Toyota GR Supra 3.0 MT | 1 Year Review! 

As a 2023 MKV 6MT owner for also a year now, I agree with everything you said. Toyota purists are going to hate, but it's a good collaboration. I've owned a lot of cars in the past and this is the most fun car I have ever owned. I look for excuses to go grab groceries in it and run errands and take it out of the garage.

I feel like BMW and Toyota are the best to collaborate You got the ultimate driving experience (BMW) and as a Bmw owner the best ride ive owned by far and you got Toyota known for their reliability so put them together and you got probably the best car to come out in recent years

Awesome review! As a 23 mkv owner as well i agree with everything you said. I love the way she drives as well. Handles great and shifts even better. The greatest part that not many cars can say is the supra feels like it has a soul.

Great video. Loved what you did to your car. I was lucky enough to get 1 of the 500 A91-MT’s in CU Later Gray. Added aftermarket catted down pipe, aluminum intake pipes and performance air box. Carbon fiber front splitter and side skirts. On rear added Verus engineering high wing and rear diffuser. Powder coated the stainless exhaust tips black. Absolutely love the car and has exceeded all my expectations. Zero problems after 1 1/2 years of ownership. Wish you many miles of enjoyable driving.

I think the initial hate on the car was that it wasn't a manual. But like you said, once that manual was introduced, it truly opened up to what others thought, and rightlyfully so, the Supra should have been. Great car and nice video!

TS, My ‘22 auto is on a basic Stg 2 FEMTO bm3 with OEM hardware save for the downpipe. OTS maps for Pump 93 and E30 blend. E30 has a notable power increase in the mid/top end. I’ve preferred 93pump. Haven’t dyno’d it yet but it’s showing 500-530 hp on the power screen. Feels great!

I got a 24 Manual Supra and everything you said is spot on.

As an owner of an M550i, we’re kinda like half-brothers haha. Build is sick. Gotta admit I haven’t been on this channel since a lot of the gun content has gone away, but I think I’ll be coming back regularly now. Hope you’ve been well🤙🏼

The critical question is, "Are you a true car enthusiast?" I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Who cares about collaborations between manufacturers? For instance, I once owned a Harley Davidson Night Rod Special. Interestingly, its engine was designed by Porsche. Despite this partnership, the bike remained a true Harley Davidson and was an absolute beast on the road. * That's awesome that you can tune out the cold start. I appreciate what you said about not pissing off the neighbors, especially peeps like me who live in a Cul-de-sac and in an HOA 🤬

Great video! I really like the mods you've chosen, very nicely done. I'm in the process of trying to get a 2023 or 2024 Supra of my own. As an owner, I'm hoping maybe you can answer a couple questions and clarify a few things for me. I've seen other videos where they mention if you have the manual trans, the car doesn't come equipped with adaptive cruise, but you mention at 14:01 that it does. The steering wheel controls on the manuals don't appear to have the "follow distance" adjustment buttons that the automatics do. So just looking for some clarification on whether you were just making a general statement about the Supra having adaptive cruise available, or if your manual car actually has adaptive cruise. I'm also curious about the "pumped in" exhaust sound that apparently these cars have, where the speakers pump the exhaust sound into the car. Does the tune, and/or the after market exhaust eliminate that, or is the sound still pumped in? Finally, I'm guessing by unlocking the ECU, that pretty much voids any warranty the car has. I guess if someone is buying the car to mod it, the warranty isn't of much concern, but just curious. Sorry for the enormously long comment/question. I think this is one of the best "review/ownership" vids I've seen, so really well done. Thanks for putting it together and sharing with the rest of us.

Love the review and vid bro. Love the car and build. I have a 2020 Tundra, so in keeping with the Toyota brand, in highly considering buying a Supra. I'm debating between the VA 3.0 Supra, Nissan R35, or Nissan Z, but leaning towards the supra. I hope you don't mind that I copy parts of your build.

This car has grown on me after playing GT7. I was racing against one and the deep exhaust note and burble got me.

Apples and Oranges for me since I was cross shopping this and the Honda Civic Type R. I come from having owned BMW M3's and M4's but want something cheaper and maybe as more fun to tune. Your thorough review gave me some guidance to go with the MKV 6MT. I would kit it out similarly to how you set it up, (since I follow your CCW recommendations :) Thanks for the high quality video.

I went with the 2017 BRZ, sold that for a profit 2 years later and found a 2019 BRZ with only 6k miles on it (in 2022), completely stock. Supra was my next choice, just a Subaru fanboy at heart.

Sei, I’m surprised you haven’t changed the steering wheel yet. I’m eager to do mine as it represents my most interactive tactile interface. But for you, it would only represent your left hand interface while your right hand rows gears.

I was also going for a GR86 and then completely changed my mind after they announced the MT for the Supra. Got my MT back in December. Personally the lows are terrible on the speakers, but that's really the only complaint. How's your boost logic catback holding up? I heard lots of mixed reviews on it. Valves rattling, welds cracking, etc... I really want one but have been holding off.

The performance guages in the settings menu are pretty accurate from the different Supras I’ve been in. Mine sits right at the 400 range another buddies dynode at 475 ish and his guages were reading around 465-470. So off by a few from the day I but I would say those are pretty accurate. Also after having it tuned the range went from 400 indicated to 700 indicated

As a previous 2021 A91 owner. Only thing that I hate about the MK5 is the fake vents and the fact that Toyota should’ve let us have the MT earlier. Was disappointed when after I got mine. The MT came. Still miss my A91. Basket 🧺 Handle wing looks so good on the MK5.

Wish I had the manual, but the zf8 isn’t the worst transmission so I can live with the it!

I LOVE BMW M Cars, but recent BMW styling choices, bloat and prices have really turned me off. I now have a Supra on order because it reminds me of all the good stuff that BMW performance cars used to offer. While many old school Toyota fans might not like it, old school BMW fans should seriously consider it.

I'm in the NON- hater club! When it first came out it seemed like I was one of the only people who thought it was a sick looking car. I wonder how the stock clutch will hold up to increased power. I haven't heard anything but it is still fairly new and the amount of them is few.

Exactly " Are you even a real car enthusiast" IVe owned a M3, toyotas, I have the GTR 35 I owned a s2000, motorcycles, And I plan on buying another M3 later on, I like cars the drive well, I dont stick to one brand. When I heard BMW was calabing with Toyota I thought that was a awesome thing, its not the first time Germany and Japan joined together.

As a owner of a 2022 model since Nov 2021, the "BMW" hateness has drastically reduced. Most people realize now how good of a car it is, and how powerful the B58 is, they respect it a lot more. Of course there are a few of those living in the past and cry about it being a BMW still. Typically they're also the people that can't even afford one.

I just sold my 22 Supra premium. She was fun but I sold because man the value crashed bad. Got the new tundra limited with the xp.

What im hearing about the features included with the manual: Its not actually a manual. Its a "reach down and pretend ur changing gear" but we will take care of the rest. How can it be called a real manual if there is automatic rev matching? Makes zero sense

Lol hate its a bmw on the inside and the engine outside has looks, like the supra dont get my wrong the new is cool but its has nothing on the original. No matter what they do to it. u get in and think bmw and im more amg fan than a bmw fan the original amg not the new one they used to be hand made and now everything is built on a machine i get it has more hp and torque than the original but u keep trying to justify the car to make your purchase feel better i get it lol some people are just more down with new tech vs having to drop a engine into something and put all this money into it. Not that your not putting money into the new one but u out both togther and line them up and have maximum capabilities than id still choose the older generation its way more sexier if thats a word 😂😂😂 cool car but in my opinion a waste of money 😅 depending on who your talking to. as a 2023 GR86 owner, I’m gonna have to slightly disagree that the Supra is more fun to drive (granted I test drove a used 2.0 with automatic, my 86 is a manual) but it’s def a beautiful car. if later down the line Toyota makes a next gen Supra with a Boxer engine OR the GR Corolla engine, I’d be more inclined to buy one. it just feels weird driving a Japanese coupe with a German engine in it
