The scene with the cop car was eye opening to me. The car appeared and me and my dad both said "Fuck, and he's dead, he was so close" and then he made it out because it was his friend. Something I really loved about the color theory: when Chris meets Logan he’s wearing a blue ribbon in his hat, but almost at the same time the old lady gives him something wrapped in red, which enters Logan’s suit... enters inside of him. So, why would Jordan want to do that? Easy, because when Logan receives the flashlight from Chris, he starts to bleed from his nose, the red is exiting his body and now he is really him. Also, the red sweater from Rose (a beautiful RED flower that can hurt you) and the blue shirt from Chris (Christ, that’s the part of Chris in all of this, he’s the liberator. Plus, his last name is Washington, just as the liberator of the USA) form a sad USA flag

I’m really glad Peele changed the ending. Horror movies that put characters through so much and then don’t even let them Earn Their Happy Ending just bum me out. The bait and switch of the cop/Rod was amazing too. First you think it’s police and you already know where it’s heading. Then it’s, finally, Rod which gives great pay-off to both that cop-scare and the entire Rod B-plot.

@@randallreed7862 I totally agree. I get that it sorta would have been realistic, because when I saw the red and blue light my stomach immediatley dropped, because everyone in the audience knew how that looks. But Rod was the one lifeline Chris had. He knew where he was and was, although jokingly, concerned with his well-being. It would have been a loose end if Rod had just accepted that Chris never left Rose's parents house.

The title is "This is bad" so they're not going to say "Well they did this right." Either all of it is terrible, or none of it is. Despite a title like CinemaWins, I feel like he's very fair and isn't just kissing the movie's ass for being a competently made film. During filming, to find out what kind of person she was playing, she asked Peele 'Would continue this if her parents died?' someone probably already pointed this out but when they hit the deer and chris walks out to see it, his shoes have blue laces. to everyone else it might just look like a style chose (with the primary blue coloring to red which is still symbolic) but it’s lace coding of shoes, especially docs. blue means anti-racism and anti-fascism and many more things (yellow also means this ). if his laces were any other color it would still mean something. for example red means neoNazism and pro fascism and again many more things. just a cool detail cuz of how colors play into this film

@conspiracypanda1200
@conspiracypanda1200 Год назад
@@sturm9087 I'm months late to a question asked of a 2 year old comment, but I did some quick research on this. What it all seems to point to as an origin is England in the 80's. It started with reggae and ska, which started to have anti-racism messages more prominently in their music. This created a schism of skinheads where the racist ones broke off and listened exclusively to something else. These skinheads also decided to wear white laces to symbolize white power. The remaining skinheads, who still listened to the ska and reggae, got pissed that they were getting lumped in with the racists and started wearing yellow laces to say "hey! I'm not with them and I don't support them!" This subculture war then spread to the USA and other places, with the shoelace colours being adopted with them. Red does indeed stand for Nazis and NeoNazis because it originally meant the wearer had "spilled blood for the white race". After all, wearing white laces while you mob and kick a man to death = your laces are gonna get stained red. Blue, meanwhile, is interesting because it comes with multiple interpretations. It either means that the wearer has killed a cop/is anti-cop, or it could mean the wearer is anti-racist. Another interpretation claims that the wearer is sXe, a "Straight Edge", meaning they don't drink, smoke, do drugs, ect while doing their usual punk stuff. There was also an article I found about "nautical punks" who interpret blue laces as meaning the wearer had a friend die at sea. Tbh everything I look up about blue laces has people doubting the modern definition, but I think regardless of if it's true or not, the most well-known one one is the interpretation of the wearer being anti-cop or a cop killer.
@sturm9087
@sturm9087 Год назад
@@conspiracypanda1200 huh thats pretty interesting. So red and yellow laces were used by neonazis to separate each other from the different groups. The blue laces to me sound like an unrelated movement to the red and yellow laces of the neonazis. It sounds like something the black panthers in the US would have done although I don’t know if they actually did. Never would have suspected this all started over reggae music.

My theories. Yall have probably heard some of these. 1. The fruit loops is hinting of not mixing whites with colors. 2. White ppl in black cars, reminiscent of white people in black bodies 3. The reason Dean hated dears so much saying “one down, another 100k to go” he hates the deer so much because people used to call black people “buck” and buck is another word for a deer. 4. This is the one horror movie director that actually doesn’t add nudity to every scene. I hate horror movies but I can respect this one

So, I followed the link, subscribed to curiosity stream, and. Cool. What did I miss? I see a lot of educational content, but cinema wins is not found? Where's Nebula, the platform? Where did I go wrong? EDITED TO ADD: I didn't check my email is where I went wrong

This was a great video, but I'm sad you didn't even mention the composer Michael Abels. He wrote a great score and he's one of the few black composers to write for a Hollywood movie.
