I have avoidant personality and non-duality worked for me. I did not have any fear of loosing the ego, because I really wanted to get rid of it. What amazed me is that by loosing the sense of personal self, I actually discovered myself. Not only in the absolute sense, but also on the psychological level. For the first time in my life I felt unconditional love towards this damaged self, that always wanted to be loved. The Self loves the self 😄

For me the same. I had no problem dropping the ego, life never offered the false self anything to hold on to. As if I had a choice anyway, one day I was standing after a morning meditation and the ego Vail dissolved from me. It felt like a curtain falling in front of me and now I saw the truth. At least the ego truth, I've had other experiences like that where I then saw oneness truth and soul truth.

In David R Hawkins book “Transcending the Levels of Consciousness, the Stairway to Enlightenment” he states that enlightened beings calibrate at high levels and they transmit a vibration to the collective consciousness field of mankind and this energy field counterbalances the negative energies that prevail in the majority of the world’s population. The other service that advanced levels of consciousness provides is information that is of transformative value for the benefit of their students. Thank you both for uplifting humanity. The great awakening is happening.❤🙏

Ive enjoyed listening to Lisa over the years. I always came at this from a quite masculine, logical frame so I like listening to her kinda sensitive, intuitive , whimsical , lovely surrendered way of talking about this stuff. There is zero pretentiousness , no holding up an image ( despite her beauty) and just kinda of goofy fun to her way of speaking. I pop in to her talks here and there just to get a dose of it .

Until recently I’ve never heard anyone talk about building the self and ego before going forward. I come from a place where I had lots of childhood trauma, including what I would call religious trauma from an emotionally abusive parent who very much misinterpreted Buddhism. I am currently going to therapy and doing somatic work. So it’s good to hear I might be on the right track for me. I adore Peter Levine and his work. I also love Richard Schwartz (IFS) and David Berceli (TRE). I think Buddhism has a lot to learn from the world of trauma.

I was sleeping in a tent and I remember dreaming I was inside an amazing threedimensional painting/artwork that was moving as wel. It was so vivid and just really cool in an artistic way. It seemed to represent how I experienced being around Lisa and the other amazingly beautiful people that were present there.

Dear Angelo, thank you for this interview with Lisa. Looking at her I thought I sensed a deep sadness in her, but as I listened I got the feeling that what was reflected was the sadness and pain of all the separated beings in this world. Then she smiles with her eyes and in that light the pain is forgiven and healed. This is a connection with humanity, not a pulling back.

What a great and helpful interview! I was so surprised to hear about Lisa's experience in Bali. A few years ago, I started having moments where everything was the air was sparkling and I would just sit, and it was hard to move. At the same time though, anxiety attacks became very tangible and energetic. It reminded me of hearing Adyashanti talk about experiencing the energy of the universe unmitigated. My senses, which had a tendency to be saturated, felt overwhelming. I also became strangely irritable, where for most of my life emotions were distant and I was able to feel Presence foremost. Every time I looked at my animals, I had visions of chopping them into little pieces. There was so much sensory information and unnameable energy waves hitting me. I told my brain to stop trying to process it all, but it couldn't. So I got a diagnosis and started medicine. Learned about psychosis. I did a lot of therapy. I learned more about how to human and self. I don't think I've had as much of a self as is normal. I saw that mentioned somewhere for my diagnosis. So I was also surprised to hear you talk about how some people need to work on building a self first. My goal is to meet people where they are. To have space for everything, and not get whiplash because I spoke from Presence, then stepped out of it and can't stop worrying about fixing things. From the glimpses I've had, being awake is quite different from speaking from Presence as I have most of my life. I got off medicine a few months ago. I started listening to you, and I signed up for Violet's zoom meetings. I also signed up for the NC retreat. Transmission is very useful for me. I learn much more successfully from people who are modeling through their energy. In general, I refuse to move to where God is pointing me unless I can see people already standing there.

Definite surprise here. Lisa was one of the first people I used to listen to when I was introduced to her by a friend who I used to live with here in London UK. Too glad for this one. The main thing (at least one of them) that I like about Lisa is she empathises with people's need to make the character have a less painful life, through therapy etc; which is something not always found in non duality talks (not that lack of it is bad per se', it's just a preference I have)

I was so lucky as a child. I would do weird things like kick a rock and then feel that I took it away from its family and I would have to try to put it back in my parents would wait for me to do that. When I was 10 years old I remember very clearly thinking I had had this huge epiphany that being 10 meant that I've been alive for 10 years and I felt time solidify and I became sadder after that. When I was younger I went through a hard-core animal activist stage as well. Seems to be a common thread among many people on this path that I speak with. We all seem to be "savers". But when you see that the perpetrators need saving too it becomes very hard (for me anyway.)

I quite liked this interview of which two parts caught my interest. The reference to ego towards the end reminded me of what Franklin Merrell-Wolff wrote in his book, "Pathways Through to Space". This is not a direct quote but he said that a strong ego can be a particular barrier to Recognition but it is also a great benefit in transmitting the values of the higher to the lower when Recognition is achieved. The second part that caught my interest was Ms. Cairns speaking about the non-functionality of her initial awakening. Earlier this month while laying in the ER I had nothing to do but practice what you Mr. Dilullo have written about in your book, "Awakening, it's your turn." After many hours I found myself in the early morning hours feeling a shift was possible on a deep level. Oddly, that was felt on the left side of my head. Thinking the shift possible the right side of my head immediately said that perhaps now, when you've a fractured pelvis, isn't the best time to lose track of where your body is. The right side won. 🙂

I've heard Lisa tell it before, and it's always wonderful to listen to ✨ It reminds me a bit of Suzanne Segal's bus ride awakening experience ("Collision with the Infinite") Deeply fascinating to hear the depiction of a nondual experience, moment-to-moment, from no self/center perception... There is some potent insight here into the nature of identifying with the negative no-self, subtle self apart from... and that's exactly what I love in Adyashanti too. He has an intuitive, integrative, fully developed teaching/transmission... and after this I'm going to listen to his latest talk (on the heart Sutra, I think it's titled)... but, where he excels is in his meeting you on your own level. Everything he says resonates. He's so open and clear. There is no agenda with him. He's pristine and clear as a bell. He's very encouraging and patient. This whole teaching is so easily misunderstood. It can become a trap potentially. Trust your instincts. Hold everything lightly. Listen to your heart. Keep an open mind. Listen without having any agendas. Trust life. Have fun. 💛 Really enjoyed this, and all these great interviews. I always learn a lot listening to em 👂🙏👏👏😁

Thank you for highlighting the importance of being trauma informed, when you teach, but also going throught the process yourself. For a long time I kept my distance to anything non-duality because it had this reckless reputation of putting people into an existantial nihilistic doom perspective that just seemed to dangerously surpass all that needs to be adressed in the trauma that every human holds to some degree. - For my own unfolding I can relate to being obsessed with psychology. There was at some point this fascination of how the human psyche, how the whole system works. It never went away, instead, I grew into becoming a body psychotherapist and moving these energetic blockages in the bodymind is often times not contained in the viewpoint of western psychology anymore but transcends it into "spiritual" states and experiences or make them more likely. For myself, understanding this and trusting the bodies dynamics has helped me with an intuitive unfolding so far. Even if the mind is constantly questioning it :D - A trauma informed non-duality teaching, that takes time to point out the need to be with the hurt and process it, is so valuable and powerful. I keep coming back to these pointers again and again. Thank you, both of you, for teaching like this. 🙏❤

26:35 Regarding memory issues, I've heard about this issue from several sources now, including you and Adyashanti. However, I heard another guy say it might be a resuot of our meditation style or of spending too much time in empty awareness. His pointing is that meditation is supposed to be about focus and clarity, not spacing out and zoning out. I didn't like hearing this at first because I love the spacing out thing and often fall asleep when I'm drifting, not focusing, but I think there may be something to it. Some of us who meditate by letting go and letting go might be dulling our minds and senses. Just a thought to consider.

Wow, ok... Many years ago I started reading about non-duality and then had the worst depression of my life for some time.. i think i was using it as some kind of unhealthy escape like you were discussing.. And that analogy you made about the celestial body pulling you in with it's gravity.. since quite a young age I think.. I would sometimes randomly get this sensation like there's this presence of some huge mass.. yeah, like a celestial body.. kind of a dark feeling too I'd say.. pulling me in/towards.. like i could feel it's mass and gravity, and my mass.. its mass playing on my mass.. so strange.. kinda dreadful. I don't know if I've felt this recently.. maybe..

20:49 is there still a “push” to choose non duality or Buddhism ? Because that would be difficult to do at this stage
