(Hate is a very strong word and given that there are minors in the group trying their best, I could never) It's just that YG is too stuck in the past and doesn't want to change his music or lyrics to match his audience's age and taste!
People in the comments' section seem more like empathy stanners. The person is literally telling facts and them saying Babymonster is different from Blackpink makes me laugh. Honestly about Sheesh, it really is something Blackpink would pull off with. Right from the lyrics, concept, dressing, choreography, set everything is evidently Blackpink coded. Babymonster is an extension of Blackpink and nothing makes them unique. I am a blink and honestly I don't like any other group duplicating Blackpink's concept leave alone taking inspiration. All YG groups are not the same, winner is completely different. A girl group like winner or ikon would have been better to have over one as blackpink. People are sparing Babymonster because it is from YG just imagine a nugu company group if it released sheesh, the amount of plagiarism accusations stans would come up with! But since it's YG, fans are being empathetic.
i do agree as a blink, but lets be honest it wasnt completely blackpink. BP will surely pull it off but it wasnt the entire copy of BP. the entire copy of BP was batter up but then sheesh was diff, yes some parts did give the vibes of BP but the vocals, the rap, everything was BM. Specially the outro nd the beat change in the end it wasnt normal kpop it was diff. Also not to forget the start of the song, the opening nd the vocals, beats everything was diff, it looked new. And no ppl dont accuse them of plagiarism only cuz they are from YG, but becuz they are from the same comp as BP and honestly everyone expected them to sound lyk BP since they were officially announced. If they were in diff comp then they wud def be judged cuz that wud be straight up plagiarism Yes i also hate anyone duplicating BP, but be honest with urself, they arent exactly duplicates, they have their own charms

Sheesh is the same recycled meaningless noise that YG does over and over and over again. 99% of BP songs have no meaning/message other than “look at me I’m the best”. Batter Up and Sheesh follow that exact same noisy meaningless motto. The girls showed in their pre debut clips that they are talented, they’re just being giving terrible material to work with. YG is such a lazy company, I can’t stand people that blindly Stan the entire company….you’re the exact audience he’s targeting with this recycled sound and concepts….
What annoys me the most is that their fans always try to say a member is a daughter of blackpink (ahyeon: Jennie; Chiquita: Lisa) , always making their identity about blackpink and YG is trying so hard to make them mini blackpink instead of babymonster who they really are as group. You can't go under any post that talk about babymonster without their fans always associating blackpink with babymonster and they go on complain that YG is the problem when they themselves are part of the problem babymonster isn't having their own identity
Ty for saying this the only reason babymonster has a fan base is because of black pink. It’s sad they don’t have really much of their own identity they’re so talented.
I'm not even surprised. I knew they'd do that. I feel like a good majority of their fanbase only likes them because they think they're related to BP somehow, too. It annoys the hell out of me. That's like if I kept associating Itzy with Twice. Why can't we just appreciate the group for themselves and not because they're in the same company as another big group?

Yg really wasted treasure's potential, they didn't even promote them well. Treasure 's talents and skills are another level. They could have made use of it, but it didn't. And I am afraid yg might waste baby monster's potential also. Atleast they can try something new this time.

this has happen with every group, jyp tried to do twice the next snsd for their first years, this also happen with illit recently, their sound and aesthetic is identical to new jeans, aespa had accusations of copyng kda and bp, every gg have this controversies and then find their sound, it’s just that yg prefer to use their own old ideas instead of copyng other companies, also the group is doing great in álbum sales, spotify, youtube and even in korean charts…

I disagree but each person can have their own opinion and the oldest is 22 so they are not that young. I think they are one of the best rookie groups talent wise. Also the thing about dressing up in their moms clothing is not relevant because teens dress like this normally to some extent. If they jumped into massive brands deals for places like Luis Vuitton and became an ambassador they would look stupid and out of place.
Completely agree with you! Their talents have to be really appreciated coming from a huge company with a bigger pressure to outperform or match their seniors. The youngest is 14 to speak of the age. And by 'dressing up in their mom's clothing', I never meant their styling! I meant the way they are trying to fit into their seniors' standards despite their age and concept difference.

I heard much of the same criticisms when Blackpink debuted 7 years back when 2ne1 was on hiatus and eventually disbanded. Blackpink members Lisa and Jennie helped mentor their juniors. Stuck in the middle is completely unique in my opinion and while batterup and Sheesh have some nostalgic nods to Blackpink I hear an evolution of YG sound….I agree there will never be another Blackpink in the same way there will never be another 2ne1……give it seven years and someone will be writing about who’s copying Babymonster.
I think it would have been better if they could have debuted with refreshing girly vibes concept like twice. It would have suited their age as well show YG charms by doing newer concepts. Like jyp introduced itzy with totally different concept then twice which made them have their own style and identity. But yg is trying so hard to push BP 2.0 narrative on them with ahyeon as Jennie Chiquita as little lisa rami as rose.

I got immediate red flags when the thumbnail saying "15 y/o" was pointing to a 17 year old, and even if this is some marketing trick, then maybe you should stop spreading misinformation especially when your video is intended to use facts and evidence to convey a point, but I digress. When I think of BABYMONSTER, I think of the hip-hop, girl crush concept. Even if their sound is similar, that's expected when their seniors are one of the most famous groups in history. For example; learning to speak, you copy your parents/people around you. It's just like debuting a new group, to give them a successful start, use the formula that worked for your previous group; like I mentioned before, one of the most famous groups in history. YG did the exact same with BLACKPINK, using 2NE1's formula to give them a head start, and now look what they've become. BABYMONSTER have broken records using the formula of BP, so you can't argue about that. It's not just about what's pleasing for the listeners, it's about revenue and cash. What's similar about Rami, Chiquita, Ahyeon and Rora to Rose, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo. This is all I can find: Rami = She can sing Chiquita = She's Thai and the maknae Ahyeon = She can sing and rap Rora = She looks pretty These are just basic coincidences which don't have an affect on the group in the long run. What do you think they can do about it? Regress their vocals? Botch their visuals? Force Chiquita to be ECTA?
Don't come at me but I do think that babymonster is very overrated. Like 5M subscribers even before debut. I feel bad for the groups who work sooo hard but do not get any recognition becoz they're from a small company
Yikes, your opinion is very different. I do agree sitm remix was better than anticipated but it's still the worst in the mini album (8/10). This song did not remind me of blackpink. It was for me if Dreamcatcher and gidle had a baby. You're incredibly wrong with some of your points. Hip hop is good for them and they have no identity? Their vocal and rap line is much better than blackpink and most groups. Their vocal tones are all different (what most groups are missing). I feel bad for babymonster, always gonna be compared to Blackpink because they come from the same company. Watch their final evaluations. The chorus choreography is good as well seeing as everything was moving before then it went static, eye catching. Overall, I just think you're being so unnecessarily harsh. Lots of your points are about them comparing them to blackpink. You want them to be compared to blackpink or not to be?
