What I hate more than TikTok itself is the TikTok-ification of every other social media I use. Facebook, Instagram, YT, etc. It was bad enough when people I followed were ripping tiktok vids to upload and share them directly, but now with shorts/reels/etc, every platform wants to hop on the "tiktok #fyp" train, and now I hardly see content from people and groups I followed, its all just ads and low effort content creators being crammed into my feed.
Im honestly extremely glad that I havent even considered downloading tiktok after seeing the absolute mess its gotten into recently, like youtube definitely has similar issues, but at least it aint that horrid compared to genuine tiktok honestly, appreviate u comin out to talk abt this ongoing issue on tiktok, peace ✌️
i want to use the shorts feature more to make actual decent content, but yeah as of now everyone's just using it to either steal and repost tiktok videos or just make really pointless videos

Honestly, the thing I hate most is the format. I'd accuse RU-vid shorts of this too, and vine if it was still around. The short videos are specifically meant to keep you engaged with the platform for a longer amount of time, as you keep scrolling through it. I also fucking despise the culture that the app has generated.

I recently got dragged to TikTok thanks to my friends lmao, it's so unbelieveable that the algorithm for new users just shows girls shaking their ass until you search for content that you actually want, at least my fyp has been memes, gaming clips, cat videos and aviation related content. BTW since you talked about copyrighted content being distributed on the platform without any restriction, how do you feel about people uploading entire movies to TikTok? I think I pretty much watched the entirety of Top Gun Maverick through clips.

I quit TikTok because of the homophobia I kept seeing on my for you page and also because of the sigma edits, you know those 12-year-old losers that despise women
