Kip, if you watch 5D’s, make sure to watch the Japanese version with English subtitles because there are a lot of episodes that weren’t dubbed in English. I mean, I guess you could watch it just for the “dub experience” but you really need to watch the sub to get the full story. Not to mention, they change a lot of things, but that’s obvious.
The "Crow originally being secretly a villain" idea kind of makes sense, even if it was only an early concept that got scrapped. The reason I believe it is because "Blackwing Armor Master" has the same design Earth-Bound Immortals do. So I could've seen the bare bones minimum was the design for the three of Yusei, Jack, and Crow before changing it after coming up with the reason the group split having been the 4th member of their group that everyone had thought died. I can even see the process of changing Crow from being the leader to Rex because an adult in a high position would make more sense as a leader over a teen from the slums despite Keeping the big boss's Immortal as the Winged Beast version.
I finally started the Orichalcos Arc in the Duel Monsters anime... How can such a good arc be filler? It's anime canon, not filler, I love all that Cosmic, Extraplanar, and Ancient Magitech Stuff...
I haven't finished the video, but when Kip mentioned Yugi, I wonder how big Yugi's fusion deck is, because he seems to be able to fuse everything and anything with Dark Magician and fusing Dark Magician fusions with other monsters, but I feel like most of those were made up in the spot, since the cards made after them seem really bad and improvised from my poor understanding.
Yeah, the Dark Signer Crow thing was a combination of 5D's conspiracy theories and people taking fanart too seriously. The fanart of Dark Signer Crow that TGS showed was actually one of the pieces of "evidence" used by the "Dark Signer Crow was real" side due to one of that tags on it roughly translating to "it was one of the early ideas"; closer inspection of the page (like the description) makes it more likely the tag was meant to be taken as "this was where I thought the plot was going". The concept art we do have from the "Duel Art" artbook does indicate that Crow's character direction did change, but his original idea was being Yusei's hot-blooded friend who tried to steal his duel runner in the past. There were also those who believed Crow's character direction was changed to sell Blackwings. Thing is that the timeline doesn't match up. Blackwings only had four cards when Crow debuted, and by the time they became meta, the episode where Crow placed himself firmly on the heroes' side would have already been in the middle of production. Not to mention that the anime tends to underutilize cards that end up being meta by having their owners either not duel much, lose a lot, or swap to a different deck entirely; Crow being one of the two exceptions to this trend.
Hundred Eyes Dragon is the actual dark synchro they just made it a regular synchro monster with the dark attribute to make it easier to summon since they can't actually do the negative stars
No as Mathematics already took that mechanic and Ursarctic's use the opponent card face down effects Dark Synchros had nothing really going for them other than having negative stars and their effects and their cards being slightly darker than regular synchro monsters and Konami wasn't going to spend money on that so they just made them regular synchro monsters
@@traigongames No Mathmech have regular Synchros, Ursarctic SPECIFICALLY have Synchros that say "Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending 2 monsters you control with a Level difference of 1 to the GY (1 Tuner and 1 non-Tuner).", AKA Dark Synchroing. Konami just doesn't want to deal with how Negative level monsters work just like Attributeless monsters with Clear World, even though that's the whole point.

People play Pot of Neg 9, so yeah, Pot of Greed a generic free +1 with no drawbacks would definitely see play. Nowadays it's not an absolute staple in every deck but a lot of decks would be fine running it.
I will go so far as to say that Pot of Greed would see play in literally every deck, same for Graceful Charity. Decks will run one to three copies of Triple Tactics Talent raw, just for the draw two if their combo is interrupted. Having a generic free +1, no strings attached, is just too much value.
If you think about it. Yusei is basically Yu-Gi-Oh's Superman. Think about it. As a baby, his father who was a brilliant scientist, put him in an escape pod so he could escape the destruction of his home. Then he goes on to have Good morals to do the right thing and save others. He even has that red symbol thing on his shirt on his chest. Another one is that while Superman is a Moses allegory, people put him in a Jesus one and his Stardust Dragon is a Jesus Dragon. Sacrificing itself to protect others then after an amount of time, will rise from the grave and return.

Prophecy is still kinda spendy. It's not OG Teledad levels of spendy, but High Priestess copies will still cost you a bit. *Looks at my Bystial Lubellion and other tech I've bought for Branded, thus being a hypocrite*
