I do see the light at the end of the tunnel but man that’s a difficult tunnel to get through!! I’m currently a new grad in the ICU and struggle to get by my day to day 😢
@@gen9250 Keep going! Hopefully you have a great preceptor. I remember some days crying when I got home they were not kind to me but God is awesome I left as soon as my orientation was up and within a matter of months I was making more than the nurse manager with travel contracts, worked with the most loving caring people doing travel so don’t give up! It is worth it.
This was also my “ideal” path in nursing school, atleast in my head it was. When I did my OR rotation, I quickly realized, no matter how much I got paid, I would not enjoy the setting CRNA’s work in, or what their day to day practice involved. I loved “managing” my cardiac surgical patients’ recovery when they came out of OR, and this helped me understand I would have most satisfaction as a critical care NP/PA, driving the overall comprehensive care of my patients. The journey to our own unique niche is the best part! There are unlimited pathways and final destinations in nursing, you can always find something that makes you thrive.
I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for everything you and your wife do! With all the negatives backlash, nursing school and RNs get, It is so refreshing to watch you and motivate us to not give up on nursing. I hope to one day say thank you in person. just THANK YOU!!
Stay positive. Social media is noisy yet stay on the lane with people who pull you to get motivated and drive you to success. Thank you for choosing Nursing amidst noise.
I have always said it that a CRNA does exactly the same thing as Physician anaesthesiologist in practice. But I know most physicians would never want to agree with this
I've been following both of you guys for a while now. There's not alot of male nurses in the industry putting out informative content. I graduate from nursing school next year. Thank you for this video
I've been watching Jason Bolt's videos for a while now ever since I started doing research on becoming an RN. I pretty much learned what a CRNA is from him. I start training as a CNA soon and aim to become a CRNA. I appreciate this video so much and so grateful for both yours and BoltCRNA's channels!
I have been a subscriber to bolt for years! This is the collaboration I needed! Every episode it a freaking banger! Your channel is gonna be booming in a few months jayson! You haven’t even scratched the surface yet! God bless you and all your endeavors, I will be a lifelong supporter of you and your wife!
Sorry this is a new comment lol I came across your page last month and I’ve almost binge watched all your videos right to the end. Thank you for everything you do. There are not many channels that put out informative content about nursing like you do. You’re just the best. I just got my diploma in nursing.. next stop BSN and final stop CRNA 💪❤ Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@NursesToRiches OMG! You replied 😍 I’m Nigerian, schooling in Cameroon. Please can you make a video of the best ways for African nurses to migrate to the US and the qualifications they need to have for that to happen. The only thing I’m worried about constantly is how to get to America 😔 Thanks once again 🙏❤️
I really hope CRNA schools maintain the standard . They shouldn’t attempt to make the program online . The reason why the CRNA profession is still very respected is because it everyone knows the rigorousity of the program
Awesome video as always! People talk about CRNA as the next step after bedside all the time, but this is a first for me really learning the trade In Virginia Old Dominion University’s Nurse Anesthesia program is only $58k. Not per year, but total. In absolute steal of an investment for a doctorate
🥹❤️ cant wait get there. Met Nurse Bolt in 2019 at CRNA airway simulator event. Such a beautiful soul 🥹🤞🏾❤️. He's knowledgeable, very informative, and kind.
Even though I don't have an iota of interest in ever becoming a CRNA, I totally loved this vid. It was chock full of really great information! THANK YOU JASON!
Thanks Samian! I don't usually let most of a conversation go on for over an hour in one of our RU-vid videos but I thought this content would be too valuable to cut short for nurses wanting to become CRNAs.
The acceptance rate for CRNA school is the same acceptance rate just for my local community college RN programs. Hundreds apply in my area and they take like 20-25/yr? Some of these schools are just ridiculous all the way around
It’s interesting hearing how guarded CRNAs are about pay. I know other providers don’t discuss pay because of the reasons listed. NP for the most part have been the most transparent with me about how much they make. Have you thought about interviewing a RN Case Manager? I think that’d offer a new perspective on a side of nursing many people don’t hear about. Thanks for making another informative and interesting video!
I love interviewing nurses in unique specialties and if you find any of them, send them my way. I've just had bad luck getting anyone to respond to my messages or follow through with an interview.
Omg I was premed too and went with nursing so I could have a job to pay for med school, bc I wanted to learn something, and bc I wanted to be a doctor that learned holistic care. And now I’m thinking CRNA. I can’t believe other ppl are doing the same bc I was treated like I was insane for it
Sammmeeee I was a med student and a lot of surgeons tell me including chief of surgery that I should go the CRNA especially if I know I want to do anesthesiology
@@NursesToRiches yea he said his wife is a CRNA and she lives the life he wants lol even my mentor who’s an anesthesiologist pushed me towards that… he said 12-13 years ago he’d say go for the medical school route but today and moving forward CRNA is a better lifestyle option
Hmmm.. this is dicey. Since you are in med school already. I would have loved you just continue your programme and work towards anaesthesiology residency
I’m 33. Currently in healthcare administration. My current employer is offering nursing school for free. If I do this, I’ll be interested in becoming a CRNA. Am I too old to get into the field?
Not at all. You can pursue nursing and finish as a CRNA by the time you're 42 or you could pursue nursing and remain a nurse rather than continue onto your CRNA degree if you change your mind.
@Lordcampana what healthcare group offers that? For example, a university hospital type? BTW, you are so fortunate if you get it that education for free...
On the point about being supervised erroneously… personally I won’t mind if that happens. My pursuit of CRNA doesn’t include a need to be an independent practitioner. I fully understand why lots of people like that part of it, but if it keeps the OR civil& tones down the politics, Dr. Whoever can sit there with me& chill while I care for my patient. Not my budget to balance. No big! (:
Great collab, I watch boltCRNA for the past few years because I am interested in becoming a CRNA. He's a great source of content that answers a lot about CRNA.
A doctorates is required now? Yikes. No thanks. Guess I won't be working towards that after all. Might as well go to Med school if I'm going to invest that much into it.
Jason, Bolt is such a cool last name! It sounds like a superhero with lightening bolt super powers. You ought to get someone to draw you as cartoon Bolt( the super hero), we'd love that.
You know what’s crazy I just seen a comment and I’m really thinking how there’s more men that helped me and been nice to me in nursing then women. And there’s not even that many male nurses yet. Now that’s crazyyyy
