I'm 22 & start cosmetology school in 2 days! I'm super excited I finally figured out the right path for me after trial and error with college for a couple year 🥺 your videos helped me so much! ❤️
same i’m 22 with a 2 year old daughter, did college even tried an emt course but i finally completed my papers for beauty school i start in 2 weeks and am super excited because i feel like now i’m headed where i’m supposed to go 💖
I’m 17 thinking about going to cosmetology school for my senior year and I’m nervous 😅 but excited. I have social anxiety and don’t socialize much, so I’m hoping this helps me with that as well… 😌
hey!! i just turned 19, and had the WORST anxiety when i was in my middle teens. like… i got kicked out of extra curriculars because of how horrible it was. Getting a job really helped with my anxiety, getting into the routine of talking to customers makes it feel so much easier. i’m sure you’re gonna make a great cosmetologist
GIRLLL SAME!! youre not alone 😩i suffer from rlly bad social anxiety and it fucking sucks thats why im scared to go into cosmetology school but i gotta do this for me and ik i can overcome this fear so you got this!! im rooting for you! ❤️
You can do this!!! I was in the same mindset as you were in, I do cosmetology now as a senior and on the firs couple of days my anxiety was very bad and I didn’t think I could do it. 2 weeks later I’m living out my fear, don’t let anxiety stop you from fulfilling your dreams. Build a good relationship with your instructors, be kind, try your hardest and most importantly don’t give up.
I am doing it for my junior year in highschool and I am very nervous, but also excited, so I think you will do fine, as long as you show up on time and get your hours 😁😁.
Hey! In Tennessee a cosmetologist is basically also a nail tech and an esthetician (with some small limits). We can get certified in machines and everything an esthetician would as cosmetologists, as well as microblading and permanent makeup. For nails we have to learn acrylics and sculpting nails is part of the state board exam. (Basically, we learn cut, color, styling, braiding, manis & pedis, gel polish, regular polish, acrylic, dip powders, nail designs, anatomy, facials, waxing, lashes, makeup, and *optional* microblading/permanent makeup, massage therapy, and barber certification to work with a straight razor.) We also get 70(ish) hours of missed time, but you can't be late to class more than 7 days in one trimester or you get suspended. This is because of a TN program that makes school free for basically everyone at TCAT, although this rule might just be for my school. So yeah! I'm glad you clarified that it is only that way in your state and might be different in other states, because it is way different here lol. At my TCAT we only have max 20 people per trimester, too! Thanks for the informative video! :)
I put school off to get married and have my girls and to raise them. But now I’m so ready to get out there and live my dream and show them no matter how old you are (not that I’m old) you can always chase a dream!
I did the same! I started my family at 17, I’m now 22, two kids, married and a stay at home mom.. about to start school in a month.. I’m so ready to start my career and show my kids mommy CAN make her dreams come true
I’m a high school senior currently and cosmetology school is my dream and I really wanna do it after high school!! Thank u for this video it was helpful! 😊✨
You probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last couple of weeks =)
I recommend applying for as many Grant's and scholarships as soon as possible so it doesn't cost as much. I'm going free cause I did everything I needed before I needed. Xoxo
Haha I toured a beauty school yesterday and the students were like beware of the drama. My response was baby I go to a performing arts college with classes of 50 people. This will be nothing lol.
I’m considering cosmetology school after almost 20 years in the corporate world. I plan to watch more videos and talk to people about their experience before making the leap. Thanks for the tips!
Brandy, I had the same experience seeing patients in Hygiene school. I’m hoping Cosmetology will be the same as I will start school in July. I’m hoping working hygiene and doing school won’t kill me! 😅
I’m so excited for you that you’re almost done! We start state boards in the next zone and then we do nails and skin after which I’m more excited for 😂 but with my class there’s no drama which is so nice, we all love each other! But it feels like all the other zones have their cliques but my zone were one big happy family 💕
Thanks for such a detailed and well explained cosmo school breakdown! I have been thinking of cosmo school for yearssss and may finally take the plunge after researching the pros and cons for a while. Thanks again ♥️
Thanks for this video! I am a bit confused on what I am wanting to do but I am thinking of going to some kind of cosmetology school so I am looking around for videos to see if they can persuade me haha, your definitely helped so thank you xx
Thank you so much for your video it really helps with knowing what to expect. I just applied for cosmetology school waiting on my financial🙏🏻 cant wait to start
i am currently studying to take my GED and than i’m applying for cosmetology school! i already took a tour of the school and talked to the director! i’m so excited😁
Hi! I start cosmetology school in June! I am so excited - watching this made me even more excited and ready!! I’m so glad that ill be able to meet some good girl friends!!!!
So happy & thankful you posted this 🤩 I start at Toni & Guy in Braintree in December!! So crazy that Mass only needs 1,000 hours & RI needs 1,200!! Thank you for the video i love your content can’t wait to see what you future as a hair dresser looks like❤️ GOOD LUCK ON YOUR STATE BOARD!!!!
Loved the video! Very sweet and genuine. I went to trade school and college for Graphics. Unfortunately the pandemic hasn't aloud me to find much work in the design world that I'm specifically good at. Always wanted to do Hair when I was little, and think extensions and wigs and makeup are so cool. Just trying to decide if it's worth the change since I'm still not working . Thanks for the nice simple content !
Thank you for the insight. I’m getting close to retiring from a career in accounting finance. I can’t see myself not working and interacting with people. During college and part-time after, I worked in fine dining. I miss that fun atmosphere and always hearing a heart-felt thank you from a host entertains guests. I always wanted to become skilled in hair, helping people feel great about themselves.
I'm starting cosmetology school in September and I'm SO excited😋 pretty nervous because I know it's a lot but I'm very excited and I've watched all your videos about it and I feel better 😊
I really like the information you have given as I am planning to go to the Cosmotology school very soon and studying about that online and also watching videos so it helps a lot 😊
heyyy Danielle!!!! im Emilia and i am 16 and ive always wanted to be a cosmetologist!!!! ive been watching these types of videos so i can kinda see whats ahead of me in the future and im just overall super exited!!!! love yeah girl!!!! i hope your having an amazing day todayyyy!!!!
Thank you so much for all of the great info you provided! I've been looking into doing something like this for awhile now. Especially having two under two. LOL 😆
Just watched your video! So glad I did! I start on the 25th. 34 yo mom of 2. Couldn't be any more excited to start my future. Even if I'm a little late to the game. Thanks again!
i’ve just finished my first semester of college and knew it never felt like the right path for me. i’ve always had an interest in cosmetology and am thinking of switching over !!
It's interesting how the scope of practice varies so much from state to state. Here in utah I can do facials, cuts/color, style, makeup, waxing, acrylics and gel, etc under a Cosmetology license.
I rlly like ur video..I’m a high school junior and we have this program at school where we can learn hand skilled work and I chose cosmetology so I’m watching this to know about it ✨🙃🙃🙃
I start on tuesday and this is so helpful!! question: do you make commission on haircuts you do in school? granted they're really cheap as it is, but it's nice to have an extra few dollars!
I’m Brooklyn, I’m 13. But my whole life I’ve been dreaming abt cosmetology school, I can’t wait. I’m starting collage classes next year and I can not wait. I am planning on opening my own business whe I grow up, an I mainly want to be a hairstylist!!❤️
I’m currently a Junior in high school and I want to attend a cosmetology school after I graduate. I take cosmetology as one of my electives and we’re able to get our license if we pass the state board test. Even if I get my license, I am still going to attend a cosmetology school so I can learn more! I love learning about cosmetology. :)
I don’t post much, but I’m a person with severe anxiety , and I’m nervous AF , I’m starting this spring and I watched this video this helped a lot my only concerns are the bookwork and testing, I hope taking the test is easy for me too 😦, May I have some tips how to study 📚
How did you do? Are you done with school yet? Just remember that everyone is too busy worrying about their own problems and it's important to believe in yourself and know that sometimes the reasons that we have anxiety are just stories we make up in our heads that aren't even true. Don't rob yourself of experiencing the present moment in joy because you deserve better than that.
I get to do cosmetology my junior year of highschool, and when we did the signing thingy, I made three new friends, two cosmetology, and one engineering. 😊😊
I loved this video! Im currently in school in PA! I don't know what it is like where you live, but in PA you can take your boards early at 900 hours. Do you recommend that or should i wait until 1250?
What I’m most nervous about is making friends to be honest. I don’t typically go out of my way to talk to/ meet people because of my anxiety, but I also just look mean I guess so people try to avoid me. It’s not a good mix and it’s given me a lot of trouble ): hopefully someone talks to me though because I don’t know how I’ll make it through without a friend
I was like this too when I started! I just sat at my station alone, basically in a corner my first day lol but the person stationed next to me has become my bestie and we practice hair and stuff on each other. It was intimidating at first but I didn't have to go out of my way to make friends, they just came to me! Maybe it will be the same for you :) Good vibes generally attract good vibes
I am a 40 year old mom of 2 young children who has spent almost 20 years managing hi-rise luxury condominiums. I need a change and have always loved hair and makeup. I am considering cosmetology school early next year. I searched for videos and have found you and I can't stop watching!! I'm very close to making a huge career change and going to cosmetology school!
Hi you inspired me and tired of working from one plant to another I think is time to follow my dream I start classes This fall I am now 38 My question is do you have to take a test BEFORE you start any classes?and what’s the prize for books? Please replay back
I really want to do cosmetology! but my parents don’t think i’ll make enough to afford things. So instead they made me do a property management course about 5 months ago but still no job. i feel like i won’t like it but with cos, i’ll feel like i’ll love it . i also want to get lash certification but idk what to do :( .
I’ve been wanting to go to Cosmetology school but don’t got what I need for it yet, ik I got the talent in me but will take a lot of practice and time like you said. Thank you for this video it was very helpful and informative 😊! I appreciate it sm! Also I one question I hope someone answers/replies to me lol, I wanted to know if I could still do cosmetology school regardless of my absence of my school, missed sm of my sophomore year and junior year, this year I’m going to be a upcoming senior. I really hope I get into it either way, I will try my best to go on everyday that I need to go and on time ofc. Ik I’ve missed a little to much in my classes I’ll look into the internet more and ask questions about this and other stuff. Thank you again.
I am going to be a freshmen in high school and I am lucky enough to have a cosmetology class at my school. I am going to do it all 4 years of school and if I pass it I should graduate with a professional cosmetology license!!
Did 710 hours at Paul Mitchell down in Texas. I just recently moved back to Alaska where there aren't any name brand schools, just smaller, more local ones. Finding out where I'm meant to complete at after being in the big world of Paul Mitchell will be interesting.
Where I live (norway) cosmetology school doesn’t exist I think. We have hairdressing programs in high school, and then you become an apprentice (I think it’s called) at a salon for two years
i’m 18, just graduated and i’m not too sure like what to expect so this helped me out. i really hope i put myself out there to go to cosmetology school. i just really don’t know if i want to be an esthetician or cosmetologist 😅
I'm thinking about going to cosmetology school. But am uncertain if it is right for me. I've also considered becoming a cosmetology instructor. Just out of curiosity, do you have to work as a cosmetologist, before becoming an instructor. Your feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for the video.
I’m currently in cosmetology school in Connecticut, we have to do 1500 hours to graduate and our first 200 hours are considered the “freshman” period. Once you pass your first 200 hours, you go downstairs and can start taking clients.. I just passed my freshman final and my first 200 hours and i’m EXTREMELY nervous to start taking clients. Everyone tells me not to worry because a large majority of the clients are regulars and they’re super nice but it’s still so nerve wracking lol but I’m also excited to hone my skills!! It’s been such an amazing experience so far and I couldn’t be more glad I finally started working towards my dream career. Thank you so much for this video!
Might be giving up accounting for now. Lots of classes still virtual or online and can’t learn that way. I think I’ll try to pursue this path. I’m a tomboy but hey, ya never know!
Heyy!! I live in RI too!! Im about to start cosmetology school in a month at Paul Mitchell. Im a bit nervous and don’t know what to do to prep. Any advice?
I found your video helpful. I'm thinking of going myself. My concern is I have a learning disability. Not sure if the school can or will acomadate without extras fees.
So glad I could help! I feel as though they wouldn’t charge any extra fees and if they do that’s wrong. But definitely see all your options and pick whats best for you!
im thinking of dropping out of school to go to cosmetology school! i’m so scared. im a junior in college as a dental hygiene major and i feel like i’m stuck, and it makes it unhappy. i love cosmo so much!
I'm proud for you girl Danielle and you look beautiful as always yesss I'm glad you safe girl and you are my favorite fan for youtube channel girl cause you are romantic God bless you and your family as well ❣❣❤❤ 💖 💛 💗 💕
What do think? I don’t like doing my own hair I just feel like it’s hard on myself, but dojng others is fun I don’t know a lot like i do the simple things to there hair! I’m 17 and it sounds fun to do! Do you think I should maybe give it a try or no once I’m done with high school? Also how much do you usually get payed either hourly or weekly?!
If it’s something you know you will enjoy for the rest of your life, do it! Definitely finish high school first! My weekly pay ranges from $300-$500. But every week is different and every salon pays differently
I am starting cosmetology school this Fall. I was discouraged since I was a teenager. Went and got the 4 year degree with debt. Now I'm 42 changing careers finally get to do what I wanted to do in 2000!
i’m 15 and have wanted to do hair/cosmetology ever since my first haircut😂 my dream is to get into this specific school, my junior and senior year of high school, which gets u your license right out of hs!! just trying to learn everything i can🤍
Hey! Thank you so much for making this video. I am just starting high school and I honestly don't know much about cosmetology school so I had a questions. Do you go to college and then when you are done go to cosmetology school, or do you only go to cosmetology school? I want to go to college so what do you recommend me majoring in, something that would fit with cosmetology?
@@DanielleRounds OMG! Thank you for replying! Thanks for letting me know but I really want to go to college so what would you recommend me majoring in?
