Its a hit or miss for me rn, but knowing the minds of the Division is behind it.... makes me wanna jump on board and see how it will play out.

The exoskeletons and natural disasters peaked my interest but long term progression is what sold me on this game. I could never get into these other extraction shooters due to the resets, losing everything periodically just made it feel like wasted time after a decade of playing looters.

The dark zone was my least favorite part of the division. It was literally squads just roaming the streets ganking people for fun.

I'm with Cross! "There is a desire for high quality extraction shooters." I feel like every extraction shooter has been bad or died. I fell in love with COD's DMZ, but now that thats been shuddered away, my fingers and toes are crossed for this!

I miss the days of ME3 multiplayer. I got by for a little bit with Killing Floor, but nothing’s scratched that sci fi, cooperative, dynamic combat quite like that. I’d be ecstatic if this turned out well.

Goodness me does anthem bring back memories. Loved it to its core, but it was flawed, no end game and the map size was too small in comparison with how fast you could traverse it. Other than those issues the game was slated to be a huge hit.

Another ES? Pass. The big problem with them is that you also end up getting ganged up. And the division, which I actually worked on back in 2012/2013, had a lot of balancing issue with the issues, thus, why newer gamew, do things like regular wipes in order to keep a level playing field. Unchecked progression will make newcomers suffer to the point of not staying and then you are stuck with a stagnant playerbase.

I couldn't possibly care anyless than i do already for extraction shooters. Why is this being pushed so hard now?

I'm pretty sure it was the first, but at least it was the first to do it right, but Titanfall 2, always had me looking up down left right all around me. And I have to say, even with destiny 2 and the finals's movement, that experience of being weary of every possible direction has, for me, not manifested in any game since TF2. I'm excited to see if XO born can do this too, but if Titanfall 3 comes out, and the gameplay is literally the same as TF2's, with just a little bit of new content, I'll be playing that regardless of how fun the finals/ XOborn is.

i love extraction shooters. played both divisions and they’re fantastic when playing w friends but a lot slower when you’re alone. problems i found in the division when the games came out years ago was solo play on the extraction/ PVP soon was horrible as you just get gamed up by a group of players. other then that campaigns always were amazing and weapons and designs were great

i think expectations is what sets things apart. In extraction shooters, people go in KNOWING their stuff will disappear and that this is just part of the game. but NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE expected bungie to take away our shit that we paid for.

Not really sure about an extraction looter. You really need many items to grind that give values for players to want to continue to go out there.

Beautiful Light and Grey Zone Warfare i think are about to take over this year for the extraction genre and should i say the “newer” more polished games of that genre are coming out this year it seems. More in mind like (Arc Raiders) and this and i’m excited to see if the Triple A developers can actually finally make a good extraction / open world looter shooter of sorts. 2024 finna be crazy, this actually did look pretty promising, personally i loved Anthems gameplay, as you said cross the game just had no vision (and was controlled by EA btw,rip) im excited man, i miss the Division and want a new type of Anthem/Destiny exo / skills and im hyped, for this game. When we gettin the release date tho? Hyped for it if they get good PvE content, open world PvP can be fun but eh only in certain times and places, would rather PvE zones and PvP zones like Division style Dark Zone (i actually hope they do this like really badly so PvE isn’t held back by always needing to keep PvP in mind)

Im an mmo player generally who dabbles with a bit of First person thats why D1&2 have stuck with me as it scratches both itches, still dont think there is another game out there like it really qith the breadth of story and vision

Cross, if youre interested at all in Extraction Shooters you gotta give Tarkov a fair shake. If only for science, so as to discover what makes real Extraction Shooters work. But i warn you, the first time to get a handful of player kills and extract with tons of good loot, youll never be the same. The dopamine dump is real.

The thing that makes a good Extraction Shooter is loss. The long periods of time with no success and so as to make the eventual success such a rush. They have to nail the risk/loss aspect or it will just be DMZ. Which was lame.

High mobility Movement is the key to a good open world pvevp that’s what I believe killed crucible that Amazon game that took the world by storm for about 3 weeks

Im down for any new game that can rival D2 and still give good game play, that is a pvp focus.

Division 2 is my only taste of this genre, I loved it, haven't played in so so long. I was interested by the name, and by the footage in the trailer. But man I dunno how I feel for sure about extraction shooters oh the whole, before giving this any consideration, absolutely a "need to see more" case for me.

Cross, thank you for saying that about Anthem! I really enjoyed that game! I was really, really bummed when it didn't get the support it deserved. Als, ewww, PVP enabled at all times? No thanks. Immediately rules out the entire game. PVP games should be PVP games, and PVE games should be PVE games and the two should never cross over.

This will really determine on how the game launches day 1 and post launch. If the game flops hard at launch or if the game is fun but gets slow updates, its gonna kill the game before it even sets off

I like the idea of extraction shooters but unfortunately there’s just no extraction shooters that have been done right (my opinion). The only one I have ever liked was The Darkzone in The Division.

For extraction just go and play COD DMZ, by far the best extraction shooter.

Game looks interesting but in my opinion I would love to see an extraction game where it was only pve. Like I would love that so much. I enjoy ghost of tabor which is like VR tarkov but PvP is what turns me off half the time because I just can’t compete against people who just no life and grind which isn’t a bad thing and if they enjoy that great. I would love if a company would make a shooter that’s the extraction style but with no PvP elements. Just food for thought.

why are there so many salty tarlov fans in here hating on all the extraction shooters coming out? as a mainly console player, I have only ever played the division when it came out and have never touched an extraction shooter since (unless dmz counts). I’m just a bit confused where all this hate is coming from towards different extraction shooters someone explain

There was a hype, and it lasted for 3-4 months. Everyone soon realized how boring they get and how developers can’t pump out enough content to feed the player base WITHOUT charging stupid money past the $60 we already pay. 3:12 Cross: “This is by no means some Indie Developer.” *Me:* That’s not the point. The sad reality is that game developers, no matter how passionate they are about what they make, are still gamblers. The craze of extraction shooters picked up and died within the same year and developers looked at the play, made a bet, and have now been releasing their trailers for the world to see. People are asking where tf is this all coming from and why it’s all coming out now? The truth is these “bets/decisions” were made years ago and are now in full production for the coming 2024/2025 releases. What they don’t realize is how the genre is already dying BECAUSE so many are coming out for the sake of a cash grab (hence, gamblers…) and the support for the game dies after. The ultimate problem for a lot of these studios (Bungie-Marathon) is that they’ve invested too much time and worse, too much money, that there is no turning back. (See page 4 titled “Why Bungie delayed Final Shape… jk they need to save Destiny or Marathon funding will die”) :) stuff
