Yes that is a long video I can win like 10 titles in a wrestling game faster than that I can beat Harry Potter 4 for the ps2 faster than that I can beat Mario 64 quicker than that my b ball practices are shorter get it very long video 😄
I'll admit. His reign in 2015 was one of the more interesting storytelling that DID expose most of the best talent at the time until WWE ruined the concept at SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell.
They can still give the WWE United States Title its prestige back if they place the title on someone like Jinder Mahal or Bobby Roode or Sami Zayn or Apollo Crews or Andrade Cien Almas or Rey Mysterio or Samoa Joe or Shelton Benjamin or Bobby Lashley they could give it back its prestige each of these men have an awesome in ring style
@@Ilovemusic6584 Maybe not a single match, but Survivor Series 1998 had a good show long story that most attribute to Russo. Not really a fan of anything else he did though.
The United States Title was created in 1975 and lasted 25 years in NWA/WCW until 2000 when WCW was bought out by WWE. The WWE has only had the championship since 2000...thats 21 years. 5 more years and your point would be valid.
@@BABYFACE0895 my dad favorite saying RIP thanks for that truly but this the thing his commentary kinda expose him a bit in it because he would rank higher guys who had smaller impact and shorter reigns over guys with more in some cases..
The WCW US Heavyweight Championship belt was my favorite US title and it’s my all-time favorite championship belt of all time. It’s classy and cool all wrapped in one belt. What a beautiful US Title WCW made.
Kinda surprised to see Lex Luger top the list but... that is some solid reasoning. It's also a good reminder of why he was so prominent in wrestling throughout much of the 80s and 90s; he was talented and more than just an impressive physique. That he was overshadowed by all-time greats like Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan should not detract from that.
I'm not a big fan of John Cena , but i gotta to admit that is US title reign in 2015 was probably on of the bests reigns ever , his Open Challenges was awesome , and were , by far , the best thing on RAW back then , and it also helps to elevate the title
1 year later and not just the title, but a lot of the wrestlers who had a chance to perform in the ring with John Cena. I mean like him our hate him being in the ring with him is a big boost for every wrestler in the mid card. I still remember how excited I was for Kevin Owens. Granted back then I didn't watch NXT or anything other than wwe main roster so I didn't know KO, but damn the first match between Cena and Owens was fire.
nonsense, putting it on cena devalued the belt no-end. an insult to all the genuine legends who have held the belt. give me david flair any day, no joke.
I loved Raven as a wrestler. I wish they would have done more with him. He had a very good 90s character that resonated with a lot of outcasts, however you can't always have someone winning based solely off of outside help and losing every other match.
Excellent work, you put a ton of effort into this. I think someone like Sami or Neville should have won the title from Cena. It’d have been so much cooler than Del Rio doing it.
One error out of the gate: David Flair being awarded the US title preceded Russo's defection to WCW by a few months. It happened in July of 1999, while Russo didn't join the company until October. Yes, this was Bischoff booking all the way.
Ambrose is ranked 15th? Why?! Yes he has the 3rd longest US Championship reign ever, but nearly every single defense on TV and PPV ended in a DQ or countout. He went 3 and a half months without defending it. It was an afterthought when he was champion, which is why he was champion for nearly a year. The title meant absolutely nothing when he was champion.
I finally finished the list. My word I am even more in love with the belt and I vow one day I shall claim it. 1 day. Thanks once again for another awesome list @CultaholicWrestling and @AdamPacitti! Stay Awesome!
It's incredible to watch these and see Flair all over the place. Here's flair in the 70's! Here's Flair in the 90's! Etc. Just awesome. Mad respect to Rick for having the career he did.
that's why most, including myself, consider him to be the greatest of all time. not only did he hold the us title more than anyone, he also held the wcw whc more than anyone too. and the reigns were spread over decades.
I'm surprised Ambrose is so high on the list because the only thing I really remember from it is seeing the title on him sometimes and going "oh, the title still exists." I also vividly remember one entrance where he entered with it on and tossed it somewhere before going to to the ring. Then, after the match, he didn't leave with it. I thought that even he had forgotten about.
1:23:20 well lads at Cultaholic I am indeed very pleased to tell you there's another man who's held 3 titles at once and fairly recently as well. Yes that's right. In 2019, Seth FREAKIN' Rollin held the Universal Championship, Tag Team Championship with Braun Strowman AND most importantly.............................................. The UpUpDownDown championship. I think we can all agree what's the most prestigious one.
Cena made the us title worthy again and also used the open challenge to introduce multiple wrestlers into the wwe including a lot of current top tier talent
Greatest WCW united state championship-Lex Luger Greatest NWA united state championship - Ric Flair Greatest WWE united state championship - John Cena Makes much more sense now
Lex Luger at number 1 totally deserving. Having followed his career through the eighties and such. I totally remember the oddest loss being to Michael Hayes and winning it back on NWA World Wide on a Saturday Night late night night. Was just odd. Not much press with Hayes holding the title at the time, even on TBS.
Wait how the hell did you guys mention Kenzo Suzuki without talking about the fact that he won the title WITHOUT being signed to the company AND he refused to drop it. Which is why they restarted the match and editted it to make it a win for one man gang
Ambrose shouldn’t be anywhere near 15, yes he had multiple high profile feuds as part of the shield but those storyline’s never mentioned the us title, he would hardly ever defend it because he was too busy with the shield.
Who would've ever thought you would finally see Bret "The Hitman" Hart win the WWE United States title in mid-2010 against Mike Mizanin on 'WWE RAW'?...
(53:35) I never knew this was a difference in the rules between WCW and WWF/WWE. I always assumed that titles, all titles, could only change hands thru a pinfall or submission victory and could not change hands by disqualification or count out, unless it’s a special stipulation. This particular match wasn’t mentioned as having such a stipulation so I’m assuming that none existed. If the match did feature the stipulation that the belt could change hands under these circumstances, I’d appreciate the clarification.
34:29 that belt is ugly but I get the idea, continental US as the center and Alaska as a side plate, but I must ask... why not include Hawaii as the other side plate then?
excluding those who we know well for tragic reasons, the greatest US champion in WWE was John Cena. throughout the history of the title ... Lex Luger absolutely
Yes and speaking of Raven,it always seemed like he held the US title longer than that,Because he stole it and walked around for a month with it,so either he,or someone in power probably knew the whole plan(Hard to believe in WCW but Raven was probably friends with Booker Kevin Sullivan and he just convinced him that if he,s only gonna have A one day run, then he should steal the belt and wear it everywhere for a month, and it worked because I barely remember it being only a day,
I know people love bashing Vince Russo, but he was not in charge when David flair was given the belt. That happened in June with his title defense on July 11th. Russo was still in WWE at that time and didn't sign with WCW until October of 1999
Well I mean he physically abused miss Elizabeth and his introduction of drugs to her and his lack of ability to call for help while she lay there dying for 8 hours kinda gives people a valid reason to complain.
@@wingerding You are very misinformed. She was already using when she met him and he never abused her. she was a grown woman living with a married man and making her own choices. Stop simping trying to blame a man.
Duggan was mentored by Bruiser Brody. That's why he instinctively protects his booking by staying as strong as possible. He can always start an angle with a promo about how he was screwed
That Cena run was when I realized: I was still just hating on him because "that's what you did." Even though he was still winning, the matches were undeniable for quality and elevating new/young talent, literally the two things he was STILL getting crap about.
Raven should have been at a better spot on the list. Who else has a 1 day title reign that is remember as fondly as his. It's remembered so well that it seemed like he held it for a year or more.
God bless Adam Pacitti. This video is worth watching alone for the Randall Keith song about 20 mins in. The awesome wrestling content is just a bonus! 😂
