I’ve started a windowsill veggie garden in my apartment made from vegetable scraps! Having a routine has helped me. Thanks for continuing the content during all of this!
Our host Myles also really loves his home gardening as a coping strategy. And we are happy to still have our jobs creating what we hope is helpful content for all of our viewers!
"I will allow uncertainty to exist today." Uncertainty helps us learn tolerance, patience, and self-honesty. We have the opportunity to become witnesses to life within and around us. (Steps to Knowledge by Marshall Vian Summers) We are in a time of great uncertainty. Embrace it, knowing it's ok to "not know."
I've been working in home office for years now and due to time zone differences I usually work late hours. This means, that week days haven't actually changed for me due to Covid-19. Only the weekends have changed, as I used to be out pretty much the entire time every weekend - either with friends or family or on my own. The most important part during weekdays for me is *contact* - have as much social interaction with coworkers, friends and/or family. Even if it is just say "Hi". If you talk with coworkers, don't just talk about work, talk about anything, even if it at first feels silly to mention small details - it creates bonds and that is what you need in these times.
I am doing OK. I have been keeping in contact with family a little and entertaining myself. Today, I went outside because it was really nice weather. I raked my yard because it had lots of acorns, sticks, and leaves in it. Plus, I need some exercise since I haven't been going to the gym or working. However, I had a scare the other day. My grandma, who I live with, started breathing heavy and her throat was closing up. I called 911 and she got taken to the hospital. She didn't have coronavirus, but she has strep throat. She's doing better today, but it was scary because I didn't know what was wrong. Other than that, things are good here. I am kind of feeling down sometimes because I don't know when this will end. When it does though, I am going out for sushi and to other restaurants with my brother and grandma.
Your grandma is lucky to have you there to support her. Nurturing healthy family relationships seem so important right now as a way to stay less isolated.
I go to work still as captioning assistant for the caption phone. While I am glad to still have a job, be important and not be in the public. I don't have a lot of time for myself to do hobbies now everyone is using their phones to make sure loved ones are okay.
I have severe clinical depression and a panic disorder. I cant stop crying and hyperventilating. I feel like we are all going to die. Anyone that is panicking over this... that is how normal day is for me. now times it by 100. Impending doom. we are all going to die.
I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this - and especially with the added burden of clinical depression and a panic disorder. Do you have a trusted person to support you through this?
This is a really challenging time and we'd like you to know there are resources available to support you.for more information. They want to help! They are Bay Area based resources mostly, but there are also several national hotlines and websites here: psychiatry.ucsf.edu/coronavirus/seekinghelp#b
@@Rama_248 i am taking 25mg Hydroxyzine and i feel so much better now. i take it as needed but usually 2 or 3 times a day. It works. it has been around since the 50s and is a miracle drug. Not habit forming/ Non addictive. it stops panic attack and make me feel relaxed.
You know...that expression? Make lemonade (something sweet) from lemons (something sour)? That's what Dr. Todd is advising us all to do. Now...I really would like a good lemonade recipe!
