Hey, David! How do we contact you? We sent an email but never got an answer. Could have gone to spam due to we left our email & phone number. I sent another on the way to work now. Same name. Thank You. As for the Supra manual, I think it was long overdue not sure if anyone said anything during the first batch about it being auto. I thought they would have made it one because they do have other cars in manual or you can request them in manual as you can with Honda.

Hearing that Toyota almost immediately began work on a manual transmission in response to customer's asking for it matters more to me than them actually making a manual Supra. It shows that Toyota is paying attention, and is responding to consumer feedback. Now we just need them to ramp up planned production numbers on the GR Corolla and crack down on markups.
@TheFK8Life

Toyota and all manufacturers don't care about consumers or enthusiasts. They care about profits and shareholders as well as executives. Let's keep it real. Thanks for the video. This 100% redeemed Toyota in my eyes is the reason why this car is at the top of my shortlist for my next sports car. Yes everyone is pushing EVs for the future but people can't look past the amazing "attainable" sports cars we have now and all with manuals. We have the Mazda Miata, the Veloster N (for not much longer), the Toyota GR 86 / Subaru BRZ, the Honda Civic Type R, VW Golf R, the Toyota GR Corolla, the Nissan Z, and this Toyota GR Supra. The fact that 3 of these cars are Toyotas is just proof that the leadership at Toyota knows what they need to do to make quality performance cars a reality. I did not even mention the manual variants of the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. Right now we have quite possibly the best affordable, manual sports cars ever made and maybe ever will be made. If people have the ability to buy any of these cars and sleep on them, they will regret it in the future because IMHO, in light of where the car industry seems to be going, these cars have all the makings of future classics. I would not be surprised if supercar owners make their way to a Toyota dealership because of Toyota's amazing lineup, because you can't row your own gears in many supercars with Porsche being the exception.

The clutch is so nice to my old knees. The car pulls like a I can’t believe a stock sub$60k car does. And if you want some spice you can get a lot for under $5k. Hearing some of the reviews on the s650 brings me back to that point where I’m wondering which one should I get. My question for you is do you miss your 5.0 v8? How did the mustang do in terms of wear and tear? I test drove the 2.0 supra because I couldn’t find a 3.0 anywhere close and it was really impressive. I’m sure the 3.0 will be even more impressing but does it compare to the v8. I test drove a s550 gt premium with a manual and it’s hard not to get excited about that noise. I have a 2022, and I really don't know why everyone complains about the visibility in the supra. I've had this car for 9 months now and have put almost 9k miles on it, and I have absolutely zero problems seeing out of it, or turning my head when I need to change lanes. Yes, it did take me about 2 weeks to get used to after coming from my FRS, but I now have absolutely no problems with it. As for the wind buffering problem, it's easily solved with a $150 mod, and can definitely confirm that I can roll both windows all the way down and it's a non issue up to 130mph. After that, I wouldn't recommend having the windows down 😂. I really do wish I knew that a manual version was coming. It was not announced until 5 months after I bought mine.

Man I will always hate how clunky and laggy modern manuals feel. Sounds to me like it could use a lighter flywheel like many cars these days. Also sounds to me that it cant handle bang shifting really well... youre shifting it quite slowly and it still wasnt dropping rpm as quick as it should for it.
@rex_s80
@rex_s80 Год назад
It’s not the flywheel but rather how it’s tuned for emissions. To reduce hydrocarbons of unburnt fuel droplets that form when rapidly closing the throttle body, they have the throttle stay slightly open to keep the air mixing with the fuel so it can combust in the exhaust instead of just fly through unburnt as droplets.

Now I admit I don’t fully understand how the RU-vid algorithm works in terms of thumbnails, so I’m sure you get more views based on the way you do things, but the “ruined everything 😭😞” on every other video gets really annoying. We all know that the video is not about something “getting ruined”, in fact it’s always just a great video about the comparison of two cars in the same general class or maybe a following of a certain type of car, so I just don’t get why you do the clickbait thumbnails. Again, no hate at all towards you man. You’ve got some of the best car content videos on RU-vid. Please like if you agree so David will see this.

From what I have seen on the manual gearing it looks really fun. Even 5th and 6th gears. With that said, I would guess the gas mileage of the manual will take quite a hit over the auto. Only 1 overdrive gear and its a 0.85. At 65 mph you'll be at 2400 rpm and 80 mph you will be at 3000 rpm cruising on interstate. Not that we buy cars like this for gas mileage. Just pointing out its geared aggressively which is great for performance. We paid for 6 gears. Might as well use them all.

The auto Supra 100 percent gives you the sense of speed, not sure where the idea that it doesn't comes from. There's not a single person who can shift faster than the ZF 8 speed and it's incredibly quick. If you want a casual enthusiast car, then go for the manual, but if you want a fast car, go for the auto. The pulls you can make in the auto will outperform the manual all day.
