I refrain from upgrading all of my essences because the tab looks nice when there's atleast one of each c:

I still have no idea what a fracture is or how its made etc. Crafting SO complicated and convoluted in this game, real shame. Not to mention its always the same skills with very boring playstyles or animations every league which you have to play to get to some endgame. There's a lot of nothing to do in PoE.

Can't use essences on items with metamods anymore. It just gives you an error message.

re: "Suffixes Cannot be Changed" I'm pretty sure the item isn't rerolled and the essence is instead prevented from being applied while displaying an error notification. So your item isn't completely bricked but you are out the initial craft cost

Hey Ziz, I love your guides. Can you make an example of crafting with essences? I just slap an essence on an item, but I have no idea how to continue from there. An example or two of slapping an item with an essence and then improving would go a long way to help me understand the process. Thanks.

I just got to maps last night. I'm overwhelmed..but it seems like the party is in Haewark Hamlet.

I cringe when people do math badly. If you have 68% total resistance that means you are taking 32% damage, moving from 32% damage to 25% damage by adding 7% reduction? That my friends would be a 22% reduction in total damage. Small percentages can have a huge impact and saying 6 to 9% isn't significant?..... Even at 50%, it would still be a 14% decrease in damage taken.

As a novice in game, I vendored all essences, because I didnt know, what to do with them xD Crafting in PoE seems to me so much complicated with a lot of RNG. I love simple crafting from World of Warcraft, just you learn a recipe from trainer or droped scroll and craft the item.

If Essences respect metacraft and other restrictions like harvest, then we are back. But it's too RNG for my taste.

Do you only corrupt essence monsters that can upgrade into the unique ones? Or do you corrupt all of them?

Always use deafening if you can afford it. It is still an upgrade compared to the others.

Have you been finding the fracture Harvest crafts? I've gone through like 50 sacred groves in Haewark with all the Harvest passives, and I've not yet seen a single t4 seed, much less the specific one I want. =(

Farming essences is my currency maker in standard. Farm Haewark maps with essences skills filled. Hard to sell gear, as in standard everyone already loaded, but the essences go fast and keeps my chaos currency constantly flowing. I don't need to bother with chaos recipe anymore. Playing standard maps farming essences , and selling rare gear for alteration orbs (3.5 to 1c), has been best way to go for me, by far.

Thanks for a great info update for this league stuff is nuts but bridging the currnecy gap between my sorta ok al3 t14 gear to al8 t16 gear is rpugh now cause good crafts are extreemly expensive even with the gaurentee. Im 100% gping to have to use an empower boosted bow now i dont get to be lazy lol

I think the reason why you can't downgrade essences by vendoring is because you could turn a single deafening essence into 243 whispering essences which you could then use as "budget" alchs (e.g. to spam a stash tab full of jewelry for crafting or chaos recipe). Not saying that it's necessarily worth doing that, but that's probably the reasoning from GGG.

Anyone tried selling a deafening with a scour or a regret to see if it downgrades? Cant atm no working computer :/

important to note is that you can roll mods on items that you could't roll normally. for example i was using the cast speed essence (scorn?) on foils to make caster weapons with crit multi implicit (that was very strong when you could multimod the rest of the mods, but i believe there still can be uses of it).

Now this is exactly the video that was needed. Side note, but its wild remembering when these first came out and they were hard to fight even as a leveling character. Really shows you how much player power has grown.

I don't really get usefulness of essences. I get that it's lightly better odds of getting a useful roll then an alchemy orb or chaos but the significant majority of the time it'll not be useful to sell. Yellows in my experience never sells. I've tried to keep yellows in multiple tabs of 10c, 5c, 3c, 2c, and out of hundreds of items i put in my tabs that actually look like it has good stats and may be worth something by looking up the good stats using the awakening poe trade tool, I've only sold maybe 30c total. I've made way more money just from currency drops and the chaos recipe, I've actually found 2 exalts so far and have made about 200c just in chaos recipes but selling stuff from other players i don't think i've made more then 30c, i just never find anything worth selling and find it's a waste of time trying to research each item to see what may be worth a couple choas orbs, I don't get it, why try to roll items with essences then doing all work looking it up to see if it was worth it when i could likely sell essences for more money, i could find a couple choas orbs wort of stuff in same amount of time just mapping in time would take me to try and look up items only to see they are worthless. i feel like trying to sell yellows isn't even worth my time and chance of finding something myself or crafting myself for my own character has little to no chance, i have a better chance at winning the powerball lottery then finding something myself i can use mid-maps and later. I always find only way to keep progressing once i'm mid-way through maps is by finally giving up and buying from other players or else i can never progress. I've yet in any league to kill all the bosses in a league, i just can't progress like streamers do making it look easy. I'm still only unlocked 10 watchstones so far, have about 75 map bonus completion and into yellow maps and yet i been playing every day since day 1 and still on the zizaran popcorn srs starter build. It's just incredibly discouraging to me the way loot progression works in this game and totally sucks we don't have a good way of acquiring items anymore like we did when harvest launched, the harvest league was my most successful league ever, i actually had a good chance at making upgrades for myself.

Using essences on a low level item to get modifiers you want at a higher rate is cool, but also really stupid in the grand scheme of ARPG's
