I never watched a Harry Blends video until now and oh my, I'm laughing so hard. Hilarious! Makes it much easier to follow along with the dense topic. Next we should totally have a video from him on how he makes the slick node animations! Thanks as always for making sure we can digest the updates a bit easier!
I have never heard of Harry Blends. I feel ashamed :(. What a great animation about geometry nodes! Thank you Jonathan for covering the news in very fast and comprehensive way!
the viewport transform node would've been awesome in the modifier context, since there's no other way to get viewport info for things like realtime billboarding, per-vertex reflective highlights, or other screen space effects
In the Adobe Animate program, there is the Symbol and Nested Symbol feature, which speeds up work very much, and I did not find anything similar to it in other programs. Is there a similar feature or ability in Grease pencil Pencil?
So excited about all the new features but for some reason I have an issue with NLA :( when trying to make a pose and doing the ''location, rotation, scale'' keying set nothing happens :( no actions, no tracks appearing I don't know what to do
The newer the mixer becomes, the more complicated it becomes and you have to constantly adapt and learn new things. With all the innovations it becomes more and more confusing and you can no longer see through things properly.
Two major revisions after I reported it they still haven't fixed the sluggish grease pencil viewport response time when you have more than one Grease pencil object in a scene. I have a project I had to put aside because the viewport became so sluggish and I've been waiting for them to fix the grease pencil code so it's more optimized.
@@GaryParris and then what, wait for 4.4? Release after release and the sluggish viewport with GP isn't fixed. I've been waiting over a year. Had to shelve the project because the system response time is too slow.
This blender 4.2 is a beta released as official, they should have released it in 2025, it has many bugs and sometimes in large projects it freezes when recording. Note, I have a new PC with an M2 SSD and I noticed that I lost performance. I will continue using version 4.1 until what a good solution to many things
Wish there was a decent Lightwave importer. that supported planar mapping and cube mapping and translated that to blender texture methods... so many old projects I'd like to re-render!
This is all nice, but I still need to put in my 10,000 hours into Blender and basic modeling. I'll do that after I master rotoscoping in AE/PP.. any day now.
This is too overwhelming for beginners,🤕 If you are a beginner, don't worry you are not going to be using everything 😅and you don't have to update now.
i waited for final realse of 4.2, was very excited about new features, specially the raytracing, but today when i tried it, it didn't seems to bring much significant changes in my old projects, also i experienced blender being slowest of all time.
Blender crashes using new evee next render due to graphic card specification or processor output. Any blendhead experiencing this issue? please post here.
Blender 4.0 all different... now and then a program needs to change. 4.1 again... (needed alot of updates for Add-Ons) and now 4.2 ... all Add-Ons gone and a new kind of installation (that could be on 4.0) So whats next with 4.3? I am fed up with this shit.
