. Dio will awake without legs in the hospital
Editor: “Hey Johnathan is a pretty popular character, maybe we should give him a cameo with Jotaro!” Araki, finishing a line of crack: *”MAKE HIM A GHOST AND TURN HIM PURPLE!”*
People like to say Jonathan is plain and boring but people never say he’s a Mary Sue or Gary Stu. Jonathan was never an all powerful or op character nor was he a character who did things everyone else couldn’t. His character was kind honest humble and honorable but he wasn’t perfect and that’s what makes him an incredible character. Plus how many times do you see a genuinely nice protagonist. He was human and just like the the rest of the cast... except Dio, because he isn’t human in either way.
Yeah! Jonathan seems like the hero who would at least try to peacefully resolve conflict before a fight. The guy who would be sad that he killed you, not because he liked you, but because he couldn't save you. On the other hand, we have Jotaro. I like ora's just as much as the next guy, but they really made Jonathan likeable.
Did I lay this egg? Yeah Jotaro ended a some of fights that the other crusaders and the part 4 cast started and with Giorno he really just whipped out the “I win” card last second every fight and he also has GER which IS the “I win” card
exactly but people love them and say "Jonathan is so perfect he has no flaws so boring" like no? He got his ass beat, lost all his friends and do screwed up his love life and home life. He didn't have a invincible stand or strong allies (just zeppeli who died, the old Hamon teachers who did like nothing and Speedwagon who didn't have Hamon) he died at the end of his part without actually killing dio and failed to protect the one's he loved from him. But he still fought and was noble.
In my opinion his last bit of humanity died when Jonathan did. You can actually hear the sadness in dio's voice when he realizes jonathan is dead during the cruise fight
His vendetta was with Jonathan. Not Jotaro. Jotaro only wanted to save his mom and maybe avenge his ancestor along the way, while said ancestor has his life ruined by this iDIOt.
Yeah Jotaro viewed DIO as more of a nuisance who killed his friends and DIO felt like Jotaro was just a roadblock to his goals. Jonathon and Dio both held a personal bitter rivalry against each other since they were kids, and it was more personal between them.
I disagree. To me, the final battle against Dio in part 3 felt like the result of centuries worth of fighting between the Joestars and Dio. With Dio using Jonathan's body and both Joseph and Jotaro participating in the fight, along with the other crusaders, it felt like the culmination of everything that came after. I also think that Jonathan X Dio was too short of a fight, and Jotaro X Dio was perfectly paced, with brilliant mindgames and one big payoff at the end
Remember when jojo was about buff men beating the shit out of vamps? Now it's a bunch of skinny strippers fighting each other with supernatural spirits. That's what I call bizzare
@@byjordi2185 that is why pt3 is the best whene it comes to style . pt1 is too dark and real and pt5.6.7... are just too gay and rainbowish but pt3 is perfect. the story is another case
