You are describing my ex husband to a tee. Except I got it wrong when I use to think they were “yellow” flags. His control tactics and jealousy issues caused him to put his hands on me more than once and projected everything he was about onto me. I thought he was maybe a narcissist, but when our therapist told me I was actually dealing with a PSYCHOPATH, I couldn’t ignore the bruises anymore. They were as red as a flag could be but I didn’t want to believe it. He still thinks I’m the problem while he was doing nothing but causing complete chaos behind the scenes. He is a visionary, but his natural vision was all kinds of blind. ZERO self awareness. I treated him like a King when the entire time he was throwing temper tantrums and I really should have treated him like the toddler he was behaving like. I’m the lead singer in a band so when you said, “she’s getting a lot of attention” he REALLY couldn’t handle it. I never gave him a reason to doubt me or my loyalty.
