@@hillerfit I think fox was larger at the peak but they’re both for boomers and airport tvs now-pretty sure RU-vid shows like breaking points get more views. Unrelated, be careful with the anabolics and syringes on camera because RU-vid will ban your channel randomly-they’re not consistent with their own rules.
Been powerlifting for over a decade now, and a casual fan of crossfit. Watched all the docs every year for the games and the other Netflix docs too. I appreciate seeing this side of Crossfit as well. Obviously I know it's not all sunshine and rainbows, but never really had an insight to some more objective reporting on the sport. Cheers dude.
I live outside the US, a couple of years ago I bought the 350lb rogue bumper plate combo (along with other gear) through the US store. A couple of weeks later equipment arrives and would you guess it, one 10lb and one 15lb plate are missing. I cannot say at what point of the journey these plates got lost/stolen. If two of the same plates get lost then no issue, just buy that pair again, however a single 10 and 15 are completely useless, if you buy new pairs then you have 3 of each plate, still one usless. I get in contact with Rogue customer support trying to convince them to let me buy a single of each plate which is not an option since you can only buy them in pairs and the sales rep just tells me: "what issue do you have? you are missing two non-matching plates? alright they have been sent to your address free of charge, have a nice day"... All of this under 5 minutes. This quality of customer support you will not see anywhere else. They have my loyalty even if they are more expensive than the next best option. I don't forsee them going out of business anytime soon.
Saw them do that with someone's barbell once. The first one they got had one side that didn't spin very well. Rogue shipped him a new one, no questions asked.
@@zachphillips8892I had the same personal experience. Barbell didn’t spin right. They expedited a new one and sent a return label. The ups guy picked up the damaged bar when he deliverers the replacement.
I had the exact opposite experience. They were extremely difficult and unresponsive, made me send videos to prove that the $100 wallballs that they kept sending me were highly misshapen and defective. They kept gaslighting me that they were fine, and that I didn't know what wallballs were like. I had been doing CrossFit daily for ten years at multiple boxes. So, after loads of time and hassle, I got stuck with a highly egg-shaped wallball that I hate and don't want to use. I avoid them if I possibly can.
I have all Rogue equipment in my gym and have a bunch of No Bull gear. I have had zero issues with either companies customer service. My echo bike seat came apart and the next day aired me a new one no questions asked.
I liked the news update. Should be a regular bit Hiller. Informative, sarcasm, honest opinion, funny moments. I like the new format/concept/idea. FUN TO WATCH.
Enjoyed the “news channel” set up. But also wasn’t aware we were walking 11 minutes in the Texas heat to vendor village. Pretty disappointed on that one.
Hey Hiller if you want we can scalp tickets and sale bootleg shirts between the venue and the vendor village! Really turn the Games into a true sporting event
Maybe it's because my mother is a malignant narcissist who thrives on the "woe is me, I'm such a victim and no one understands" mentality, or maybe it's because I've chosen to keep putting one foot in front of the other in life in spite of the hard knocks, but I just have zero tolerance for whiners, mental weaklings, and this world we live in where "feelings" dominate and everyone just emotes. There are a ton of those types in the CF space. Nothing will turn me from being a fan of an athlete quicker than seeing that mental weakness and whining. I want to see people with grit and determination and a eff you mentality. Everyone has a sob story, the question is, how have you handled it? Please keep the "assholery" coming, Hiller. I'm here for it.
The Ellie thing is wild. She really said “I’m fed up that CrossFit is not willing to work with athletes unless it’s on their terms.” So she’s really saying “I’m fed up that I’m not getting special treatment and that CrossFit has rules to follow.” WHAT?!
The constant (endless) turnover of shoe/apparel sponsors should tell you everything you need to know about how competitive and unprofitable that industry is.
Actually the shoe business is very profitable. Nike makes their shoes overseas(most likely China) for pennies on the dollar and then sells them for outrageous prices because they are "Nike" and everyone has to have them. What is unprofitable is sponsoring events that unfortunately don't have enough viewers to make the sponsorship worthwhile.
When your "constructive criticism" is often antagonistic, it's understandable for people's responses to be mixed as well, whether they say they can take it or not. I can "take" someone talking shit, but that doesn't mean I won't talk shit back. Fair play.
Man your game is getting better and better. I say this all the time but you and Sevan are the ONLY reason I have any interest in CrossFit going ons (goings on?….I’m Ron Burgundy???)
@@hillerfit Reddit is it's own world. God forbid you say something that goes against the normal narrative (e.g., Hiller and Sevan aren't haters) then you get downvoted to oblivion. This goes way beyond the CF subreddit. In some subreddits, you're either a feminist or a misogynist (only a Sith deals in absolutes after all). Anyway my point is F Reddit
I just spent the past 2 days at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. It’s held at the same cluster of venues. I was curious how it would be set up for the Games. The map is deceiving. It’s not that far of a walk at all for a normal person. All of the buildings are really close. My 4 year old had no problems walking all over the facilities from building to building. I can assure you, the people attending the CF Games are much fitter than the average person attending the FWSSR and it doesn’t hinder people from making their way around all over the grounds from Dickies Arena, Will Rogers, Amon Carter Hall, and all of the barns for the animals. The grounds are smaller than a college campus for sure.
And while you’re taking that 11 min walk to vendor village, it will be hotter than south Baghdad. High temps in Ft. Worth in early August are 100-112F every day.
I love this 😂 1) I want to understand why Lauren Kalil is called Queen of Hustle (and who started this?). (Also Bella is the best.) 2) As an immigrant who worked her ass off for years to get citizenship and has been living away from immediate family for years, reading Ellie’s post annoyed me a little. I wasn’t thinking she was playing the victim until she wrote that but now I do. Yes, there are loads of challenges around being an immigrant but you put up with them for whatever positives you get out of the experience. Nobody forced her to uproot her life to pursue a ‘professional athlete’ dream- there are loads of Crossfitters who make it out of Australia. It is her personal choice to move to a different country and yes, while there could be challenges to it, if you are not happy about it or if it is too much to handle mentally, this has nothing to do with Crossfit HQ’s decision. I am sure it is not great to spend a lot of money on flights to go to the Semifinals in Oz but I don’t see how moving to the US to ‘pursue her dreams’ and HQ’s decision tie in together.
Now I have a conundrum. I love Hiller’s content and presentation. I’ve drifted away from CrossFit. So increasingly I don’t know what he’s talking about.
Yeah, im actually here in Fort Worth, TX and live about 20mins (maybe) from the Dickie's Arena. I looked up the tickets for the Games and they were something like $900 bucks (for all 4 days mind you, but still?!) They did a "Flash Sale" one day, and they were still $700 bucks. I live near there, and would love to go to the Games, but i'm probably just gonna post up somewhere and watch them on tv. I know they gotta make money, and it's a new place for the Games. But Gesus, way too expensive for me!
There is literally a chick in your FB group openly bragging about gaining 30lbs of muscle in 6 months, showing off her muscle gain, weighs more than a lot of men, is essentially begging for a natty or not to down play the fact she is 100% on gear and you haven't said one thing to her, pretty crazy man lol
People in the crossfit space at every level have never been good with taking constructive criticism. Poor affiliate retention? It can't be all the people saying I need to have better hours or not charge a car payment every month. All my athletes are placing worse and worse every year or dropping out of the sport? It can't be that my approach to training isn't productive or sustainable. It's the downside of attracting so many type A personalities, they're all so confident in themselves that they can't accept being wrong.
Andrew hiller is like the Candace Owen’s of CrossFit. Stays “relevant” by having a problem with everything and everyone. It’s exhausting and not what CrossFit is.
