The people of the kingdom look down on the young Prince Bojji, who can neither hear nor speak. They call him "The Useless Prince" while jeering at his supposed foolishness.
However, while Bojji may not be physically strong, he is certainly not weak of heart. When a chance encounter with a shadow creature should have left him traumatized, it instead makes him believe that he has found a friend amidst those who only choose to notice his shortcomings. He starts meeting with Kage, the shadow, regularly, to the point where even the otherwise abrasive creature begins to warm up to him.
Kage and Bojji's unlikely friendship lays the budding foundations of the prince's journey, one where he intends to conquer his fears and insecurities. Despite the constant ridicule he faces, Bojji resolves to fulfill his desire of becoming the best king he can be.

I absolutely fell in love with this anime. The queen I thought was evil turned out to be nothing but despite some obvious flaws. And the little prince reminds me of my nephew who is autistic and can’t speak or understand the things around him, or that’s what people think he is the smartest little kid alive with boundless energy and I love him to death.

@@ImTheMan0fSteel Well a lot goes unoticed by the West. That awesome French cartoon? That amazing Indian movie that grossed a billion dollars? All went unoticed by the West. That’s not “underated” though. As these series were INSANELY popular in their homelands or literally any other part of the world. And I’m glad series like this aren’t noticed in the west. As otherwise it would only be a matter of time before a western b*stardised adaption is created chock full of artificial wokeness that will ruin the reputation of otherwise fantastic series. Just look at how badly the West treats it’s own media. E.g The Witcher Netflix adaptation.

I was hit on the head a lot as a child so i have a hard time remembering things. Thank you for the recap of an anime i know i had fun watching. My other friends also have some trouble remembering season one since it was so long ago.

This recap helped me understand the story much better but I do still have some questions that may or may not be revealed in either the next season. (if there will be another one) Since stated earlier king bosse essentially took bojis strength for his own by talking to the red demon so that he could be more powerful. This explains why boji is weak and small and possibly why he doesn't speak (possibly words are powerful as well or part of the power that was taken from him as well??) My main question is now that king bosses soul is now gone how come boji doesn't have all his strength back that was taken from him or does the red demon possess it?

Spoilers: Thought the stepmum would be evil but is literally the sweetest and most loving mum. I'm still SHOCKED how everyone was chill with miranjo?! Like yea she had a sad backstory but girl still killed so many people including sheena-- then Daida just PROPOSES to her at the end?! BOY she literally sacrificed your body to get your father back, if anything she's into your father not you. Speaking on that, isn't Miranjo older by ALOT? and how old is Daida-- like 13? If anything I 100% thought Miranjo had some sort of crush on Bosse, cause like-- the dancing? the way they talk about 'feelings'? the whole 'you're the only one left'? But yea its full twists and was a whole lot confusing, first half was great and then it just got weird. I only stayed for Bojji thats all
