Hey guys! In this video we got over the secret Jurassic Park island that not too many people talk about. Site C was an island that was shown off in some random pieces of JP3 merchandise with the Spinosaurus back in 2001, and very recently, it's popped back up in Jurassic World Evolution as Isla Muerta. Originally this place may have been very different though. The history of Site C's past in the franchise as well as what it currently is in the new video game are explored here. Could InGen seriously have made a 3rd dinosaur island? Hope you all enjoy! :D

It could be that Site A is actually JP San Diego, given that it is the first location to be established. Given that assumption, and the assumption that the JP Resort on Isla Nublar is Site C, we can then infer that InGen established itself on Isla Sorna before it began construction on, or perhaps even purchased, Isla Nublar. It is, after all, not formally part of Los Cinco Muertes. EDIT: Ok, this is what I get for commenting halfway through the video.

Military purposes! Jurassic world wanted to experiment with Raptors, Fallen Kingdom furthers that interest with Indoraptor. Blue has shown with Indominous to have hyper intelligence. JP1 shows "the big one" had devised and calculated a method for attack and escape with infrastructure in the pack of Raptors. Last what better place to have experimental military training with dinosaurs as weapons than next to the source where candidates can be selected, meaning the dinosaurs. Ingen in turn is protected by the military and government thus their able to continue making dinosaurs despite heavy casualties from the animals. The Military gets the weapons it wants, without public knowledge, for a time anyway.

I agree they were planning to have multiple parks with nublar as the flagship park, but one island for production seems like enough. Site B already is a decently sized island, and they already have a giant production facility there. If you look at it in JP///, the embryonics administration is a really large building, and the island has more than enough space. so for a few theme parks, it seems like enough. and it wouldn’t be hard enough to ship a dinosaur from Site B to the old world to make enough of a reason to build another production facility in the old world. if InGen can ship a Tyrannosaurus from site B to San Diego it can ship a dinosaur from site B to the azures. (The azure islands in Europe is where JP europe was supposed to go)

sorry to dig up this grave a year later, but personally, I think it was for hiding dinos. they have a place to make em, and show em, but where do they keep the fully grown dinos they may not be actively researching, but they don't want you to see? given that the spino was off the list, it makes sense why it would be housed on the hideaway island.

I could see Site C being an experimental island, like a control grounds for isolated dinosaurs in a natural habitat to study their behavior, health, characteristics, etc as well as an island where newly created dinosaurs or mutant strains could be grown and studied in isolation from the rest of the dinosaur population. Isla Nublar was the Park, Sorna the free roaming reservoir/preserve which bred the approved creatures and Muerta where experiments in technology and new variants could be developed and tested in relative safety and secrecy. This would make Site C probably the second most developed island after Nublar with a TON of security, primarily focused on labs, pens, paddocks, offices, worker villages, etc. The vast space of the island could be used to see how well they fared in different locales and environments (assuming jungle isn't the only thing on it). Using it as a staging ground, one could use the island to see how dinosaurs and experimental mutants interacted with other species before approving and transferring them to Site B to roam free. Growing these things is very expensive so I assume they wouldn't want to just throw any new animal in the big lot with the others and risk wiping out whole populations of herbivores (and hundreds of millions of dollars in the process) due to an overly aggressive predator. It would be wise to first make sure that the dinosaurs weren't too aggressive and could survive a free-roam habitat which would require isolated observation.

Based on the description on the packaging from the JPIII Era, it sounds to me like Site C was intended to be a separate island from Site A) Nublar and B) Sorna, with one major difference: a complete lack of dinosaurs. It sounds like Site C was supposed to be more of a Prehistoric themed resort, where people could stay in peace, without the sounds of the Dinosaurs in the night. In addition, most themepark resorts have the two separated in one way or another. As such, my guess is that, Site C was intended to be where the hotels, spas, employee housing, etc. would be located for Jurassic Park. This can be backed by a few things, such as the fact that we never did see anything more than the Tour Ride, the Visitor's Center, and the Power Station on Nublar, the fact that the park clearly couldn't handle more than 4-5 groups of people at a time with the content we've seen, and the fact that it would be completely impossible to bring guests all the way from the Mainland to Nublar for every visit. Oh yeah, and then there's the fact that it makes complete sense to keep the guests on a different island from where the carnivores are, just for safety reasons. After all, Hammond "spared no expense." My theory is that JPIII *was* intended to take place on Site C, after all, it was intended to "evoke" the setting of Site A, explaining the similar aesthetics, and the plot would have something to do with the site still being operated as a regular resort after the events of JP1. After JP 1 and 2 however, the raptors had begun migrating from B to C in a similar way to how they started migrating to the mainland in the books. Similarly, the Spino had broken out of B somehow, and made it to C, probably through swimming there, hence the "Surf for Survival" tagline, maybe something happened on Sorna. I have no idea what the regular plot would have been, but that's my guess with the dino side of things. Actually, scratch that maybe. There's also the possibility that the human plot worked similar to what we got at first, but with the Dino SOAR trip being sponsored by the resort. Like before, Grant is brought in to save the kid (with his *actually* rich parents who were staying at the resort), and then sometime after the T-Rex fight, and some b-plot raptor action, they have to find a way to get over to Site C, where they know they can safely be rescued, only to find that the Spino had followed them through the water, and possibly the raptors having already been coming over.
@Cdr2002
@Cdr2002 5 лет назад
Perhaps “Site C” was a testing ground. Where they played with new species and variations on ones they’d already recreated before deciding they were fit for the Sorna ecosystem or display on Nublar. Alternatively, the proposed new island could’ve been where InGen hid its failures. All the accidents, like what Wu referred to the JP3 Spino as, or genetic anomalies. Maybe InGen discovered things about dinosaurs the rest of the world hadn’t yet, like that they had feathers/quills, and Hammond opted to keep this information secretive until the rest of the world was up to speed.

Wasn't there something about Jurassic World Evolution being semi-canon? That is, while it did its darndest to appear as if it WERE canon, it ultimately wasn't? Like a side-story? To me that gives a lot of credence to the JWE side being the one to favour here. While it's obviously impossible for JWE to exist in the current canon what with Fallen Kingdom blowing up Nublar, the various bits of lore details I think hold a weight similar to the TellTale game, so Ian Malcom's statement about Muerta being Site C should be taken... not seriously, but informatively. Ultimately what Site C was supposed to mean is almost a paradox or thought theory. It's ultimately irrelevant today as the movie says multiple times that it's on Sorna, and Site C is never mentioned in a film at any point. Will say though, Site C could almost be a preparative name that InGen used whilst developing the other two just in case they ever needed to use them for some reason. For example, they might make Muerta a "Panic Room" island that you'd go to in case both parks went to hell at the same time.

I Remember Malcolm talking of Muerta as Site C in Evolution but surprise it wasn't the first time it was mention. Ingen been doing some crazy stuff behind Hammond's Back and along with Masrani as well. while Nublar was for the tourist and sorna was a factory floor where they bred the dinosaurs and move them to nublar. i always wonder what they use the other islands around the las cinco muertes. Cloning more and Illegal dinosaurs or something else or maybe not even using them. sounds like to me if the Spinosaurs from JP3 is still alive must have swam to Muerta (Site C in the Evolution). That's One of the Thousand Questions I want The Team to answer.

Well if you are going off of lore from the movies, spinosaurs absolutely can break a t.rex's neck. We see that in jp3 and it's cannon whether people like it or not. I can certainly see the spinosaurs simply swimming to this site c, but if the pterasours from jp3 were not mentioned to be free in the world movies, they were probably recaptured and thus the spinosaurs and the raptors might have been recaptured too. This would mean they could have been moved there by ingen and they just thrived there.

If Site C was ever used, then here's how it would be acceptable: While Site B housed the labs used to breed the dinosaurs meant for Nublar, Site C is for secret projects not meant for public knowledge. InGen's list includes every dinosaur created on Sorna. But the dinosaurs on Muerte? For everything not included on the list. The Spinosaurus, the other raptor clan, the Ceratosaurus, the Ankylosaurus, the Corythosaurus, the highly aggressive Pteranodons. All on C, away from InGen's knowledge, where Henry Wu creates his own little "accidents" and eventually would be the birthplace for Indominus Rex and Indoraptor. But again, another wasted opportunity in the mess that is called Jurassic Park 3.

I personally liked 3. Showing the spinosaurus babies being grown, the "new" raptors, etc. It didn't explain whether they were bred before or after Isla nublar incident. JW tied it in nice with the DPG webpage and such. It makes it all the more interesting to watch JP3 knowing that between 2 and 3 ingen was bought by masrani and went back to do more illegal shit (cause let's face it, wouldn't Ludlow have disclosed to his hunters that a spino was running around and would wipe them out. Roland would have hunted it lol)

Makes sense that Nublar is site C, look at it this way, the attraction that was built in San Diego would've been site A as it was the original idea for the park, then Hammond went for something far grander as Ludlow said in The Lost World, Sorna then became site B as it was the second island used for the dinosaurs and finally Nublar became site C.

My theory: Site C was supposed to be Isla Muerta and it was a secret testing facility where InGen was researching the combat effectiveness of the dinosaurs for the military. We know that InGen has always had their eyes on using the dinosaurs as more than just theme park attractions, most obviously expressed in Jurassic World. It's even possible that InGen had plans to bring Owen's raptor pack to Isla Muerta at some point. Perhaps after the fall of Nublar and Sorna, Muerta was abandoned which is why they lost all their data they had been collecting for the military and why they wanted to start the project back up again in World.

San Diego was Site A as in TLW Ludlow states it was meant to be tge original before Hammond abandoned it for the idea of an island park. Since Site B was the factory floor they shipped the dinos from that makes Nublar Site C by process of elimination.

From the paragraph description of the old take on Site C, it sounds to me like they're describing a beautiful resort that's meant to capture the awe and splendor of Nublar without the danger that caused the catastrophe in the first film. In other words: possibly no dinos - at least not the large, violent predators listed. I'd imagine this would be a Site more themed around enjoying the atmosphere of the location coupled with observation of, and maybe even interaction with, herbivores in a peaceful setting.

This reminds me of how in TLW, when Nick was translating for the boat captain, the islands were referred to as “the five deaths”. I mean dang what if all five islands are being utilized for research? I feel that Site C and in my opinion Isla Muarta was probably or is a testing ground for the hybrids and since there are cannon hybrids being the Inodminous Rex, the Indoraptor, and the Spinosaurus from JP3, I wouldn't be surprised if Muarta is tied to these and more hybrids in the cannon lore.

I feel the same way, and lets not forget TRAINABLE RAPTORS because the Raptors in JP3 exhibit a lot of human like behaviors rather than the primal animals we see in JP1 and JP2, not to mention they are familiar with the science labs, they know the sounds of helicopters and to avoid humans, and to top it off they never once hunted Grants party for FOOD, they only hunted them down for the Eggs and took right off. We also cannot forgot the Pterdonadons could have been also bred to attack helicopters aswell.

I like to think Site C was a more private resort. If you remember JP1, Hammond expressed how he wanted the park admission to be as affordable as possible so everyone could enjoy the dinosaurs/park. Maybe the investors wanted a luxury option as well, with a more beach resort theme and a private and up close experience for the super rich.

I'm wondering if originally "Site C" was basically where they offloaded all of their "reject" dinosaurs. Similar to how the released some of them on Sorna to mature before taking them to the park, but in this case, the ones deemed too problematic or aggressive (here;s looking at you Spino) got shoved onto Site C. They were too hesitant to just destroy them, but couldn't really keep them safely, so instead just dumped them in the wild.

Well in Trespasser Hammond kind of hints at Sorna being a place for scientists to come and study the dinosaurs: "In the winter we began building the supports for the elevated transit system that would unify the island. Concrete towers rose through the jungle canopy. Curving up out of the southern basin, the Atherton Causeway would bring visiting scientists north from the southern beach. May, 1989. We began laying the foundations on the south beach for a hotel for visiting scientists and businessmen. A year hence, I thought, the island would be quite famous. InGen Reception. I had planned that someday visitors - scientists and politicians - would be welcomed here. The southern beach looked out over trackless ocean; down past Peru, all the way to Antarctica." Although a hunting resort might be a possibility, I mean "A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury might have inspired them.

Certain members of InGen (Henry Wu, for example) were very keen on engineering those animals as bio-weapons. The Spinosaurus of Isla Sorna was very likely an early attempt at this, as indicated by the Masrani back-door promotional material you previously alluded to. So what if Site C was a sort of "black ops" area, with money skimmed from Hammond here and there (given how quick he was no "spare no expense" as long as the job got done), on Isla Muerta built for the specific purpose of taking the data gained from the growing, raising and studying of the animals on Nublar and Sora with the intention of using it to refine their genetic codes to make them more effective weapons and then sell them to governments, private armies or whoever else could come up with the money?

Then Site B was the factory floor then once he realised San Diego wouldn't be big enough he got Nublar / Site C. Totally possible that Nublar is Site C. But interesting non the less. Edit: Also Muerta in JWE there's a DLC map section of that island where your doing stuff for WU so it's possible that clandestine ops were going on there too.. 🤷‍♂️

My thoughts: Site C, as hinted at by Malcolm, was where Ingen sent the rejected clones. The ones that had issues, that had errors, that were outdated now thanks to better clone batches. Remember in the book when We suggested moving to the next version? This could be where they dumped the ones that didn't work out or were phased out. Why not just kill them? Study. Experiment. Run tests. Better to try out new medication or habitat designs on the rejects. Just look apt the weird variance that are in the third movie. A highly aggressive Spinosaurus. Albino Raptors. Raptors with Proto feathers. Highly aggressive pteranodons. Weaker Tyrannosaurus that are also smaller. Dinosaurs that we only saw in the third movie and never again. Sightsee could have been the place where engine put its mistakes had they gone that route. The place where they toss the rejects in the freaks. The place that truly was not a lost world but a Jurassic nightmare.

I think that ”site C” was originally another name for isla nublar instead of being a completely new island, because remember the park from Lost World in San Diego. That could’ve possibly been site A, because it was supposed to be the main park timeline wise (it was only brought up after the first film tho) Site B ( Isla Sorna) has always been island B. They only created and tested thee dinosaurs there. Also it makes sense for Isla Nublar to be called Site C because it was the last site to be purchased. It was just Hammonds new plan since he got worried about the safety of the park in San Diego. JP 3 was also first set to take place on Isla Nublar so everything would add up. The only issue is that Isla Nublar does get called site A sometimes, but it could just be one of the many inconsistancies that the franchise has. So there you go, that is my theory that absolutely no one asked for. (also writing this 2 minutes into the video so im not even sure if the creator touched upon this himself) :)

When I was a kid, I was excited for JP3. My brother made the claim that it would take-place on a NEW Island, called "Site C." I didn't agree with him, because it effectively sounded redundant... So let's see if we can narrow-down what location is which... Site B - Isla Sorna - is called "the Factory Floor" - the place where the bulk of genetic engineering work takes place. Following this trend, this would make Site A the Lockwood Estate - the sublab that Lockwood had in his basement where he and Hammond extracted the first DNA from Amber and brought the first Dinosaur back from extinction. In this sense, Isla Nublar COULD in theory be Site C, as that's where the progression would have to be moved... Granted, it's clear from the books that this isn't the case... As for me, the kind of Site C that I'd want, would be a smaller atoll with large beaches, and an underwater facility meant to house and study prehistoric aquatic creatures.

I was actually getting ready to praise the writers for a harsh, bittersweet ending where the characters make the difficult decision to euthanize the dinosaurs because it's simply too dangerous to let them out, but nope. Let's just release an invasive species into the ecosystem. And they even frame it as though it was the right decision, as though the audiance is supposed to agree with it :S

Both jurassic world movies were disappointing in my opinion. I think they became too "hollywood". I lost any sense of awe, suspense, or fear that the jurassic park movies had. Particularly 1 and 2. I cant quite put my finger on what it is. I dont think the over reliance on cgi these days helps. I still think Stan Winston's animatronics are far superior to cgi. They changed the movies from bringing back dangerous animals that were once very real, to making monster movies. The original T-rex had much more of a fear factor than either the Indominus or the Indoraptor.

What if Site C was the island Lockwood was talking about in Fallen Kingdom? I've got a theory behind this as well. If you've been to a zoo you know they have both indoor and outdoor enclosures for animals. Sometimes they're meant for seasonal use and will be accessbile to the public, sometimes not. And a lot of times those enclosures, that are not public access, are meant for recovery areas for sick animals. And no zoo or theme park wants it's visitors to see dead or dying animals, it's not good for business. Jurassic Park was never shown in the movies to have any such additional holding facilities for sick or old (dying) dinosaurs. It would be logical to assume a third island was maintained in order to move any sick, injured or old/dying dinosaurs to, that was restricted access. It wouldn't be that hard to do either. If they project a T-Rex is going to live about 20 years, when it gets to about 17 it would make sense to make a new one and once it's ready for display, you simply move the old Rex to this Site C where it can roam freely and live out the rest of it's days away from the public, while a new one is introduced for viewing. Then you don't risk the public seeing one of their favorite dinosaurs collapse and die in front of them and the dinosaurs themselves get a little freedom to stretch their legs. You keep minimum saff on Site C just to monitor, feed the dinosaurs and make sure no one ventures too close to the island.

In the novel, InGen was also creating prehistoric Plants. This work was actually done in a lab on the mainland, I can't remember where exactly but the location is given in the book. It's possible that InGen might have been working on the same project at site A, which would make Isla Nublar site C, or vise versa. But who knows. The books did have prehistoric plants growing on Nublar, but the plants in the movies seem to be modern.

I could see Nublar being Site C, with Site A being research facilities in the US early in the development of the research and experimentation, Sorna being Site B where the dinos were further developed and raised (outside of government regulation, obviously), and Site C being the intended showcase site for the park. But, yeah, Isla Muerta being mentioned in JWE throws that idea out the window.

I just always assumed site A was Nublar, there was just no public reason to refer to it as such because it was the island of the actual Jurassic Park so that name would take precedence. As far as the different ecosystems and biomes on Sorna go, just remember that it was by far the largest island in the archipelago. I'm pretty sure the Jurassic Park wiki cites some sources from JP3 material that explains that The Lost World took place mostly on the southern side of the island and JP3 took place on the northern side. And if was more mountainous in the north like Nublar is, it would be easy to see how that part might get more rainfall for lusher vegetation.

Late reply, but my line of thought: Site A: Isla Nublar-The Park. This is for showcasing the dinosaurs to visitors in a "safe," contained environment. Site B: Isla Sorna-the factory/breeding ground. This is for breeding the dinosaurs and other flora and fauna showcased at the park. This would explain there seeming to be more of everything including enough T-Rex to breed, while we only saw one in the original movie. Site C; Isla Muerta-The laboratory/experimentation ground. This was for experimenting with and mutating the dinosaurs, bringing new species to life and improving on the genome of already-existent species. This would explain the Spinosaurus being here, as well as the more colorful and diverse raptors.

One possible theory for what ingen did on site c is that this is where the experimented with some, less then legal creatures, they didn’t want John Hammond to know about, and perhaps even began work on making a hybrid dinosaur or making dinosaurs that could be weaponized. Basically anything that involved dinosaurs but didn’t involve the park itself or Hammond, as ingen wouldn’t want him to know what they were doing
@DavidBarkland

My hope is something tangentially related to the books; Site C is Isla Muerta, a third island under development for R&D. Dodgeson said it himself: once the park is open, they´ll expand into every conceivable market. Pets, medicine, agriculture. Think about it: Sorna was a manufacturing floor, there´d be dozens if not hundreds of employees coming and going every day. Nublar would have thousands of tourists. You need someplace more secluded for the sensitive projects.
