It'd be interesting to see faction spotlights where you could give a general and in depth run down on lore and philosophy while also hitting on designs for armor, weaponry and remotes and the philosophy behind them. One of my favorite things about this game is how even though most factions use the same weaponry they are all designed so different.

Great video, love the little jokes thrown in. 2min history lesson Ludwig Feuerbach.....the Feuerbach in infinity shoots fireballs. 😂

My favourite weapon is the colt used by wild Bill. I love that even though it's dubbed as a multi pistol, he's actually just trick shooting lol

The Mowang in your Red Fury intro is holding a Multi Rifle. Not a big deal, just kind of funny. Also, you should have covered the origins of the chain rifle. It's hilarious and cool. But especially hilarious.

I didn't know everything was caseless ammo. I always thought that was a hole in the fluff, but it turns out I just missed it.

It's interesting that the SMG is really more a PDW by modern nomenclature, given that SMGs today usually mean a select fire weapon firing rounds originally made for pistols. Then again the HMG doesn't really seem to actually be all that "heavy" by modern standards other than firing a big calibre....

Hey! Freaking love this video, great information for new and veteran players alike! Strange question but we're planning to do an episode on Infinity weapons in the future and wonder if it would be possible if you could send us screenshots of the weapons you used in this video please? It would save us a heap of leg work if you already have the screens? :) Looking forward to watching more of your content! Kev

I do love adhesive launchers whenever they show up, whether it's the old Star Wars d6 game, the new Prey game or indeed, Infinity. I'll admit I don't entirely get the chainrifle, why specifically use chains as ammo? Easier to carry around undetected I suppose but you have to figure authorities would get wise to the correct 'calibre' of chain being bought up.
@Hydros92
@Hydros92 Год назад
I know it's been at least a year since you left this comment, however I wanted to reply to your thoughts on the chain rifle. It's likely the idea came from the age of sail practice of loading chain shot, which was originally just chains, then later two cannonballs connected by a chain to take down enemy masts, like a really big, angry bola. Given that, I suspect the chain rifle likely fires some form of bola rather than just the chain, because if it's just a chain, you've made a worse shotgun, and with bola ammo you've essentially given the user a cone in front of them where they are almost guaranteed to hit, which checking the weapon profile just now, it's a large teardrop template weapon
@myzimensi
@myzimensi Год назад
@@Hydros92 I think I remember the fluff saying that the chain links were superheated, molten and fired out like a shotgun. But I'll admit the idea of a bola launcher is really cool.

My greatest issue with Infinity weapons is not the weapons themselves (all of which look awesome), but that there is a lot that is not clearly said about them. Human weapons are not that dissimilar from our own modern weapons (though they are far more advanced) so we can imagine how they work, operate, how their ammunition looks and how it behaves. But this is completely lost on the Alien weapons, which somehow appear to be no different from Human weapons, aside from aesthetics. That is, A Human shotgun has the same operational parameters as a Morat, a Shavastii and a Tohaa shotgun. Outside of some snippets here and there, these weapons might as well be the same and for me that has always been dissapointment from Infinity. Contrast this with 40K or Warmachine, and you can see the difference. In Warmachine and 40K, every weapon has a small blurb that explains how the weapon operates and how its supposed to do its job. Without knowing that a Bolter fires a .75 caliber rocket propelled, armor piercing explosive round, it is nowhere near as awesome as it would be. And in 40K every weapon has its little time to showcase its uniqueness. Meanwhile in Infinity they are just copy/paste weapons, with only aesthetic differences and that is contrasted with all the detail that goes into gear and unit descriptions. A very big missed opportunity by Corvus-Belli, which they have never been able to or willing to fully correct.

A CA shotgun is probably called a djfhdns in their culture and probably works off a different set of internal mechanics. We call it a shotgun and give it the same stats because the end effect is close to that of a human shotgun. Even with d20s instead of the vastly inferior d6s there isnt room to differentiate every single weapon variety for every single faction.
@Keemperor40K
@Keemperor40K 2 года назад
@@gman1515 maybe they are different, but there is no way to know, because Corvus-Belli has given almost no details on how Alien weapons are different from Human ones. Imagine saying that an Ork is shooting an Assault Rifle and the Space Marine is shooting an assault and the Eldar shooting an assault rifle or the Tyranid shooting an assault rifle. Yes, all the four units are unique, but you wouldn't know that the Ork weapons is a ramshackle heap that shouldn't work, that the Space Marine weapon is a brutal .75 caliber ap exp mini rpg launcher, that the Eldar weapon fires monomolecular shuriken disks through a high speed gravitic launcher, or that the Tyranid gun is a living bio organism that launches burrowing beetles with horrible results. Notice how all those differences make each race more unique and more alive, precisely for those definitions, even if the guns behave in a similar manner. Infinity has completely missed out on this opportunity and the Tohaa and the EI forces might as well be using human weapons for all we know, since details about the weapons ammunition, firing modes and behavior are completely missing.
@gman1515
@gman1515 2 года назад
Look at the weapons in kill team. Look how few of them there are and how Similar they all are. Come back and keep complaining. The sheer variety of weapon options in infinity is huge. Even if the same weapon profiles are applied over most of the factions a lot of them get small tweaks unique to their faction or even nigh entirely faction specific weapons like CA plasma.
@gman1515
@gman1515 2 года назад
@@Keemperor40K also infinity is just a more grounded fiction than 40k. Everyone uses similar gun rules because all guns work similarly. It doesn't make much difference if you shoot an ar/15 or a mini 14 when the round has the same effect on target.
@Keemperor40K
@Keemperor40K 2 года назад
@@gman1515 the issue is not variety, but information on the details of weapons. 40K has been extensively detailing the armory of each faction, with details on operation, ammunition, terminal effects and how it relates to each factions unique approach for decades and continues to expand on each. Infinity has had almost no details on what makes each factions weapons unique or different from each other's and hardly if at all comments on this one detail. From a lore and a gaming standpoint a CA, a Tohaa, an Ariadna and a Panoceania rifle, might as well be the same weapon, as there is no known lore details on the difference of each weapon and game wise they share the exact same stats. Meanwhile, other games showcase each factions uniqueness even into the weapons details, 40K is the poster boy. Also using only Kill Team and not acknowledging the rest of 40K weapons details is a denial of the vast lore on weaponry that GW has taken great care to detail over the decades. No Infinity weapon can match the coolness factor of the .75 cal, AP, explosive, mini RPG launcher that is the Bolter, because no weapon in Infinity has been described in the detail needed to be as iconic or has the description to match.
