We see this in this one off manga, where he mentions he learned the juggling number just by watching it, and also in the Hunter Exam, while fighting that ex-examiner, when Hisoka so easily catches his blades and spins them saying "it was easier than anticipated". We also notice this tendency of wanting to see beyond the apparent illusion of a Nen ability through his fight with Kastro, going to such lengths to figure it out that he sacrifices his arms (temporarily - haha).

Hisoka is one of the most disturbing yet interesting characters ever created.

That's why I love that Hisoka manga so much, as it's so consistent to the Essence of Hisoka. You'd think a back story would give you some explanations, yet it is merely a delightful performance of a younger, yet not less charming Hisoka. Beautiful. There is an Interview between Togashi and Ishida Where they talk about this one shot, Togashi seems to like it and how hisoka's character was handled. Togashi even said something about maybe one day writing something that ties into it, So personally im gonna take it as cannon!

Hisoka is the polar opposite of a sociopath. He has very prominent emotions and social intelligence far above the average person. Hell, he even has a personality test for discovering Nen categories. He is a murderous psychopath.

I was trying out a Japanese name generator, and came across the name Hisoka and its meaning. Apparently, Hisoka is a name and word that literally means "Reserved, Secretive" He doesn't exactly have a reserved personality, but he sure has a lot of secrets so I thought that was interesting.

Hisoka was always an innate Nen user, he found morytonia the same way Gon accidentally found artifacts, he was sensing nen but subconsciously.

Ishida Sui is a talented mangaka and a huge fan of Togashi, Tokyo Ghoul is one of the best mangas I've ever read, Kaneki is such an interesting character to see evolve. I recomend you read of if you haven't❤ I hope Tokyo Ghoul gets an anime remake (I do like the original anime from 2014, but it was not perfect) Love Hunter X Hunter and Tokyo Ghoul❤❤

I actually really like the idea that he could create a legion of nen abilities he just simply doesn't care to as his other methods satisfy him. Gross, but a really unique motivator that he won't get stronger or create new abilities or methods because of it.

This does beg the question, when/how did Ging learn Nen, and was that before he took the exam? I think not, because its implied he basically did what Gon did: walk straight off Whale Island at the age of 12 and go take the exam. An idyllic place like that is not where someone gets introduced to Nen. So this leaves two possibilities as to why he was able to completely dominate his entire class of examinees, probably all of whom were older and more experienced, some of whom might already have known combat skills and Nen. Maybe he did not take the exam right away and learned Nen for a couple years beforehand. Or, much more terrifyingly... perhaps he learned Nen DURING THE EXAM. Over only a couple days, being baptized and then mastering enough of ten and ren to be able to beat back everyone else without much difficulty.

This video made me miss HxH. Yet I came to realize this manga will never finish just because of Togashi illness. Hisoka will always be my best HxH character.

My question is - is Hisoka actually alive or just a Nen beast now? Like if he kills all the phantom troupe will the conditions be met and the nen dissipates or will he keep living like normal

I wonder if he will make another nen ability. Would it be completely new or just a different application of bungee gum? Like he could theoretically make or cover an entire battle field with it & activate when needed... the trees, rocks, birds, ect could all be made of bungee gum... he could also theoretically use emission & make it rain bungee gum. I'd LOVE to see him make a new nen ability.

I always figured Hisoka was more about being smart than talented with Nen, that he didn't have the same amount of talent as Gon or Killua, just knew his stuff better, but if he really mastered everything including his own hatsu in but a few weeks, he may be even MORE talented. Now that he seems to care more about the kill than enjoying the fight, he may be a match for Gin or even Netero.

His over-the-top creepyness weirdly makes him that more realistic to me🤷‍♂

Hisoka says it's from a popular gum but to me this is the real world inspiration: Texture Surprise comes from Silly Putty. A soft rubber novelty toy sold to kids since 1940s and still made and copyrighted by Crayola today. You can press it to newspaper and it will lift the ink and create a copy of whatever you pressed it against and you can stretch whatever you've copied with it.

Hisoka is very interesting as a character. I like him as a character. The whole sexual side of his character is quite uncomfortable and I do believe this is completely intentional by the author.

He doesn't get off from being pushed close to death, he gets off from killing strong opponents. This is shown with him stacking up houses of cards and knocking them down in his spare time and giving off a moan afterword. and when he was seeing Gon's potential you can seen him imagining a towering house of cards in the background. As he sexually matured he began to view killing people as knocking down houses of cards.

The fight between being curious about hisoka to not wanting to get spoilers... it probably would've been way more exciting to read all this stuff in the manga, but that probably wouldn't have been for a long time 😅

the way you describe him has changed my view on hisoka. not that i actually thought he was a pedo but the fact hes genuinely getting off from battles and near death experiences rather than actual intercourse makes sense to me. he's a big baller in the world of hxh, I would not be surprised if hes experienced every sexual pleasure the world has to offer and the only way to get off is battling people and near death experiences. this makes his obsession with gon more understandable and less weird and i think that's what the writer wanted. but also makes me ask "why not killua"?, maybe he didnt want all the problems from the zoldyck family idk

The conspiracy theory I've always had was hisoka is actually Gons brother or at least also Ging's son. They all have golden like eyes. Hisoka has the ability to copy most moves he sees and in most cases weilds it better like he did in the hunter exams but it's not his Nen ability kind of like Ging. He also has around the same natural potential Gon has....not to mention that technically both the Freeces and Zoldyc families tend to have ties as they both went to the dark continent. (Gon and killua are friends/ hisoka and illumi are friends. Both families went to dark continent at the same time at times) I think there are plenty of coincidences in this theory....
