What does the drug testing protocol in sport look like?
What does a low dose of Testosterone do?
How long does it take to "kick in".
These are all answered in the Study...
"THE EFFECT OF SHORT-TERM USE OF TESTOSTERONE ENANTHATE ON MUSCULAR STRENGTH AND POWER IN HEALTHY YOUNG MEN"
I go over this stufy and draw a few parallels between it and the sport we hold near and dear.
It turns out that Everyone is on Steroids.

People want to believe. It’s been like this in every sport ever… baseball (Bonds, Sosa, McGuire, etc) football (bosworth, Cushing, ridely, etc) cycling (Armstrong and everyone else in the top 20+) Olympic sports (Marion jones, Ben Johnson, etc) MMA (jones, Silva, Diaz, etc)…. The list can go on forever. It’s naive to think the top athletes in any sport aren’t probably on something. It doesn’t take away from their accomplishments, or the hard work and dedication it takes to get to the top. It’s just how it is. Give you or I all the steroids in the world and we arent hitting a baseball further than Barry bonds, ridding a bike faster than Lance Armstrong, whooping Jon Jones ass in the octagon or winning the crossfit games. There is 100% a huge genetic component to all this, PED’s just help the best of the best go further. They’d still be the best without drugs.

The T/E ratio I believe differs depending on the governing body of the sport. For example, cycling allows a 6:1 ratio vs the 4:1 you are stating. MMA is regulated by the state that the fight is taking place and I believe that most states allow a 6:1 ratio as well.

the main way in which to monitor the use of anabolic steroid is through waste water sampling. Since 2008, there were up to 20 studies done on waste water sampling and has shown only small increases in steroid use in certain communities. Since many athletes tend to live within five to 10 miles of their gym these can be pretty good indicators for the use and even quantifiable levels of steroid use. I have friend from graduate school who conducted one of these studies. It seems it may not be as rampant in use as some speculate, otherwise we should see large increases in some communities.

hey andrew! just a note about the T/E ratio those with naturally high T levels will also have high E which means that adding 300 mg/week will not raise their T by a large proportion, those with low T levels and subsequently low E levels, the same 300 mg/week will represent a much higher proportion of their over all T and therefore raise the T/E ratio significantly. e.g my T = 100 E = 100 I add 300 I have 4/1 ratio, if my T was only 10 the E would be 10 adding 300 would mean my T/E would be 31/1 hence the variance in the study

You dont have to do any work, if you take steroids and not train at all, you will still gain muscle, become stronger and lose fat. From doing absolutely nothing, just taking steroids. This is shown in another study, comparing clean athletes vs drugged vs placebo vs sofa-steroid users. Dont know how long the effect will last though, but these sofa-junkies had the same or better progress than natural, actively training men.

Dereck from More Plates More Dates touches on the topic you mentioned about strength remaining even after you stop taking gear. If you bank up the muscle nuclei while taking steroids, you can easily maintain a large amount of the strength and size on a standard diet and weightlifting protocol. So the guys running cycles in the offseason will be able to keep a lot of the advantages even though during the comps they are "clean". Let alone if they are able to stay on TRT because they will need it after crushing their test levels. Curious if CrossFit allows individuals who are on TRT to compete?

Everyone should know this through common sense. I’m not quite sure why people get so up in arms when I tell them how many cross fitters are using something. In strength sports like Powerlifting, they offer tested and non-tested categories. And nobody really makes a big deal about it. And the differences in what they’re lifting is nite and day. Especially the females, the way they look and the weights they lift is so obvious. Eventually we will have very scientific testing and the results will be very clear. I actually believe we have the technology but we aren’t using it.

Sorry, forgot onr important thing about steroids and SARMS. Smart athletes get "designer" steroids and SARMS, ie. current tests wont find them, which is why WADA saves the samples until they come up with a test that will find them. if you're a top athlete who wants to cheat, and doesn't use designer steroids, you're stupid and so is your coach. Numerous persons involved in giving counseling about, and selling steroids and SARMS, have said, on RU-vid that virtually all top athletees use designer drugs.

ALL professional athletes which rely on strength or stamina to excel at their game are on some form of PED. End of story. That's just the truth. I hold to the premise of an effective testing protocol as an abundance of positive tests…not the lack there of… As always, CFHQ doesn’t ask questions it doesn’t really want answers to… I laugh at the notion of “in competition” tests during official events. It is a rare occasion that a sample at the Games would test positive…as if someone would arrive HOT. Test a few weeks before so you can catch the user before the taper window begins. In the end, you see what you are looking for…

I am not so sure you are correct on the exogenous production of testosterone from sweet potatoes. Androgens (all sex hormones) have a cholesterol backbone and no plant produces cholesterol that I am familiar with unless someone has come up with a GMO for this product. Very likely all these PED source of testosterone come from transfected human cell lines and then through bioassays are purified for the desired product. It really would not be that hard to produce in any lab that does basic cell and molecular biology research. A recent undergraduate could probably do it if he/she had access to the right lab.

I remember watching an interview with Rich Froning, where they asked him about his testosterone level. He said it was about 1000. This is quite high for such a lean athlete and with all the volume he does in training. I am not saying that he is on gear, I just think that at times these accusations are directed at athletes they don't mind upsetting and others like Rich Froning are left alone. I think this is because it's about clicks not about bettering the sport.

The top CrossFit athletes are tested more than people think. Everyone is hung up on a few heavy lifts and scream roids. Our daughter got 14th last year in Games (Arielle) and doesn’t touch anything. Do some do them?? Honestly I don’t know. But they’re tested especially the top 10. Fraser and Froning were tested the most. Steroids doesn’t do much for mental toughness nor much of their workouts which always includes high heart rate. Perhaps some people will never be elite and for those that are maybe give them their props.
@scottw3780
@scottw3780 2 года назад
Very naive view, test helps recovery and improves results in any event. I’d imagine EPO use would also be quite high. I’d go as far to say that a woman with visible traps from the front and capped delts is 100 % doing more than just a little. Even most men can’t carry that trap/delt look off naturally and the ones that do certainly don’t spend more time training for endurance than lifting.
@worldwideachievers1234
@worldwideachievers1234 2 года назад
@@scottw3780 it’s definitely naive to “think” someone is doing roids because their traps are big. CrossFiters do lots of weightlifting whereas bodybuilding isn’t as hard, hence why they don’t do weightlifting. Again the elites are tested tons. No matter what the same top 10-20 are the same each year. This tells you a lot. They’re fit. I’m just as strong or stronger than many bodybuilders in the gyms I hit and I do mainly CrossFit. Don’t know if they’re using but doesn’t matter. I’m stronger and I don’t do roids. Lot of envy out there against CrossFiters. Are some using? I’m sure yeah but the elites I don’t think. They’re just that fit.
@scottw3780
@scottw3780 2 года назад
@@worldwideachievers1234 so people who specifically train traps, side and rear delts won’t grow them because they don’t train hard. Yet people who spend hrs running, doing press ups with some Olympic lifting have them popping out... you do realise how stupid that sounds?
@worldwideachievers1234
@worldwideachievers1234 2 года назад
@@scottw3780 you missed my point. You said people with traps must be doing roids. TF you talking about?? CrossFiters have traps because of weightlifting. Do you weightlift?? Big difference from machines. you obviously don’t know much about CrossFit or elites in CrossFit concerning their daily regimen. Tia for example competes in weightlifting outside of CrossFit and almost went to Olympics for downhill sledding. Fraser competed at national level and was snatching close to 300 when he entered CrossFit. Do any use roids? Like I said yes I’m sure. But the top 10-20 elites are tested heavily and always wind up on top. This should tell you that they’re just that fit. Do you CrossFit?? What are some of your PRs for weightlifting? People love to hate on others because they can’t do what they’re doing. This video was click bait anyway.
@scottw3780
@scottw3780 2 года назад
@@worldwideachievers1234so you do this training you must have thick traps and capped delts too? Look it’s a dead giveaway and it’s the first thing that disappears when you come off. The difference between an single study and a meta analysis would be helpful too. There's also a difference between total and free testosterone. Hey mate, to throw further fuel on the fire there’s actually a way to run large doses of exogenous testosterone year round (male and female) without the possibility of failing a test. The process involves synthesising pharma grade animal cholesterol (Available through research chemical companies to chemists) so even if you fail the initial T/E ratio and they run the expensive Gas chromatography/combustion/carbon isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC/C/IRMS) test you will still pass as the testosterone presents in your system is shown as animal based and therefor naturally occurring. This protocol is very expensive but one of the main tools utilised by pro level athletes that have the finances and access to one of the top few sports pharmacological experts / consultants (there’s only a handful) Beyond this i know of at least several other compounds that are performance enhancing and not currently on wada’s banned list such as metformin. One of the big ones up until recently (2016) was meldonium This is a very common compound utilised in CrossFit athletes Protocols.

Not sure if this has been mentioned below but the larger gains in bench press could be attributed to having more androgen receptors located in the upper body and chest. This is a bit of bro science on my part, but I would think if there are more androgen receptors there, that area of the body would respond faster to TRT than the legs. This might explain the gains in bench being much greater than the gains of the legs. I could also be totally wrong here.
