I actually liked Yokozuna’s title reign a lot. Rarely did they ever make a heel appear so dominant, and for a guy his size he could wrestle pretty well.

But thank you fou placing Bret Hart so high, he was phenomenal, Legendary wrestler, the greatest champion of The New Generation era between 1994 and 1997! He had 5 star matches with just about EVERYONE...Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, his late great brother Owen Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, British Bulldog, The Undertaker, Ric Flair, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Vader, Jeff Jarrett, Sid, he even wrestled The Rock and Triple h, Bret was a great champion and Legend for sure!

Sammartino absolutely deserved number 1. Not just because of his 8-year title reign and then his 3 and half year title reign, but because of all his insanely classic matches, the fact that he always sold-out Madison Square Garden and always put on the greatest matches of all time. Everything about him is what pro wrestling was built on and what it should still be today. There would be no WWE today if it wasn't for his popularity. His matches were pure wrestling clinics, and he made the WWE Championship THE Championship that everyone wanted.

Rey’s reign lasted the length of a 2 HOUR episode of raw. And it still felt like the episode dragged.

Bret Hart was No1 for me. As a kid he was my favourite wrestler face or heel, and when he turned heel I actually understood why. His matches were exceptional his story telling got me watching every week and if it wasn't for Bret Hart, I wouldn't have believed in the stone cold gimmick as much. I'm not slating stone cold he'd be my No2 pick. Bret had a way of making other people look fantastic.

To be honest, that top 5 is pretty solid and can't ever see it ever changing. Well done guys

I don’t get how Kofi is lower than Jeff Hardy, someone who never successfully defended the title. Kofi’s win was bigger, and his reign was better, so why is he lower?

They probably wanted to give him a technical run because he was such a icon but knew he wasn't in the physical condition to wrestle properly week after week. 4:50

The excellence of execution was my favorite all along. Nobody worked as hard and faithfully as Bret Hart, nobody was willing and able to carry underperforming oponents as well, and nobody suffered personal losses that painful as he did. This man made me believe in wrestling as a sport, not just a show.

The rock proves it’s quality over quantity. His feud with triple H was amazing and the fact he didn’t win much because he was cheated out of most matches made it so sweet when he won.

I wasn't into wrestling growing up but when I was a kid The Attitude era was at it's peak so I had a lot of friends that enjoyed watching WWE/ WWF WCW all that so when I would hang out with them we played smackdown and would watch old tapes so I kinda started to enjoy it but the one thing I love about wrestling is that they respect their OGs it's cool thing for a father to see his favorite wrestler doing a tag team match with his son's favorite wrestler. It also teaches the younger generation about the history of wrestling I was born in 1994 I'll be 28 next month in April glad I was able to catch wrestling at it's peak

Thank you so much for putting Bret Hart in the upper echelon. No complaints he's second to Bruno Sammartino. Indeed, Hart is one of the most liked men backstage, seeing himself as "one of the boys" even during his title reigns. He's a pure wrestler making his opponents look good (not just simply selling), win or lose. He's not into backstage politicking (well, other than refusing to lose the title to Michaels leading to Screwjob, but not totally his fault and that's a story for another day). The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.

The fact that Eddie almost died in the JBL match was just as terrifying to think about as it is a testimony to how far Eddie would go to entertain the fans.

Brett Hart is the best Pro Wrestler of all time as far as in ring work goes. Hes not the best on the mic for sure, Stone Cold and the Rock have him beat easily. Honestly even Savage or Hogan as well. But Brett Hart made the belt really feel like gold with just how much work he put into it. And how much work he put into his opponents. We wouldn't even HAVE Stone Cold if it werent for Brett.

Jericho really got shafted. Vince's comment about how "bad the state of the business must have been if we're putting the title on Jericho" is a horrible take from one of the kings of bad decisions.

I'm not going to lie but for all the reasons you put JBL down as a bad champion in the ranks is the EXACT reason why he was such a good heel champ. I grew up watching the JBL heel champ era, and I HATED JBL. God I hated JBL with a passion. But that's exactly what his character was designed to do. Looking back at it as an adult. It worked, it kept you engaged with the product because you hated him that damn much. Can't hate a gimmick for doing what it said on the tin.

I disagree with JBL...not that he should be placed super high or anything, but JBL had one of the most surprising reigns in history. It went from "you can't be serious, Bradshaw!?" to legitimately being entertained week after week, especially during the Cabinet phase.

Bret and Stone Cold should be number one and 2, the greatest wrestler of all time and the guy he helped make a star. If not for The Hitman, Austin would probably have never been signed by WWE in 1996, let alone become the biggest draw in wrestling history. Steve had great talent, but for a time it seemed only Bret could see it.

As a kid in the late 80's and early 90's I was hugely in to wrestling. Right up until the point where I wasn't. I had the toys, the magazines, the sticker books, the VHS tapes....then it ended. I don't remember why, but since maybe the mid 90's I've never watched it. Much like friends though that I haven't seen since that era, I'll always have a soft spot for it and will check up on it from time to time. Hence my now being here, watching this video, and being reminded of one of my favourite childhood moments. I'd forgotten Superfly Jimmy Snuka existed until mentioned in this video. I had the action figure of him, and naturally his action was to jump (jump is a stretch, he more fell over from a very slightly elevated position). To do this, you pulled his shoulders down and let go. At that point Jimmy should fly in a fashion most super. It was crap when compared to the awesome arm swinging of the Bushwacker figures. One day me and a friend were re-enacting a royal rumble and it was time for the Super Fly to shine. I pulled his shoulders down as he stood majestically on the top turn buckle. I let go; it should have been a guaranteed victory. Instead, what happened was his shoulders flew up and catapulted his head clean off his body and across my bedroom. Needless to say, this was a ruled a disqualification. It was one of the single best things that had ever happened to one of my toys out of the blue. It broke me and my friend for weeks. Jimmy was sadly never the same. The injury only got worse for him, as without his head there was nothing to hold his torso on. Surgery was attempted via super glue, but not even the pun could keep his head on. He was retired shortly after and spent the remainder of his days handing out in the Ghostbusters HQ with a knock off Leonardo, forming a sort of tragic security team. I realise this story is long and to anyone that isn't me, is fairly boring. If you made it through to the end, kudos and thank you. But this random video dredged up a 30 year old dormant memory for me and it still made me smile like a loon. Those early WWF days are still firmly in my heart and looking back on them are just like seeing the old friends from those days. Wrestling may be ridiculous, it may be fake, it may be whatever else those who don't appreciate it decide to call it, but it's also wonderful in a way that only wrestling is and for that I salute it and the absolute mad lads who participate in it.

Another great video another great list. I do have to mention one thing though. I am and always have been a pretty big Triple H fan. Aside from Ric Flair I don’t know that there’s ever been a better heel. Having said that I’m not about to pretend like the many criticisms against him burying multiple wrestlers aren’t valid, however you mention Jericho at Wrestlemania 18. That match should not have gone after Hogan vs The Rock, but as far as the outcome goes, Triple H was ridiculously over after returning from his quad injury and winning the Royal Rumble that year
