Everything WRONG With My Supra MK5 - 1st Month 

“Exhaust system to loud for my neighbors!” *starts up 800hp side exit DSM*

My 4 year old Supra is 87k miles and 0 issues, just regular maintenance. I’m also 6ft 2, no issues at all. I love my Supra B58 motor

I live in a quiet older neighborhood. The car is perfectly fine out of SPORT mode. I always take my Supra out of Sport mode when turning into my neighborhood and have received zero noise complaints from neighbors. What do you need to have your car in Sport Mode when driving down a 25 mph residential street anyway??? It's a button push to keep your neighbors happy.

The right mirror goes to so you can see the lines while you are backing in. It can be turned off by switching the adjuster slider to the other side.

I didn't think i wanted this car in black...but seeing it here jeez. Thing is prob terrifying if it passes you at night 🤣

Honestly none of these are really issues. Aside from whatever happened with your tune. I’ve had my A90 since August 2019, and have never had any of these issues. Exhaust too loud? Keep a valvetronic system, never had complaints from noise. Actually selling my FI catback if you want 😈. Sound system is pretty good actually, however I had to adjust the insulation around the speakers, all under warranty. After those adjustments the system is pretty good, not great, but not bad. It’s a great car overall, has to be my favorite car I’ve ever owned. B58 in the Supra is truly an amazing engine.

So you barely got it, modded the heck out of the engine, and you think it’s unreliable? Did you even drive it long enough to break in the engine?

The mirror problem is easy to fix, just change the mirror adjustment side switch (left or right mirror just under the arrows to adjust mirrors) to the opposite side. Confirm if it worked.

Got mine 6 months ago, a red 3.0 Supra GR for $61k😁I'm 5'9" fit, can imagine it getting less comfortable for someone taller, and if they are on the bigger side, can imagine it being difficult since you gotta bend your knees extra to get into this car. Also had a small pebble in the breaks too and a nail in the tire that I replaced. Even though BMW has a bad reputation on reliability, crossing my fingers this car is more on the reliable side. Mine at 15,000km now.

The side mirror going to the ground in reverse happens in a lot of the newer bmw’s it’s so that you can look at the lines on the ground when reversing

You can also program in sport plus for the engine and transmission. Try it out and see if you can notice the difference in shifting. Works great for mine.

I think the mirror goes down in R so the driver can see the parking lines/curb better. Idk I’m just assuming. Hope you’re enjoying the car! I’m green with envy 😅

I always thought it looks awesome in black. However I bought the a91mt in Cu later gray. Truly an awesome car. Always was a fan of the 911 but I feel the Supra's looks and handling are more pure sports car and very happy with it. Interestingly, the Supra outperforms the base new 911 carrera and carrera T in both auto and manual

I’m buying a 22 Outlander for my daily. If I want remote start, I would need to spend $300 plus/year for the app to get that. There is supposedly an aftermarket option that takes a good time installing to use my original fob. Glad I have a pretty big garage for activities!

He's right about the sound system,is crap for sure but then you complain about the RS3 radio for not been touchscreen but MY GOD is sounds incredibly GREAT,the best sound system i ever heard so far. DON'T forget,that 5 pot sound is all HARMONY 😁

ive had my supra for like 3 weeks and the only problem ive had so far is the carplay disconnecting everytime i shut the car off

I'm 20 on the list for a 2023 (not sure how many ppl are manuals, but thats what i want). Huge dealership in Oakland that sells at MSRP. I'm on the fence about getting it, I'll see where the used market is. If people will pay north of $70k to get the manual, when mine arrives, I'll do it. $64K (including tax) is a lot for a second car, as there is no way i'm putting 15k miles on this a year, and parking it in SF or oakland.

One suggestion: the title is a bit misleading: It should say “Everything wrong with my pre-owned and *highly* modified Supra”. Stock Supras are pretty reliable. I own a 22 Supra with 15k miles. It’s my daily and I love it. I’m 6’2” and it took me about 30 seconds to figure the correct method to get in an out of this car without looking like a fool. You are obviously a car guy and have great passion!

Now i'm wondering if I should wait for a refresh model to take care of those issues on the current model. I sat in the automatic supra and fell in love with it, but I want to make sure I make a smart choice. Ugh its sooooo tempting, though,lol.

The mirror goes to the floor so you can use it to watch a curve when parking.. since they know we like to park our nice cars closest to the curve to avoid cars on both sides lol

the 8 speed zf in this car is really smooth, if you told me it was a DCT id believe you, coming from a r35 GTR. It can be about as aggressive as a DCT but be smooth and drivable when not stomping on it. my FBO tuned ecu and tcu is always has too much drama even in bumper to bumper traffic where u can hear the clutch engage each time 1-2 gear.

At least in some BMWs if you move the mirror control toggle to the right* mirror it stops doing the auto tilt down on the right

Dude your car goes into the parking mirror mode, you might have to check how to turn it off, every time you tick into reverse, it goes down to make sure you don't touch the curb

Lol I hope the 65k is with all your mods... or you got ripped off. As for the light, come on what do expect when you tune a new car. The mirror tilt is so you don't curb your wheels when parallel parking. Gratz on the supra they are a beast.

Your car will pull timing fast with that Injen intake. It's the worst intake with keeping the IAT temps down.

I've got a 2023 M340 and I love the B58 engine, I too am murdered out. Great content, and btw I believe the reason for our mirrors going down when we go in reverse is I think so you can watch for curb sides not to scrape the wheels. but that's just my thought!

In reverse the mirrors go down so you can see the edge of the rear tires so you don’t scrape wheels on edge of cement.

So basically you have no problems? u mod the car and then a check engine light comes on and then blame the car for it? rocks inside the braking rotors? its a supra not an offroader, where did the rock come inside from? the mirror going doin so that u can see the curb while reversing isn't a problem i blv? but it might be annoying if you don't like to check the reverse area that way.

You can have an aftermarket shop to code in remote start to the key

The mirrors go straight to the floor so that you don't scrape your wheels. Lexus and Toyota have this feature. Oh and now Tesla too.
