Sorry for commenting twice but the Emily Osment appearance made me think you should totally watch Cyberbully. That movie was absolutely insane. I don't know if you just watch kid's shows or nostalgia shows period with its darker themes, but it'd be a wild one lol

Oh my goodness, "This is what dreams are made of" was stuck in my head while you were covering the set up (because Lizzie and Hannah are the exact same character) only to find out that "best of both worlds" is the exact same song pitched up a step and a half!! 💀

Also let's shout out the fact that Miley is supposed to be 15/16 in this. It's not like she's a full grown adult trying to manage all her responsibilities, shes a literal child. And since Robby Ray obviously never works and Jackson works at a surf shack for a 10 year old, theres no other way for them to have the life they show in the show/movie other than using Hannah money. And I'm sorry, but I think if my best friend/daughter/sister was an undercover pop star trying to keep their identity hidden, I feel I would be a little more understanding about the fact she's gonna miss some things or be a little late from time to time. Sometimes without a lot of warning, because they are literally the only ones she had trusted enough to tell she was Hannah. Plus Robby Ray is canonically as famous as Billy Ray Cyrus is in real life, so it's not like Miley would even be completely unknown/anonymous by the general public, instead of being an artist herself she would just be considered that old country singer's daughter. Lowkey it seems like Robby Ray was trynna be a Kris Jenner for Miley but instead of making it obvious shes a nepo baby, he gave her a false identity so he could use his connections to get her in to the music scene while not having to live in the limelight again himself. Make the world think she was so talented she just made it, when in reality it was all him. PLUS he's probably the one that hired this publicist, he can fire her and find someone that actually gives forewarning to events and keeps like a calendar or something. Also why is Robby Ray not talking to Miley's Publicist BEFORE they make plans for something for Hannah? Does she just not have his number to call him up and say "Hey big thing happening, I need Miley these days and these times". Miley's manager/publicist and her dad expecting her to manage everything while offering no support or help to her at all are the true villains of the story IMO.

fun "where are they now" fact: Emily Osment, who plays Lily, is getting her own show on CBS in the fall. Her character, Mandy, was introduced in the last few seasons of Young Sheldon. She is the first wife of Sheldon's brother Georgie. George and Mandy are getting their own show.

to answer your questions about Jackson: there was originally a subplot where Jackson didn't get into college but told his dad he did and he is pretending to go to college while actually working at his cousin's zoo while waiting to apply to college. Most of his scenes were cut for time. It followed the formula of the show where Jackson usually had a B-Plot. I really like this movie when I was a teenager. It was what I wanted from a Hannah Montana movie: a struggle between dual identities, Hannah taking over Miley's life and Miley needing to be reminded who she really is (granted the execution of this plot could have been better). There are a lot of flaws in the movie, even as a teenager I thought it was stupid she doesn't just call Travis and reschedule the date. I really shipped Miley and Travis and wish he had been in the show. Lorelli also ought to have been in the show. The movie is canon to the show, her identity reveal was referenced, which makes it even weirder the show more or less acts like the movie isn't canon. I never liked that she puts the wig back on, I think it ruined the moment, they all just wanted her to go back to being her non-authentic self. I guess the writers did it in order to continue the show but they didn't have to. The last season of the show could have been about her adjusting to life being out of the closet.

Btw they do reference the movie in later seasons but only that all of Crowley Corners knows all of her secret. Jackson even uses it as a point so Miley will let his gf know the secret so she doesn't think he's cheating on her or hiding something important from her.

one st patricks day when i was like 7 i went to a parade w my dad after the parade there was a fair kinda thing w food and games and stuff to watch. they had a ring and some wrestlers and one was called the vampire. he drank a red substance that, from a 7 year olds pov, looked like blood. i got scared so my dad and i left but i was still scared so he tried to cheer me up. he said "were going to a hannah montana concert" i was beyond excited- it was my first concert and i was gonna see my favorite artist. we get to the theatre and get in our seats, in the front, and wait a few mins in the dark. then big luminous letters spelling out H-A-N-N-A-H M-O-N-T-A-N-A lit up the room and there she stood, in her sequin dress like the one in the beginning of this video. i truly felt like i had made it big. maybe even had the chance to become her best friend and then maybe even a popstar like her! i mean we were RIGHT near the stage and somehow my dad got last min tickets. it was a dream come true... took 7 year old me about 10 mins to realize my dream was literally a dream as she was on a screen and it was just a recording of one of her concerts 💀

They actually did mention the movie in the series once. In the season 3 episode “For (Give) A Little Bit” Miley and Jackson were arguing while Miley as Hannah was giving a radio interview on the phone. She made fun of her brother and Jackson got mad at her for saying sth embarrassing about him to which Miley replied that nobody knows Jackson Stewart is Hannah Montana’s brother and Jackson said that the whole town of Crowley Corners knows.

As a huge Miley fan, thank you for completely reminding me why I skipped the Hannah Montana era. Another wonderfully edited video with great comedic timing that gives us the best of both worlds.

I live in Tennessee and the way that it worked whenever you get left to land is that you have to pay what is owed otherwise it becomes the states property…. Which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me…… because if it’s left to the town, the town is who would sell it…. And if the town can’t pay the taxes…. Then it would go to the state… the whole thing doesn’t make a lot of sense

The problem with this movie is at the point in the series when Hannah wasn’t a spoiled fame-obsessed brat so it was weird that the movie started with this as the protagonists issue. What made Hannah Montana was not just the singing, the wigs/outfits, the escapism into the Hannah world - it was Jackson, Oliver, Rico, Lily and her dad. They were barely in it! They could have made a few captivating sub plots using these characters instead of Travis loves Miley but Miley is Hannah and Oswald from the UK is trying to expose her secret…. And then Crowley Corners just keeps the secret?!! WHAT?!!

The character Lilly was also very insufferable lol. Thankfully Emily osment had a redemption for me when I watched her show Young and Hungry 🤣 which I still love to re watch

the movie is a weird thing for me, bcs for as big of a fan of Hannah Montana i was i don’t have any recollection of the movie or even having a big want to see it?? like i was the exact age demographic for the show and watched it whenever i could, i had that first Hannah Montana CD that i listened to constantly on my CD player, me and my childhood friend both loved the show and copied funny moments from it, and the two biggest songs from this movie i know i listened to!!! the Hoedown Throwdown verse and dance is ingrained in my mind, and i had plenty of angsty pre-teen moments while listening to The Climb, but the movie? nah. nothing. i know somebody who is in that crowd of fans from the concert at the beginning, and i went to the same middle school that Miley Cyrus attended too, all of this just makes me even more baffled that this movie isn’t a core memory for me. the only logical thing is that at that age i was also obsessed with High School Musical and Sonic the Hedgehog as well so maybe that occupied my three braincells and overwhelmed the one Hannah Montana braincell all that to say your video is the closest i’ve ever gotten to watching the movie, and seems to be the better option over watching it for your commentary and bcs i know i wouldn’t have the patience for it now as an adult LMAO

Look to this day I turn off my skepticism for the whole can't tell the difference between Miley and Hannah, honestly I totally understand that. I understand most of this girl's songs are almost yelling that she has a dual life, I can let that slide, to them they think it's just a popstar talking about being a popstar. But I didn't suffer prefrontal cortex injuries to believe that that nobody was recording her unwigging, that no one posted it online, that nobody, not TMZ or any other paparazzi minus that British guy didn't sneak off and threaten to release the video to the world for money. I watched this movie in cinemas when it came out cuz I’m old and never saw anything to do with it again until today. GOD the vindication I feel from you defending Miley and pointing out how shitty everyone is being towards this actual high schooler whose wealth they’re all leeching off.

What bugs me the most about the movie is how inconsequential it’s made. It felt like Disney wanted to have their cake and eat it too, capitalizing on the popularity of Hannah Montana but not wanting to isolate anyone that only saw the show and not the movie, so nothing happens that can carry over into the show. Miley doesn’t permanently learn a lesson about balancing her life or focusing on her friends, she doesn’t get to stop being Hannah, she doesn’t become Hannah all the time, Travis is dropped immediately after the movie ends as are her extended family, the dads love interest is never brought up again either. It like it’s complete (expensive) filler, and it had a chance to do something interesting multiple times just by the series remembering ANYTHING from the movie. Imagine if she had to deal with the world knowing who she was (and then they do this later on before the end of the show anyway, just recycling the idea when it could have had more time to be fleshed out), or someone there actually DID reveal who she was. Or if any of the relationships continued onward. Or if Miley had learned to respect her brother more and had the lesson stick instead of forgetting it like every episode of the show. This can still be a cash grab movie while having SOME consequences, good or bad. In comparison, the Lizzie McGuire movie presumably would have had SOME consequences had the series continued (I mention it because it was clearly the catalyst for the entire Hannah Montana series to exist$ and it didn’t undo its story by the end of the movie. Maybe the new show would have backpedaled some stuff but I would assume it would at least be worth watching the movie. It just feels like they squandered things and that’s a shame. Not that it was a deep show/movie, but it could’ve been handled better.

It's never stated that the land developer or whatever is making some type of yuppie community, it seems to be implying he would be adding something beneficial to the town: Apartments and a mall...Villain 😂. And if my memory of living in bum frick south (Selma) has taught me anything it's that southerm heat is awful, internet reception has a limit, and you better build a super walmart instead. A mall would be empty and rundown, but trust me a super walmart would be more popular and beneficial in a deep south town. 😂

Oliver's band mate took a picture of him "nibbling on a girl's ear" and for some reason Oliver and Lily withhold this information from her for most of that episode... guess they didn't want her to breakfot before some event. In the show she does another reveal and yet again it makes no sense. Do the writers of these shows think singers like Stefani Germanotta and Lady Gaga are two separate entities? Lol. Not only that but she gets publically attacked for "hiding" that she wasn't Hannah Montana. I just... It was so weird. The show ends with her going off to college with Lily. And what else... Oh Dolly Pardon in show is her god mother.
