She was expressing extreme emotion verbally with no facial expression to show this. This seems like something out of the uncanny valley to most people, because she seems not quite human. In all honestly this probably should have been sinnned; as expressing emotion verbally without making the expression on at least your mouth is difficult. I'd let it slide though, as I doubt the creator struggles with seeming genuine and emotional on the telephone.
it was great commentary on how the aggressors in hate crimes will try and twist the narrative- rod is a REALLY sophisticated parody of the cliche '' i told you not to be fuckin with them white folx '' guy and he is written SO damn well
That's not how this works! He's supposed to sin the problems, not reward the movie for every little thing it got right. I know we don't get that watching this video, but that's how it's worked historically...
If it's not the most he's removed, it's close. And he's sinned movies with much better performances and moments that he didn't remove sins for. It would be ridiculous to remove sin for the Georgina thing- it was a pretty standard horror movie clue/foreshadowing thing.
3:35 Jordan Peele confirmed that the Grandfather was obsessed with Jesse Owens and beating his time in the '36 olympics that's why he spent all his time running.
It didn't make sense that as Dean said, grandpa never got over losing to Owens in the qualifying rounds. In the prelims and semis, more than one person per heat advances.
The scene where Rose object to the cop asking for Chris' ID isn't just a ruse to gain trust - it's to try prevent there bring any official record of Chris ever having been there.
That scene doesn't make any sense. Why would you call a cop if you hit a deer somewhere in the middle of what looks like a least traveled road? It's a deer, not a person. They could have just bounced off to avoid leaving trace of identification.
Photographer here; I've often and regularly have forced the flash on a camera phone. In bright sunshine the high contrast light is unflattering; you turn on the flash to fill in shadows and reduce the contrast. So the use of the flash by a guy who is a professional photographer... completely logical.
If you see his face in that moment you can notice that subtlely shrinks his face, the flash was an accident, he was trying to take the picture for his friend
my theory about why he hated the deer is that in the early stages of a highly risky medical experiment such as this, they would obviously go through trial and error, and since they most likely would consider white peoole to be too good to test on, they would test on animals, animals that are local to them, which would be deer as the dad describes. this would most likely also have been a person that rose had to date to bring back to the house. so, i think that once the black person, being inside the deer, saw that chris was with rose, he ran out ahead of their car and darted in front of it so as to prevent their trip, thinking if he caused enough damage the car would be unworkable or maybe chris would be too shaken up and want to turn back, or he’d give the officer his id yk something. he basically sacrificed himself for chris. which would also explain why the deer looked at chris like that, also as if it was trying to say something. which is why when rose tells her dad that they hit and killed a deer, he’s elated because less evidence of their immoral experiments remains, also showing how little he values black lives, using the deer as a sort of double entendre for that.
@@jaredtoussaint4294 Okay yes... it's a very intersting theory, but deer anatomy (from my experience of watching my family skin/prepare deer) is nothing close to what human anatomy is. Also, deer are very dumb. Like - the dumbest. I don't thing whoever was placed into a deer body would even be able to form a complete thought. Not trying to be a debbie downer. Still - I like the theory a lot.
Gonna clear this up - the deer has WAY more meaning than this. Lookup the multiple disgusting uses for the term "buck". There's also more layers to it.
@@TheCraphater The way this movie is an onion with such intricately woven layers absolutely blows my mind! Like when Rose took a stance against that police officer - at first, without much context, it seemed altruistic. But in reality, she just didn't want a paper trail! I hope more people with my skin color can do a bit more research and try a little harder to become allies. 💖
Jessica K I just checked the alternative ending and I'm glad they kept the original one. It was more satisfying and using the other one would have just a downer.
Camera flashes makes the black guys snap out of hypnosis, blind guy wants the protagonist's eyes, blind guy is a photographer.... you see the problem with his plan?
chris can see and he would be in chris's body so he could see again thats the entire reason he wants chris to see. so yes he would be able to see the flash
Tyler Johnson the flash presumably has to be completely toward you. If you're a photographer, the flash is happening in front of you toward whomever you are taking a photo of. Behind the camera you only see a bit of the flash. There's no way to know if that's enough to bring the victim from the sunken place. But presumably it isn't since it is such a weak amount of flash.
The transformation of Rose was brilliant. Throughout the movie, she acts as if she is oblivious to what is going on and acts as a very caring girlfriend. But the moment the truth comes out, she is completely transformed; her expression less face when she talks to Chris' friend though her voice conveys the right emotions was amazing.
This movie has 98%, which is 4 more % then the dark Knight and 11% more the dark Knight rises. You want to tell me, this movie is better then both of them? Or maybe it got it's high %, because this movie is about racist White people, and poor oppressed black people, which caters to the sjw and all those other lunis agenda. I'll go with the second option.
@@stefanmihic6153 just to further exemplify rotten tomatoes bias. The show " dear White people" got 99%. Wouldn't trust them too much on ratings. Especially if the movie/show has a smell of sjw and libertarian smell over them.
1:40 you should remove an additional sin when you realize she's not just trying to earn his trust, but rather avoiding a paper trail. Had the cop run both their licenses, there would be a record that Chris and Rose were together before his eventual disappearance.
the problem with that is she was the one that called the cops in the first place and if you did not want a paper trail why would you even call the authorities in the first place?
They picked African Americans because the grandfather lost in the olympics to a African American so from then on he thought black was superior in genetics
Sin number 4 is wrong.... they weren't driving hoping for a victim, it was a set up. The girl he was on the phone to was probably Rose herself. She purposely gave him the wrong address. You can hear it in the convo saying "Why would they put Edgewood way, so far from Edgewood Lane" They directed him to the wrong place, maybe his Uber dropped him there, but was forced to walk the rest of the way to the "real" address. Same thing when Rose wouldn't give the police guy Chris' ID... its not to protect him, its so there isn't a trail to where he was last seen.... clever So... sin number 2 is also incorrect
@@henrikpors191 the police officer could be in on it, thats a possible theory. But the bit at the start, I'm pretty certain I'm not wrong. And the 2 scenes you're talking about are completely separate. I suggest you watch it again with subtitles and listen to the phone conversation right at the beginning. Its very clear he's been set up to be left vulnerable in an area he doesn't know.
Comedians have a huge dark side to them, hence why they're funny, because they deflect their negative emotions with humour. See: Robin Williams, Michael Keaton, Jim Carrey, Peter Sellers, etc.
The reason that she didn't want to let hum give his id is because his info would be with the cops and they would know his whereabouts just before he went missing. Peele has an excellent attention to detail.
Omg I said that exact thing in a different part of the comment section! I heard Peele confirm it in a video where he read fan theories on Reddit, Jordan Peele is an artist!
It really wasn't that hard to tell that rose didn't want to give the cop his info because of the trail. I mean you just have to watch the movie for about 10 min after that and its pretty obvious what Mr. Peele is doing. It's not that creative or clever.
Anne Manning it is clever because it could have been percieved that she didnt want to give the cop his id bc she wanted to gain his trust by defending him from discriminatory actions. It is clever bc it has a double meaning
Andre just yelling "GET OUT" is totally sensible in my opinion. Only a small piece of him is im there. Even though the flash took him out of the trance he's still extremely traumatized and probably cant communicate clear thoughts.
agreed. like how the fuck is he able to come up with something brilliant in 5 seconds? it's like waking up from a deep sleep and being able to say something great.
It's funny cuz i said the same thing at him after the scene where he has a chat with Georgina in the bedreoom about unplugging his phone and she briefly starts weeping, but then regains control. I was like "Yep, that is some twilight zone shit right there bro, GET THE FUCK OUT!" :)
@@goatx3215 that's actually an established tv trope where the story the character is telling to someone with the power to solve it is, in fact, true (in rod's case somewhat) but the subject matter is so far fetched that the "power" immediately doxes it and is forced to put matters into their own hands.
emmmm....yeah, though whoever "bought" Chris' body is going to take immediate control of it-as we see with Stephen Root's character. A few hours of Chris not smoking isn't going to make any difference.
ALL POINTS ARE TRUE except ONE POINT MISSING, being that a PSYCHOPATHIC, SELF ENTITLED, NARCISSISTIC MEGALOMANIAC PERSONality TYPE, uses ANNNNY "EXCUSE" to TRy to JUSTIFY THEIR PREMEDITATED VIOLENCE! They kept SPEAKING OF THE SMOKING AS IF HE WAS A BAD INFLUENCE...it was ALL IN HOW THE DAD LOOKED AT HIM & how the mom STATED, "YOU KNOW, THAT'S MY BABY"!!!....after INQUIRING about his SMOKING! A SMOKESCREEN, to JUSTIFY THEIR PREMEDITATED PIC NIC AUCTION.
The movie's ending where it shows Rose dying on the street is brilliant. Chris just decided to leave her to slowly die on the street, just like how his mother died.
5:50 in case you were curious, the lady brought the black man with her because that's her husband in him and she's showing him off to the crowd like "Look how well the surgery worked!" kinda deal. The Armitage's were so confident they would get Chris no matter what he thought that they didn't care if the other guy acted weird; it was more important they display their success.
there's so much subliminal shit. my favorite one is how he kills the dad with a deer. remember the beginning and his feelings about deer? need I say more?
Jerry Colvin also he hates deer. deer as in bucks.. back in the day, a buck was a term used for unruly african americans that would not bow to white supremacy. Slaves that refused to obey, etc. this movie is so deep its scary.
Jerry Colvin This movie is as deep as your intellectual compass which is shallow as fuck. You guys need to off yourselves for being this invested in engendering some hidden meaning behind every scene and word. Fucking idiots.
Un Homme Guys like your are just as much an embarrassment, probably even more so, than the shit we fight oversea's. Grow the fuck up and don't try to praise America, because we sure as shit don't want a racist little shithead like you here. Also, I liked the movie.
The beginning scene is actually brilliant once you realize that Andre is lost there strategically thanks to Rose and that’s why Jeremy is conveniently there
Regarding the issue of how could they be certain that Chris would sneak out in the middle of the night for a smoke - actually, I think they could be pretty sure. I used to wonder why they bothered to show Rose picking up coffee and muffins before going to Chris' place to pick him up. Now I think it was to establish that they were leaving first thing in the morning. When he tries to smoke in the car, she takes away his cig. So you have a guy who is a regular smoker, is in a freaky situation AND he hasn't smoked since maybe early that morning? It's a good bet that he would sneak out in the middle of the night.
Replying to my own comment, just to add that this is another thing that you see differently once you know what Rose is up to. When I first saw the scene where she takes away Chris' cig in the car, I thought, that's pretty heavy handed, but OK, her parents don't approve of smoking and she wants him to make a good impression and not reek of cigs. Later you realize she actually wanted to get his craving really high so he would be guaranteed to sneak out for a smoke that night.
I thought it was just that he would not have nicotine on his system and be in good condition for no inconvenience to the person who'll get to use his body
The scene of all the family members arriving wasn't just the "everyone drives black SUV's cliche" it was symbolically showing how they drive in "black bodies". Jordan Peele discussed this in an interview
It occurs to me that all those black sedans following one another is really like a funeral. A funeral...for Chris? I mean, they have his big picture at the auction, kinda like a memorial. And it is, essentially, Chris's last day as Chris...
*when the dad says “black mold is in the basement” that seems like a reference to the black bodies down there that are being used as the “molds” for the white people
Jim wanting Chris' "eye" is also a comment on how Jim, due to his blindness, is literally "colourblind" and possibly therefore the least racist person among the Armitages' customers. And yet, despite not being able to "see colour", he's still doing the most damage to Chris.
But he still only regards chris for his physical attributes it's not his eyes that help him be a great photographer it's his brain and that's what's being removed
Katelyn Mckellips exactly. Beat me to it.. the actor who played that woman actually intimated that motivation in an interview on late night television. That her character didn't want Chris to give up his ID because she didn't want to create a paper trail linking her to him
abryant actually the Jordan Peele the writer/director of the movie said the real reason was to truly hide the paper trail, although I also first thought it was to point out the racial profiling that occurs
Abi Luftig Or maybe it had something to do with getting out of the sunken place? The sunken place could be metaphorical for a whole host of things in itself.
The other thing is, had Andre explained to Chris he had been kidnapped, they would have to capture Chris there and then since they would know that Chris now knows something is wrong
The scene with Rose trying to make the policeman not take Chris’s ID was to ensure that there wasn’t a paper trail connecting the two, not to give Chris false trust. (This was confirmed in an interview) Such a good movie
Ben Wrobel It's really clever because initially I thought it was a scene about her "defending" him to the cops, to really emphasize that she was "not a racist" for her own self image, and making it all much worse while ignoring the what the person who was actually at risk thought. Your idea makes so much sense, so does the assumption that she was trying to earn his trust because that's definitely what a "not a racist" would think they are doing. The sin count should be in the negative I swear.
And if I were CInemasins and you were a movie director that hired me, I'd instruct you to make the most entertainingly horrible movie of all time while convincing you it was turning out flawless, so I could then make a CinemaSins video about it and get the highest view count for the channel yet.
Rose didnt defend Chris from the Cop to gain his support, She didnt want the Cop to write down Chris's name, so if people called asking about him, there wouldn't be a paper trail.
Write his name down for what and where? As far as im concerned, he just wanted to check his ID, no? So Rose definitely did that to further amplify her "im so not racist" act
@@_Mayibongwe have you never had a cop take your id? They run it, scan it, photocopy it, carbon date it, mf memorialize it. They make sure it's recorded that they got a hand on your id.
@@VideoKilledTheHeros Lol that's too much, only if you did something really serious that would make them do all of that shit. Yeah I know, the deer incident but Chris wasn't behind the wheel.

This symbolism and double triple meaning in this movie is incredible. The deer, the mom story at the end and how she’d lying there in the closing shot dying and he drives off (like his mom was lying there but he couldn’t save her and he doesn’t save her) as a way of overcoming his grief also using the deer antler in one of the murders haha just amazing
I only just watched Get Out and I was wondering why he looked familiar. Thanks for letting me connect the dots because it was bugging me the whole time I was watching
Yeah, that's obvious, but why does he have to do that shit in the middle of the night in full land keeper gear? No one in the house had a pair of sweats that grandpa could borrow?
He was still in his work clothes because it was about being efficient. They chose the black people because their bodies. He's running at night because he does the work in the day. And yes they coordinated the party because it's not.
I loved this movie so much because you could tell something was wrong but you can't tell WHAT is wrong until the reveal and it's so unique and the second time watching it you can see so many subtle hints to the overall reveal and it's just so AWESOME.
You can easily tell pretty much everything that was going to happen from the opening scene, lol. Right down to Rose being involved. Hypnotist mother, Rose wearing striped (hypnosis) type clothing, and knowing there has to be an antagonist/her parents aren't likely to target her means it logically would have to be her.
I've seen it pointed out that is why all the guests warmly hug the groundskeeper when they get to the party - because he is their friend, the grandfather!
Don't forget all the "smoking is bad" thrown in throughout the movie. They want their subjects to not smoke so they can be healthier and probably make the person more desirable. Weird point I have yet to see anyone notice or comment on.
Wow, I didn't even catch the hidden detail that Rod did the opposite of Chris by tracking him down right away when he was worried. Truly an incredible movie 👏
Jordan Peele said the reasoning behind it was as follows: "He envisioned the villain Rose as an emotionally stunted woman with the mentality of a teenager." She was doing the sort of thing she'd do as a kid, because you have to be pretty mentally fucked up to pretend to build relationships with people, multiple times, only to lure them to be killed. www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/la-et-mn-get-out-milk-horror-jordan-peele-allison-williams-20170301-story.html

I just broke up with my white girlfriend because of this movie. she wanted me to meet her parents in a big house in the woods. the movie probably saved my life. Thanks👍
Jacob Staten same I remember the first time I dated a black girl I went over her house and the parents just looked at me like I was the devil and they asked to talk to her privately it was actually flattering in a way I felt intimating lol it just made me fuck her harder tbh
that was actually the original ending! instead of his friend an actual cop car came and chris went to jail. it was filmed and everything but wasn't nearly as good and i'm so happy they changed it.
I get that when Andre snapped out of the trance he should of said something more helpful but he has just snapped out of a trance and sees a close friend in the same situation no wonder he freaked out
He did remove a bunch of sins but I think this one movie deserved it. not only cause it was good. but it was a good HORROR film. u know how rare those are nowadays??
The Conjuring 2, Don't Breathe, Split. Haven't seen Lights Out but heard it's good. Also Hush is pretty good. Get Out is definitely the best but there have been other good horror movies.
PunkExMachina it's also so rare to see movies nowadays that are completely original. most of the movies you see now are remakes or based off a book but this movie was completely from peele's mind and his experiences which i think is so cool.
The Witch is amazing even if it flew over Jeremy's head. It Comes at Night is so intricately crafted, nuanced, and minimal that it blows anything out of the water. Don't Breathe takes a simple, exploitative genre from the 70s and revamps it into a killer contemporary horror movie. It Follows is an insanely tense, simplistic story. Good horror movies come out all the time. Hell even Alien Covenant had some damn good scares, I appreciated the small hints to the reveal that happen at the very end.
The movie is not good. It`s boring and pointless, and it is not a horror movie, is kind of a sci-fi thriller. The reason why so many people liked it was because racism is one hot topic, and people confuse relevant theme with narrative quality.
The black dude that yells "get out" has been in a state of watching his life go by in a sunken place that goes dark whenever the other guy inside him closes his eyes. I think that wasnt a moment of clarity but just a realisation that he has control but will very soon lose it again and return to the sunken place. He is so desperate the only expected reaction would be exactly that, to panic and repeat the noly thing that gets through his head.
Ignacio Roca He had gained consciousness in that moment because of the camera flash and was able to control his body for a moment. When he saw another black man he knew what they were going to do to him so he screamed "GET OUT" as a warning. He was trying to protect him but they had to hypnotize him so his consciousness would be trapped in the sunken place again and he would loose control of his body.
At the end of the movie, the "grandpa" shoots Rose as you've seen, then shoots himself before he loses control again in an attempt to save the protagonist's life from another attack by grandpa.
If you actually think about it, they technically were raping their victims- that old white lady was having sex with Andre's body (containing her husband's brain) while he was powerless to do anything about it. That actually makes the whole thing even darker than it already is.
Andre is out there because he's dating Rose. So her brother isn't driving around looking for random strangers to kidnap. He knew exactly where to look because she set Andre up
Who noticed that all the white friends were driving inside black cars to the party, a reference to how the white people would essentially be in a black body
The reason why I think those black guys in the pictures were not at the party is because they died during the operation. The reason I think this is because on Andrews neck, you can see it has the Roman numeral 3 (III). Possibly saying that he is the third successful launch of their extremely dangerous transplant, since maybe both Georgina and Walter (the grandma and grandpa) were number 1 and number 2 of their transplant. But, this is just a theory 😜
Tori E Just looked up his tattoos and yeah I guess it could be just coincidental, or maybe done on purpose? Cause he has other tattoos and that was the only one that they didn't cover up. I just thought this tied in well with the whole premise of why those people were not at the party.
Narumaki66 He noticed that the air conditioning was off then on then off again in the car. Talk about having eagle eyes, DOUBLE DAMN! Movie detective of the decade! LOL!
if you haven't already, watch this movie twice. Jordan peele has a lot of Easter eggs hidden throughout the film, and the second time you watch it, its a whole other experience
You should remove the sin of when she fights the cop about seeing Chris' license, she didn't do it to gain his trust, she did it so there was no record of him ever being there
- Pretty sure in the opening scene he's looking for the white girlfriend's house, which is Jeremy knew he'd be there (remember all of the people that are captured have relationships with Rose (whether romantic or not) - Rose *might* have defended Chris in front of the cop for trust, but I was thinking it was cause she didn't want him in the police records - That trapped in the closet thing was GENIUS It makes me happy that you've reviewed this movie.
No in the movie they said he was a musician, or something, in pretty sure they said he did a show nearby and got lost in the neighborhood. In the movie they mentioned he had a girlfriend
loveislouderrrrr he was talking to his girlfriend in the opening scene whether it was rose or not. He called her and told her he was looking for the house, and they talked a little, and then hung up and walks around looking for the house
I'm not a professional photographer and even I know that flash is not for taking pictures in the dark but to actually fill in the darks that can still appear when taking pictures under the sun, the shadows tend to be harder and hide details
my movie theater was so ethnic when I saw this movie, we were clapping when he killed the Armitiges and everyone went quiet when the cop car pulled up and cheered when it was actually Rod
Jevon Jameswhite I mean us white folks went quiet too... because he just had a gun I'm his hands, there's a white woman bleeding on the ground, and he's black... you can see her grimace as he raises his hands in the air in what you can tell he thinks is the most POINTLESS gesture- you can tell they both think he's about to get shot several times even though he dropped the weapon and put his hands up- and you know what, that's Jordan's genius. he knows we know this is the situation in America, and it's fucked up. they both assumed, as we did, he was going to get shot. then he didn't, it was rod to save the day. so there's our terrible situation between cops and people (not all of either ) and then all of our terrible assumptions (including him and her) because of our current situation. the whole scene was arguably the most relevant, pointed, and illuminating scene in the movie.
Zach Young oh my gosh you should have. the theater I attended also had those SAME reactions at those points. those last 15 minutes were fucking genius.
Well, you'd get shot if you were found next to a person bleeding out with a gun in your hand, regardless of your skin color, dude. Stop pretending this is special.
Twimbo The ironic fact is that the Phone also saved him..... Only explanation for how Rod found Chris.... Used "Find My Phone" to look up location history and/or hacked it and got the GPS signal..... Even maybe looked at a Location GPS tag on the picture Chris luckily sent him. Lol.... The Lumia Phone fucken helped Rod save his ass. Personally I had Lumia 650 myself... Batterylife was average.
Still got my Lumia 920! Been like what, 6~ ish years now i think? Still works perfectly and battery lasts for days as long as i don't use the 4G for too long.
The best foreshadowing part was the story about the Grandfather almost getting over the fact that he lost to an African at the Olympics. Operative word... almost. Also, this movie went in a direction so different than what I expected.
2017 > Step 1: do a racefocused film when the only topic the media has for months is race and terrorism. Step 2: wait till people with an IQ of about 80 call you genius for picking the most obvious topic imaginable at this time. Step 3: Profit the people who call this film genius are probably all trump voters and completly blind to their surroundings
Another thing I thought was cool was that maybe the cop wasn't being an asshole asking to see Chris's license. Maybe he knows about the missing black people in the area. It would have been cool if Peele showed the cop in the end actually on the black mans side. The alternate ending was heartbreaking too. Especially as a black man myself. You could be in the right and still go down for it.
Grandpa running at Chris in the dark was (in my perception) about him possibly thinking maybe Chris was going to try and leave. That’s how I saw it anyway. Once he realized that he was just smoking he turned away and kept running to kind of play it off or something. Remember he tackles him in the ending so yeah...
There’s a theory that when he was still in his original body, the grandpa could not win against an African in a one on one race because of his bodily limitations. Some say that he was a track star but could not manage to beat Jesse Owens who had a more natural athletic body because of his race. Now that grandpa has taken an Africans body, those previous bodily restraints are not there anymore, so he is training again to race.
Ok I'm going to be honest, I had no idea that those were the grandparents until she said "Grandma." And then I was like OMG, and started telling everyone around me and they were like "Yeah I know."
Candle Blogger Mason I knew from the beginning because they hinted that the house was the grandparents and what they were doing only made sense that they were.
I want to comment that he goes the other way because in more ghetto areas (where i live) teachers in school use to teach us to run the opposite way of what the car following you goes because they would have to get back into their car/or turn around to follow you. giving you time to get away
The original ending had the protagonist is arrested because the cops see that he's black, and the white people must be the victims. This explains some of the "why kidnap blacks only." But Peele said that it would be a bit too preachy, so he changed it to the more upbeat ending. I think it was the right decision. Although when I saw the film first, I thought that would be ending, maybe because that's how he was leading us.
I swear I thought Chris would go to jail. But being his 1st movie, I think Peele was right not to kill off his protagonist. Maybe he can switch it up in the future
The fact that he isnt arrested offers that great moment which cinemasins should definitely of taken a sin off for. When the police car arrives you are instantly filled with dread, knowing how incriminating the scene looks which is a clever subversion of the trope of police arriving at the end of a film bringing hope and safety. Then of course you feel this swarm of relief when you see it's Rod. If it was the police and he was arrested this surge of relief couldn't be experienced and the realisation of just how deadly the police can be would not be reached
@@frizen9328 yea that's true but I think being black will hinder him if he explained himself. Obviously if u saw a white guy in his position they would be arrested but the police would be more likely to hear and believe the real story from a white man than a black one
Luis Alimorong Not intentionally though, CinemaSins personally loved this movie. Which is kind of unfortunate. They even said that this is one of the best horror movies of the modern era, people just don’t know how to read
i love how the dad says during the picture exposition "he ALMOST got over it", implying that he remained obsessed with it. man, that movie was incredible.
Grandpa cheated, he took class A black steroids, and he also 80 years late after the starting pistol shot of the 100 dash......lol.......so owens was, is and will always be the GOAT
Yes, we all know that, but it’s still fucking stupid. It’s the middle of the night. This dude isn’t sleeping? Did he wake up as soon as the character walks outside? Where was he running from? Does he just run all the time the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT? Some giant dude is running at you full speed in the middle of the night that you’re already weirded out by and your reaction is to literally just stand there like an idiot until he decides at the very, very last millisecond to change angles? We get why it was happening, but the entire scene/character reaction is fucking retarded. If the grandpa wouldn’t have changed angles at the last second, he would have been COMPLETELY OBLITERATED and been seriously fucked up and injured. Like, wtf? Why do people find this good? Has no watched movies before? Are you all just too busy following the massive pandering going on with this piece of shit movie?
Watch Reservoir Dogs if you want to be impressed by a well executed directorial debut. Others to consider: Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, Citizen Kane...all historical, well executed, elegant first films.
I know this is 2 years old but, cli·ché /klēˈSHā/ noun 1. a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought. "the old cliché “one man's meat is another man's poison.”" Just because it’s used a lot does not mean it’s a bad trope
39- If some random dude came up to you and yelled at you that he was kidnapped and they put some old white dude inside him, would you take him seriously? No. You'd probably immediately assume he was crazy. Saying "Get Out!" was a much better, more well-received warning.
I feel like Chris would've believed him if he'd said, "These people have kidnapped me. Get out." ONLY. Since he'd already been suspicious. But that would've backfired anyway because there's no way in hell he would've been able to escape.
Whitney Wright admittedly I didn't watch the movie so someone please correct me if I'm wrong aren't they switching the brains into another body? If so the bigger "sin" is why would a flash bring out the old person if his brain is in another body or a trash can?
William Hitchcock in the movie the lady who hypnotized him explained that there will still be a piece of you in there but you can't really channel it until you hear or see a trigger (in this case the flash). I believe the blind guy says something about there being a small part of your brain in there as well so that's why the original black people come back.
In defense of replacing liquor with water and no one noticing, I did it and my parents never had the first clue. You have to make sure you leave a certain amount so it keeps the smell. Only way to really tell is if you're drinking it straight. Then it will taste different. If they're only making mixed drinks they'll never know and it also depends on how often they drink. Mine didn't find out until I admitted it at a Christmas party a few years later.
Mia: but he added 7000 sins back on so the movie totalled out at zero I think... or he may have added 14000 sins so it ended up with +7000 :D Akat: Not quite as many sins as he did with Interstellar but those were largely due to Neil Degrasse Tyson chipping in :D Peele deserved EVERY sin off this movie :D This is the kind of projects that I hope to someday start doing.
A lot of people say that Rose standing up for Chris when the cop ask for his I.D. is so that there would be no evidence of him being with her. That actually plays into the ending as well. With what we know about Rose we can assume she has gotten rid of any connection to Chris in the outside world aside from what she has at her house. With the house burning down all that evidence is gone and with the i.d. refusal there is no evidence of him being there and no connection to them whatsoever. That's why I like the original ending rather than the alternate one where he goes to jail.
