Fun fact- Tim Curry was going to play Rowan Atkinsons part until he found out Scrappy Doo was in the movie, he quit the movie because he hates scrappy Doo

This movie was apparently originally going to be darker and more adult, but the studio Warner bros wanted the movie to be more kid friendly and be more like the cartoon. It does explain a lot of the movies weird mood swings and inconsistent tone.

Scooby Doo is perfect, and honestly, it's all because of Matthew Lillard. No doubt, he was born to play Shaggy.

Shaggy used 2 percent of his power to make the movie in a instant, they had to delay the movie a year to filter it so whoever watched it won’t die instantly

You know on rewatching this something occurs to me. When Shaggy released his friends souls they wound up in the wrong body. Then ALL the souls in that bowl including presumably the people who'd already left the island and are scattered all over the globe get dumped out at once. So its pretty much guaranteed a lot of them are not in their original bodies at this point.
