@@DouglasWalrath it honestly might be due to that. I mean they clearly see animals as dull stupid creatures but often times they have seen them do some insane stuff. Wish the lore was explored further.
*Coward.* Also they never showed her so we never knew if she was the stereotypical Romani. You can still say Gipsy, it’s only offensive if you use it to reference the Romani people.
A missing owl named Flacco gained news attention after escaping the Central Park zoo so missing penguins definitely would get media attention 13:10 there was a vigil when it died after hitting a window of a skyscraper
The penguins in Madagascar are cannonicaly adelie penguinsand they live on average 15 years (10-20 years) so The opening sequence of the movie could not have taken place at 1933. The carnival scene (when they get shot the cannon) is in reference to "Madagascar: Europes most wanted" (the previous movie to this one in 2012). Adelie penguins reach full maturity by age 4 and private is 10 by "penguins of Madagascar" so the other penguins are around 12. Thus the opening scene of the movie would have taken place somewhere in the 2000s?
Unlikely as the Penguins’ home at the Central Park Zoo started out as an iceberg like the iceberg they were on when they left Antarctica… before it was replaced by a cemented base in the Opening of the 2nd Madagascar film, and before the 1st Madagascar movie. This means that the Penguins would’ve likely left Antarctica in the 1960s, as there’s a newspaper in Madagascar 2’s opening that canonically puts the events of the opening in 1972. So it can’t be the 2000s.
@@ShockwaveFPSStudios The series of events we see in the films take place in the late 1900s. When the hell does it specifically take place? If not in the modern day of 2012 and 2014.
@@kaseypelyak4782While the first two movies don’t actually have a concrete placement, it’s likely the films takes place in the year those movies came out. With Madagascar taking place in 2005, while it’s sequel takes place in 2008. As for Madagascar 3 & the Penguins of Madagascar movie… those films do have A canonical placement. Like you said, Madagascar 3 takes place in June of 2012 (The Release Month of that movie), due to the American tour that the Chimps signed stated it will start in June 2012. And since the PoM movie continues right where Madagascar 3 left off… it’s easy to say that movie takes place in 2012 also.
Jermey's pettiness over the non-specific time frame is just peak cinema sins. Also, the running joke of Dave referencing celebs with his octopuses is still the funniest part of the movie
I don’t care how many sins the falling through the sky scene gets, I’ll just be really disappointed if he doesn't take at least one off for it’s phenomenal pacing, great action, twists, and top-notch humor throughout that awesome continuous take. It’s one of my absolute FAVORITE scenes in all animation.
As someone from South Bend, Indiana the home of Notre Dame college, I have to applaud the "luck of the Irish" joke Jeremy made in this sins video. Bravo guys.
I've literally been rewatching old CinemaSins videos for hours every day, seems to be the only thing that still makes me laugh. The vending machine rant, omg that was so funny!
See, I'm not insane for saying this is my favorite movie of all time. Not only does it hold a lot of nostalgia for me, it's a downright hilarious movie about the Penguins of Madagascar. What is there not to love?
I still find this movie to be really fun and entertaining, the penguins fast-paced witty dialogue and energetic action sequences just really shine here
CinemaSins: "I'm going to pull a date out of the air and say that this film starts in 1933 for no apparent reason other than to add sins to my counter." The movie: "the glorious future." CinemaSins: "I'm going to pull another, completely ridiculous date out of the air and say that this is 2185." Skipper: "Ten years ago, a tiny egg hatched..." CinemaSins: "According to my completely ridiculous and irrelevant timeline, this takes place 252 years after Private's birth, not ten, this is obviously a major flaw with the movie, not because I purposely pulled ridiculous dates out of the air just so that I could add sins to this movie."
It is a cliche backed up by reality If you look back at an explosion it is so god damn bright you risk losing your eye sight entirely. But it's still a cliche so. (Ding)
As someone who has stayed up all night with delirium working on a project, I’m feeling these animators were laughing their asses off at certain moments
5:52 +2 sins: No, but that's complete nonsense, nothing to say. Move the Octopus to another zoo because people prefer penguins. And yes, Dave, it's not the penguins that need revenge, it's the humans. They're the ones who treated you like animals.
It's just GOAT. ok? Greatest Of All Time is already past tense. Otherwise, you're saying it's the greatest movie of all that were timed, which is redundant since they're all timed.
#SinningBoeing is awesome. Love this movie though. Sorry, this and the first Puss N Boots were great at keeping my kids quiet on long car rides and I could enjoy the humor and music. "Play me something chasey"
It's a decent show, but it makes no sense canonically speaking: The penguins hated being at the zoo and in the show they get out of it multiple times just to get back in "captivity" for no reason
Cutting the Airplane dialog before we could hear, "And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it. He took her best summer dress, put it on and went to town." is a sin
The best spin off movie in history and one of the few that is better than the source content. Just wish there was a comprehensive RU-vid real of just the Penguin scenes from those otherwise terrible Madagascar movies.
