I feel so bad for your channel, I hope that you can stay here on RU-vid. I’ve loved watching your content ever since the pre pikmin 3 wait cycle. Your personality makes these videos fantastic, and it’s the reason I’ve stuck around this whole time. You’re one of the best creators on this site and I’ll miss seeing your videos if you switch to twitch.
Dazz - "By day 31, eveyone is done with the game. The chances of anyone reaching day 61 or 90 is unfathomable" Me - "Yeah...heh heh...unfathomable" *flashbacks to kid me returning to get Louie on day 212*
My first game still exist and is around day 700. I don't think I ever completed it too i just loved to spend days farming pikmin. I remember that I had over 20000 blue and half of that for red and yellow
my save file from when I was like 7-9 is still at 148 days, missing only the dream den treasures, the doomsday apparatus, and some submerged castle ones cause I was horrified of ever going back there. my first real taste of anxiety.
16:25 This applies to Pikmin 1 as well, but there it's a custom script for all 30 days that goes on without you, while it's a simple algorithm of days in the area in this game.
I actually found all of these secrets by accident... I was grinding to increase my numbers and get a lot of bitter spray so I could cheese a lot of the fights... Young me was very afraid of losing pikmin
When I played I remember that I cheesed the bulbears on certain sub level/floors by standing next to the opposite side of a wall that the bulbear was on, and then switching to kill it while it was busy being distracted with the other captain.
I'm fine with him doing videos on any games he's Interested in as long as he doesn't stop Pikmin stuff every now and then or whenever there's actually anything new to talk about. But I agree... Anything to do with Fortnite I will not watch, I'd be embarrassed if someone saw a Fortnite video in my subscription feed.
I just love your content and will be hype for whatever you choose to do, even if it's something traditionally cringy. Honestly I'd watch you play like a minecraft modded survival series or something, you're funny and interesting enough to make it entertaining!
They're not that overpowered... They're _only_ capable of being immune to hazards (which in the grand scheme isn't that useful) and they're rarer if you play the game well.
After getting the White Pikmin, I bring them into every cave, regardless of whether there's poison in that cave. I've made the mistake of not bringing Whites into Citadel of Spiders only _once._ That's why I now bring Whites into every cave! Plus, many caves with buried treasures have Ivory Candypop Buds every time you enter, just in case you don't bring any Whites.
This video and the precedent one explain to me why I didn't enjoy Pikmin 2 as much as 1 and 3. For example, while I did like the addition of two new Pikmin, I was like "Oh there's a fight? Got to bring purple...again...", or "Oh damn, these final sublevels are so unfair; oh man, I'm losing so many Pikmin to this one stupid thingie; oh look, now there's a boss; oh no, I'm out of Pikmin because I can't restock unless I reset the game. And I can't go back in time. Cool!" In short, the game frustrated me so much in the final area (right before and during the final boss fight) that I couldn't handle it anymore and instead watched the fight and the final cutscene on RU-vid. If you ask me, when a game is so frustrating that it makes you stop playing because it brings more pain than fun, it's not a game anymore. It's a job, a chore, that you have to complete because you need to. Except for the fact that you can quit games. And leave them in your mind in a very negative form. How sad.
@@davidbronstein2040 I might be biased, since 3 was the first one I played and 1 the second, but, my personal ranking for the games is 3 - 1 - 2. I don't like to be too stressed out when playing a single player game, if it is too unfair I might drop it indefinitely. While it's true that 1 was technically harder because of the time limit, at least it wasn't unfair...not as much as 2 anyway. I was able to finish 1 eventually (but I don't want to play it ever again, still too anxious for my nerves) and I finished 3 multiple times, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish 2, even though I was pretty much centimeters away from the ending but couldn't reach it because of that idiotic final boss. I think that says a lot about the flaws of the game.
fun little factoid if you play through pikmin 2 with out losing any purple pikmin and you go through all other area's caves and the 1st one in WW you will have 100
My first playthrough of Pikmin 2 it took me 74 days to get every treasure. I’d spent days just growing pikmin, and in the quest to get 100 purples I didn’t know you could infinitely go back and forth into the subterranean complex for more, and figured you’d have to wait a few days after each time for the purple flowers to regrow. That same file is on Day 133 cause I just like growing pikmin a lot
I'm sorry but 18:00 is the intended way to kill that boss, otherwise it's impossible to get behind it. Why do you think he changes color to the current active captain? I pretty much agree with everything else.
I really like this game design analysis! It would be great if you could do this for other series! I would still really like constant Pikmin content though.
Sort of funny what you say about no one getting to day 61.. Haaa, kid me LOVED Pikmin 2. I spent hours just running around and grinding for pikmin or sprays. I was over a hundred days in. I was so far in that the game actually ran out of messages to send me and started looping the same one over and over. Funny enough, that's what got me to stop. The last message is Olimar's wife going on about how much she loves him and just wants him to come home. After seeing that repeat a ridiculous amount of times, I felt too guilty to keep Olimar away. Man I spent a lot of time playing... And the time to get that many days in isn't even accounting for the fact that I hated to have my pikmin die. I wouldn't let them fight anything in caves if I could help it. I'd run around levels killing absolutely everything possible with the punch. Just slapping that big fat bulborb again and again and again for who knows how long. I would also regularly skip bosses since I couldn't punch them to death, and would clear out every enemy in entire caves 3 or 4 times before I got brave enough to actually fight the boss. I can't imagine doing that now!
Dazz if most people are pikmin fans maybe do some PIKMIN challenges maybe for pikmin 3 do a no death no spray and no multitask challenge or for pikmin 1 do a 9 day challenge (please don't do that one because it will make my 10 day run look bad) or for pikmin 2 no purples for combat Your only acceptable purple combat is water wraith or beat the game without the treasure gauge. If you do consider these possible videos I'm sure your fans and I would love it. Also I hope everyone is having a excellent day. :)
Dazz I found all of those time secrets and thought they were a cool secrets, I can understand that from your prospective that there bad, But I think that there better that nothing and are still cool. Also yes I did play pikmin 2 that slowly: When I was 3/4 I played Pikmin 2 all the time and then my save with 300+days was corrupted. I agree with a lot of what you said, but those secrets were the extra mile that made my day.
It actually funny, apart from poison gates, poison as a hazard is pointless, or at the very least not very intrusive. If you perfectly toss a different Pikmin on a poison generator and whistle them off you can slowly destroy the generator without whites.
and to think, allot of these problems can be avoided. example being that one floor with a butt load of bomb traps. have 30-35 whites to start. use one white to trigger the pikmin traps and player traps. backtrack and get the rest of the whites. swarm the treasure with whites and as the bomb dweevil falls the pikmin carrying the treasure will haul ass away and you can flee to safety. the bulbear trap you can simply get it to walk right off the edge. Ranging Bloyster problems? throw a few purples at it's face and call them back after they bounce. much easier and can be done with one captain
Hey Dazz! So, what about more reviews? But shorter and easier to make than those you already do, however, not as short as that Overwatch review for example and not as long as the Hey! Pikmin review. Something that just informs the game and which you leave your opinion on it (for example, AntDude's Pokepark videos [btw please make a series of that]).
I love your vids, Dazz. I'be been watching since your Pikmin 3 trailer analysis! I hope your channel survives, but I understand. I enjoy your top 10 lists and things like that. I'd like to see videos with opinions on other games like your Breath of the Wild video.
In my first playthrough I was only in the second overworld area around day 20, rescued Louie around day 60, and had 100% completion of all caves and surface areas around day 70.
@@Nic_2751 It's not impossible not to. It's possible to keep failing at the first cave enough to not get the globe on Day 2, and the game doesn't force you to go to the Awakening Wood on Day 3 even once it's unlocked. More likely when writing my original comment a year ago, I was just thinking "I was still not into the _third_ overworld area yet even by day 20, still _only in_ the second". That sounds more like my first playthrough.
I believe that traps only come in 2 varieties. 1) Step Traps - They activate when a captain or a pikmin steps in the "trapped" area. I can understand thinking that pikmin would be needed to spawn a trap, but that's only because with a crowd the chances of the exact spot being stepped on are increased. 2) Treasure Move Traps - They activate when a treasure is first picked-up and moved. They do not spawn on the "path back".
There are 4 (technically 7) types of traps (1 going unused), according to the in-game files. 1. When a pikmin or captain steps near it 2. When only a pikmin steps near it 3. (unused) When only a captain steps near it 4. Purple pikmin stomp near it.
You should have also stated how electricity is broken compared to all other elements since it is insta-kill to the non-yellow Pikmin. Also a minor complaintbis how Olimar's character wasn't as fleshed out as Pikmin 1, thus making him look like an empty shell of a character. Thanks for the vid anyways though. :)
Maybe you could do a ton of different Nintendo games and popular games as well? Like you analyze some things but maybe you could do more Nintendo series you enjoy!
What if in Pikmin 4 they have a sort of breeding mechanic that allowed you to kind of join together 2 pimmin types, but to do this you would have to put those pikmin out of use for a while
keep up the good work! really enjoy your videos! As for more generic videos super smash bros ultimate seems to be pretty popular at the moment so if you made a video discussing your picks for new characters that might be quite popular.
Maybe I am just slow, but I found the beady-long legs in Perplexing Pool just playing the game. After that, I was attacked by the Spotty Bulbear. I was a little scared of Perplexing Pool after that.
Please start analyzing other Nintendo games you like. Just like how you have done in the past with the Pikmin Series. Also, I still watch all of your Pikmin content.
Actually, Pikmin 3 has better than a low third person: it has a first-person camera!! Granted you can't do anything except take pictures, but at least you can get a better view of the most beautiful Pikmin game.
Dazz, you could do videos on Nintendo's other franchises like animalcrossing or zelda. Or maybe smash brothers. Or you could do something with Minecraft.
weirdly I noticed when you mentioned your vids were invisible (which I think is odd) I looked down, and noticed for some reason I was no longer subscribed... Maybe some kind of weird glitch? Anyways I resubbed and hope you will get through this! Also, can someone explain to me what he means with his vids are invisible?
What is it with third generations/games having not that many creature from the second generation/games? Most of the bosses in Pikmin 2 are not in Pikmin 3 and in mh3 only the rates and diablos returned yes more came back in mh3u but because my only my games are mh3u (formerly I lost it) and mhgu demo, I never fought fatalis, or gypceros, or Khrushchev, or crabs
Wait wait wait wait wait... We're supposed to ring the bell? You're telling me, the RU-vid algorithm effects how often your videos get shown based on how many people opt to have notifications (or am I just misunderstanding)? Or is it just a fancy way of saying that if you get notified you'll be more likely to watch them...
@@lasercraft32 i think they made the bell a thing to combat the issues with peoples videos not being in anyone’s recommended but it kinda came with its own problems
Dazz as we wait for pikmin 4 you could incorporate gameplay and commenting of other games into your channel. Theorizing is your forte so use it on your advantage like in smash. I would really hate to lose you and your content........hang in there bro.....
*Says how annoying the Puffstool is in Top 10 Most Annoying Bosses In Pikmin* *Says how much he misses the Puffstool in this video* Dazz are you sure you are thinking straight?
As a Pikmin 2 fan, i have to say: Your "the Game doesnt tell you, you need to dig" point doesnt stand I NEVER had this problem, becouse there where ALLWAYS white Candy pop buds (I think the Pikmin Flowers are called Candy pop buds in english, idk diffrent language) Besides of this, i enjoyed the vid (Like)
I dunno why you would complain about a small and unintrusive easter egg. :p It's not like you have to find the secret bugs to complete the Piklopedia or anything. That complaint just comes off as really petty and nitpicky.
Dude its not like you need the white pikmin except for like 7 treasures lol pikmin 2 is the best one, btw man love ur channel been watching since you were guessing what pikmin 3 was gonna be like lol
3:00 yeah i never really understood how you were suposed to kill this guy i just sent my red pikmins across the water hoping it would be far enough ( it wasn't) and whistled the drowning ones, it was kinda messy...
Hey daz your a really cool RU-vider and I wolud really like a play through of zombies ate my neighbors any your awsome and here's a pikmin4 idea how about a tan pikmin that colud be restent to quick sand and sand storms
I feel like many of these "problems" you point out are a bit nitpicky. Even worse is how some of these points are flat out repeated/copied from your first video on problems with pikmin 2.
I'd say, the problem with Withe Pikmin isn't only that they're poisonous, is that and that they're scarce and so prominent in the Adventure, and they want us to use them on that.
Not to make matters worse but, you said that some of your sub never see your updates. Weird, as I'm not even subbed yet your videos pop up everywhere in my feed. Guess I might not even subscribe then. FailTube strikes again.
