Everyday Food Storage: Blender Wheat Pancakes (Use wheat without a wheat grinder) 

Some family members hate honey. (I like it.) I also like homemade jam (especially when it doesn't set right, and is just runny) it makes great fruit syrup, which my family loves. I also like applesauce or apple butter, or apricot butter (apricot puree, with cinnamon), on pancakes. Another good topper is vanilla yogurt and fresh berries-- so good! Also, I have found that if you are trying to introduce your children to cooking, one of the best foods to help them learn basic cooking is pancakes. Any child old enough to see over the countertop (about 8 or 9) can learn to measure ingredients into a bowl, and flip pancakes. Because pancakes cook fairly quickly, and you can watch them rise, bubble, and cook before your eyes, it gives your child a quick sense of accomplishment. (Of course they need supervision while they are learning, and they may make a mess at first, learning to flip pancakes.) But after a few attempts, they will learn. Eventually, you can give them the responsibility of pancake-maker, which frees you up to take care of other children's needs, if you have several children.
