Equality is a lie there is only passion. Through passion I gain strength Through strength I gain victory Through victory my chains are broken The force shall set me free.
What if your an Uber driver and that’s all your doing. Are you supposed t be motivated every day. And look in the mirror and wonder what’s else I could be doing. It’s not always a choice. What if there are no other jobs that pay or what if you can’t afford college etc. life isn’t always about rainbows and lollipops..
This has inspired me so much. I have started drinking heavily in the evenings, and it gives me something to look forward to every single day. Thank you so much Dr P
Langi Beats you're off pace a bit. There are different drinking formulas. If you're going a beer an hour you will need one shot in between to stay in the pocket. One beer an hour is what's suggested to stay sober. This is before getting into compound interest drinking, and pareto's beer-pothesis.
your love of dr phil has inspired me, to show you this great clip of dr phil visiting mad tv. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iVgKU0tefFs.html
I think Joe is old enough now to grow out the horseshoe and mustache. It would be a suitable, distinguished look for an older gentleman such as himself.
Well yes, but what does that have to do with the situation they are talking about in this video? If you are a woman or a small man or have a hereditary desease you do not have the same opportunity when it comes to physical ability. And if you are born stupid or have parents that do not give a shit about education you certainly do not have an equal opportunity to get a phd in quantumphysics.
Seal of Approval Ben Carson would beg to differ, and that was before internet, internet now is basically free college for those who have access and desire to learn. With a few clicks you can go from nip slips images to quantum fluctuations. Access to information is in the pocket of everyone who has a smart phone now.
@@MegaNiQ You clearly haven't understood (or deliberately misinterpreted) what I wrote. Yes, a woman who trains all day for 20 years might end up stronger than some lazy big dude who spent the same time on the couch eating chicken wings. Yes, a poor black boy with a single mother if he is either more intellegent gentetically or somehow tried way harder than anyone around him might end up a brain surgeon. Noone disputes that. But that's not equal opportunity. The whole point is that they have to try harder or if they tried just as hard as their competition from a rich or educated family or with a better suited physique they would achieve significantly worse outcomes. And in many less prominent cases even trying harder doesn't get you there. Now even if you could find all the information a brain surgeon needs online for free, you would still have to somehow get into medical school and pay your bills until you got your degree without which noone is going to let you work on their brain. "Equal opportunity doesn’t mean equal outcome" as it is usually used is an idea that I can get behind. If two guys start from the same place and one tries harder or has better ideas or makes better decisions then it is fair if he ends up with a greater reward. If one starts off significantly worse than society should try to support him at the start.
You're weird man. 🤣 Turtle Dr. Phil: "Now I may be slower than the hare, but I can read and talk real good and I can pull my head up in my shell. I don't have to be equal in everything."
@@bighands69 Yes he also had a licence to practice as well, but he doesn't anymore due to it more being about entertainment been trying to work out the time to watch the full interview, be amazing as he comes out with some pretty epic statement from the clips I've seen got a new found respect for him watching this! He's a great man is all I can say!
Sonue Empire Yeah. I always hated being shit at school and struggling with math, science, and stuff. However, when i found my calling in music and started getting into working out and martial arts i became so much happier with life in general. I don’t need to be the best footballplayer in town if i already know how to play some music.
The Idiot Exactly. A lot of people will look at education or sport and just think of that. But it can come down many different skills, from public speaking to persuasive speaking or anything like that. Just got to live n explore
the obvious question unanswered, what about people that suck at most things that society values? Sad day for them, catch a cab, be homeless? Toss them into a pit? That seems to be the standard answer.
Some people confuse "Equal Opportunity" with "Equal Outcome." The first is reasonable all should strive for it, the latter is fantasy, pure foolishness, and strangely some idiots' political agendas.
I can agree with the ideal of equal opportunity. But to believe there is no bias whatsoever in the outcome is to have significant blind spots. As with any society in the history of humanity, the group in power will always be biased in favor of its own perceived group, to the exclusion of others. It's more extreme in some societies than others, but it exists pretty much everywhere on earth. Just because we call something "equal opportunity" doesn't mean it necessarily is.
We would hope that everyone is given an opportunity to succeed but that's not how the Real World Works! Many people have to be "determined that whatever they want to accomplish, nothing is going to stand in their way!" We all need to realize that we are the product of the decisions that we make and/or have made many years ago! My sons had a friend who got really high scores on his SAT & got a full scholarship for college! He flunked out his Freshman year & lost that scholarship! Why! Because he played on his gaming system & skipped many classes & then when he attempted to pull his a@@ out of the wringer for finals, it was too late! He didn't give up but realized that college wasn't for him & he sells insurance now!
Us women need to be more comfortable with the fact that we can’t physically compete with men... some women get offended by this simple biological fact, I used to be one of them. Women will become more empowered if we stop comparing ourselves to impossible standards
@@druidofthefang Little harsh don't you think? How do you know how quickly her opinion changed? she didn't give you a timeline in her comment. It's what boils down to what Sargon of Akkad I think said during a Ruben Report show, what people want is the equality of both opportunity and outcome, it simply won't happen. Will be completely honest I can't really remember which one is the more likely or possible think it was equality of outcome than equality of opportunity, then you get this victim culture (take the likes of the metoo movement as a great example of something that just pisses the fuck out of me completely, stayed on the fence until lately, trying my hardest not to rant here but ugh!
@@bastidface that's not true, give me one or two names if there's too many to mention. And some policies they want to implement. Unless you just eat up everything people like Jordan Peterson is saying without fact checking.
@@hauntyoo I feel as though you're asking me to prove why the earth isn't flat or why I believe it rained during the night because my lawn is wet. Obviously, policies forcing equal outcome have been in place for decades. I guess you missed that thing called affirmative action. Apparently qualified Asians seem to be having difficulty getting accepted into Harvard because of preference to lesser qualified applicants in the interest of satisfying more equitable racial diversity. Fortunately, there's now a plethora of established curricula in the pseudosciences geared to retain and graduate these budding scholars and future SJW activists despite their 4th grade reading abilities. How about prison reform and breaking the cradle to prison pipeline? Because all the races must be equal, and there's a disproportionate number of one race going to prison, it can only mean that race is being unfairly targeted and oppressed. Right? Therefore, make fewer arrests, even if it's just a petty crime of $5,000 or less. That will ensure an equal race distribution in the prisons, and that these fine contributors to society stay on the streets to nurture their families and become good, upstanding citizens. Problem solved. But we still need to make more arrests of the other race to make it more balanced. Check. But you want a name. Bernie Sanders. No fact check is needed to show the man's public service record and speeches clearly outline his socialist agenda...economic equality for all, even if the hardest workers have to take up slack for the slackers. All will be equal. Oh and I'm sure you've witnessed the trend in Hollywood to ensure all races and genders are equally represented in films, regardless of whether the acting roles might be better suited for a different race or gender.
I've never heard anyone advocate for equality of outcome. Our current equality of opportunity is like playing monopoly. Everyone is finally allowed to play but people have different dice. 2 dice per parent. If you're black you get a D4, white gets a D6 and rich gets a D20. Spoiler: the rich ones win.
luca Rossi It makes perfect sense. There’s room for anyone at the top: Every different type of person can make it there. Not room for everyone at the top: If everyone is at the top, than it’s not really the top anymore is it? It’s essentially the bottom.
I remember my kindergarten teacher would always say that everyone is unique and different. But now in high school it’s all about being equal to your peers.
@@seankrkovich2869 but in school you cant be you have to be equal, everyone wins, because equality..hence kids growing up thinking they have the right to do something when they dont have the capability.
@@embecmom5863 And that's part of the problem. The "everyone gets a trophy" mentality has led younger folks to become entitled. Now they expect to be recognized, even for mediocrity. I remember seeing one of my peers get a trophy (in sports) and I decide that I want one too. I worked my tail off, practiced and got better and won more than one. The idea that you might have to work for something has become alien. The idea that even "IF" you work hard you might not be successful has become alien to some. Now if someone (who's younger) simply shows up they expect to be rewarded. I will also say this....I've learned more when I've failed than when I've been successful. Failure/defeat will cause some to give up and quit, while with others it will act as fuel. Either way, working and getting better at something still makes the individual better. It's like one of my favorite sayings: "adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it" Yeah, it's cliche' but it's also true.
Feel like the finding something you’re passionate about is even more important during this pandemic. I picked skateboarding up again, used to skate a bit with buddies in middle school, and it’s allowed me to just ‘get lost’ if you will. Cruising down hills when it’s a bright sunny day, practicing basic tricks (I am by no means debuting on x games ever) but I do it because it’s enjoyable. I hope other people have found things to not only occupy them but that interest them, maybe even push them to try and get better during this time.
@Jimmy Strudel no one is saying that people can''t have guns they're saying the regulations should be way more strict so guns couldn't be sold easily and illegally. And wtf does an ordinary citizen need military grade weapons to protect their family or loved ones. I saw someone protesting with a damn bazooka.
It's nice if things work out for you that way, but it simply isn't possible for everyone to make a good living doing what they love. i.e. the market isn't big enough for us all to become millionaire talk show hosts. All the kids today love video games, and a handful of people make good money playing them, but filling kids heads with this crap makes them all think they shouldn't bother getting a "real" job if it's not something they love doing. But 99% of "gamers" aren't making a living at it. They are stuck living in their parents basements, while they parents work that 9 to 5 to make a real living.
This is really resonating with me, I've spent my whole life doing things/jobs I hate because thats what I was told to do, it never felt right. Something has to be done.
2:17 " And if it's a woman guarding the white house, I don't care who she is....I'll fuck her up " I'm absolutely soul less. I'm dead. Holy fuck thats the quote that killed me. 😭😭😂😂😂😂
Another thing to remember is that you won't always find a job doing what you love but you can always find a job that involves doing things you love. I'm a UPS driver. I don't love being a UPS driver but I love being outside, I love working with my hands, I love driving and I love being mostly by myself all day and I experience all of that with my job. Mike Rowe kind of summed it up perfectly. He said something along the lines of "Don't always follow your passions but always take your passions with you."
Dude you're making money exercising and getting to be on the road and outside. That sounds like nothing but net to me bro. I work for multi millionaires that are just miserable. Here in Disneyland (the US) people are just sad sheeple for the companies and their cubicle lives. Your living like a human should. Be grateful you're not one of them.
God this makes me appreciate my pops. He took us camping and fishing. Loved it. He taught us to weld and work on cars. Hated it. I became a chef for some reason, and he was proud of me. Still love to fish and camp. Also do most of the work on our vehicles.
@Libertus Primus Dude i'm familiar with the book, obviously. My point is PC culture has an extreme amount of similarities to Cold War era communism, this isn't that hard to understand.
But everyone should have the right to prove themselves in any field they choose. You shouldnt belittle or think less of someone because they are in a certain field or a profession in which they are a minority. Everyone should be justly judged without sexism, racism and homophobia coming into the picture.
I appreciate Joe's line "boy that's lucky." Admitting the luck factor is important, because most people don't get that even if they try. That bit of luck is necessary for that to truly happen.
This myth, “all men are created equal” is the first participation trophy , we are not , and it means you can win even if you don’t start at the top I think it’s a great realization
"People don't want to look at things for how they are, but how they want them to be" is an amazing statement for both sides. We should strive to be better, but we can't really do that until we understand where we are. Amazing words.
@JD123483 no need to get something "done", if I've got nothing to do ;o) btw, re "mentality", you seem to have a pretty good sociopathic one yourself ... maybe check with a doc some time :o|
I love this conversation for many reasons. Most of all, you can't fail as a parent if you try. People choose to do as they wish, but trying as a parent is very important. You don't fail with effort.
@@whatchamacallit70 Thats not what he meant dipass, Joe was talking about the man defending the President of the United States of America, a big muscular, brave and well-trained soldier being the guard, instead of a female guard who is well trained but is not as strong as the strong man, you know what Joe meant bud

In Scandinavia we made everything equal a few decades ago, and yeah all you find out is that no people are equal its not between man and woman its among all of us. Same with beauty no one ever speaks about it, but if you are hot as F, your life is different, man or woman. But the cry babies have not come to that one yet, just accept it as a fact of life and try to become the best you can be.
Dude, we didn’t make anything equal. We tried to promote more equality. Which is overwhelmingly a good thing. Are there misses, of course. But it’s ridiculous to claim we made things equal, because that’s impossible.
@@lukaskongstad2838 I think that was his point, everyone can have equal rights and opportunities but that doesn't mean they will all have the same level of success because there will always be factors preventing people from reaching their full (presumed) potential. Equal rights does not mean equal success rate.
Those who get ahead on their external beauty whether male or female, can only benefit from that for as long as it lasts! Sooner or later the body & face age!

Very good. As Joseph Campbell said “Follow your Bliss”. Find and do the thing that you love. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t make you money but it can give you the feeling of being truely alive! I love to write songs. I’ll probably never make money out of them but I love the reception I get from them when I play them in my local community. Even with the anxiety I get when playing in front of people I feel alive and engaged.
Achievement is not where one ends up, rather how far you have gone. As you allude, we all don’t start the race from the same spot. Finishing high school can be a greater accomplishment, than becoming a king because you were born a prince. Success needs to be measured in the context of individual circumstances. And, success need not be monetary. Life has many facets.
@@savagesalvage9449 I think he was referring to the inconsistance of opportunities.
