I love these tutorials no talking, just enough to understand what and how to play the song, it can be really tiresome to only find tutorials where every little thing is thoroughly explained when theres really no need for it. Cheers mate, great tutorial :)

I totally agree these tutoruial force you to understand the structure of the song, and your more involved rather than just being lead like sheep, my favourite tutorials
@isaacbehringer4629

I disagree. I like it better when the teacher explains what the song is doing. Just saying.

@@isaacbehringer4629 some people don't need to be spoon fed. I've got a weird brain, I don't count for example, just learnt the pyramid song in a few days and read loads of comments with people struggling with the rhythm. I listened to that song every night for a year so it just must be in my head vividly, I already knew how to play the song in my head rhythmically, just didn't know where to put my hands if that makes sense.
@carpathianhermit7228

@@isaacbehringer4629 different brains require different methods, I like the bare bones explanation so I can figure the rest out myself just by actively listening to the song

Hi Gabriel. The sound is coming from a vst, imitating the sound of an electric keyboard. I play with a master keyboard and this vst running on my computer. Hope it helps my friend. Peace. Lio

What key is this in? I initially thought C myxolydian b6, but the Eb doesn't go with Cmyxo, and the E isn't in C minor. Wtf is this

It's just a mixture of chords. Songs almost never stay in the same key, they often borrow chords from other scales/modes. The song is definetely in some sort of C key. What key exactly? It doesnt really matter. It might be in mixolydian b6 like you said. But Db and Eb arent in that scale. Do you know what modal mixture is? We could think of it in C mixolydian b6 (C D E F G Ab Bb) or C phrygian dominant (C Db E F G Ab Bb), and those Db and Eb are being borrowed from C phrygian. Do you know flamenco? In flamenco there is something called the "Andalusian cadence": the chords i bVII bVI V. They don't fit into the same key but it works because the V is just the dominant of the key. You could think of this song as being those V bVI and bVII repeating over and over again: C Db Eb (C Db(b5) Eb6). Do you know what a Picardy third is? It's when a song in a minor key ends on a major tonic instead of a minor tonic: the I instead of the i. You could therefore think of this song as being in C phrygian, but every time we hear the tonic, a Picardy third occurs and we hear a C major instead of a C minor. As you can see there are at least 3 different ways of thinking about this progression. This kind of a progression (I bII bIII) is SUPER common in flamenco and all kinds of film and game music that want to evoke that Spanish flamenco sound. Don't get too hung up on theory. You were confused because these chords didnt fit into one scale. But musicians dont (often) make music by following some arbotrary ruleset. The "rules" come afterwards, and in this case the rules already exist: modal interchange, picardy thirds and the andalusian cadence. All of music theory exists simply to DESCRIBE the music people have made, to understand it, and to help others make music that sounds similar to it, not to dictate which notes you can and cannot play. If you encounter some kind of a weird chord thing like this, just think "wow, cool", learn HOW it breaks the "rules" and move on. Cheers.
