“Bakunin is filled with Christians, Anarchists, Scientists, Free-Thinkers, Criminals, Dissidents, Freaks and Edge-Lords.” Holy shit it’s 4Chan in space
Absolutely love stuff like this. YT needs more infinity content. A thing to note with JSA is while our Alphastrikes can be devastating if set up right alot of what we do tends to be playing around an a oppent instead of directly opposing them. Cheap HI like Tankos can be great fillers and will lead your eye towards samurai FTs but we also excel at setting up midfield defenses and clogging key pieces down with infiltrating ninjas. The Avatar may be scary but if you happen to get a ninja into cc with it and leave the ninja their thats over 100 points of a model that basically can't do anything on its own anymore.
Yea, basically, I see myself spending a lot of money- buying random models I want to paint with the idea of having them in a factional army, but then end up just playing mercs. XD
I’m brand new to this game. As in I’ve never heard of it until today. Been bouncing around to several mini game channels getting a larger look at other miniature war games other than Warhammer 40k and Star Wars Legion. Kudos on your painting skills. And all the models in this game are 2nd to none!!
There’s no game that looks like infinity! There are lots of third party companies making Warhammer-looking models; the gorgeous quality of Infinity models is seemingly irreplaceable.
Really good video, it gives you a taste of all those armies without delving too much into detail. I've particularly appreciated the advices on the collecting part ("buy this box"), it should be helpful for the rookies. Now I'd like very much to see another video on the discontinued armies: they are harder to collect, but one of the biggest features of the game is the fact that they can still be played and are updated in the army builder as well.
so to help new players, I explain my thought process to pick my army I started to play a bit back, and well, I had 3 choices to pick between, technically 5, so these were, JSA stunning sculpts, Nomads Tunguska Starmada and lastly Rahmana task force or invincible army I picked between secotrials to benefit from a streamlined experience rather than all at once but faction plays into it. JSA is mostly straightforward lore-wise and has a lot of small interesting snippets and allow for good colour choices, and their playstyle while not new player friendly isn't necessarily unplayable by a new player, it most an aggression curve that you have to learn, issues come in price, its a big box, lots of models but if you ain't 100% sold its a big investment to try out. Starmada was unveiled as I was starting to look for an army, the lore is cool, the painting is the right colours but challenges to do, and they have a great and affordable start box, the issue was at the time accessibility and the 0-12 faction feeling a bit bare bone at its realise compared to the competition and that their units go form easy to paint to, I idk if I can do that. Rahmana task force is a nice sectorial with what I like with haqqislam with some small negatives that I cant run hassasins or get the same stuff as the discontinued sectorial, why it lost and is on technically is that haqqislam itself could have been my starting army if not for the lack of a good start, and lack of a clear cut sectorial that isn't hassasins, it also has a lot more skin. so if haqqislam makes a box for a sectorial later I may look into it. The invincible army issue mostly was the constant reminder of china and the fact that I kinda already play similar armies in other games. Tunguska is all the aesthetics and lore I like in nomads with the greatest concentration of units I like and with some cool stuff, this one won the 5 faction fight, as it had a good start kit, easy to pain mostly and nice options later. like adding Nomads pure if I want. so I picked based on Availablity and price but many of the previous factions aren't off the table until then, look out for my Grenzer as I take what is rightfully the property of Tunguska sectorial command.
late but here have been my experiences with a few of the armies. I started with Nomads because I loved the backstory and aesthetic. You pay a lot for gunfighters, but your specialists do the job. Most of their units are single wound models, so that was something that made me try Yu Jing. Yu Jing is very flexible, but your specialists are costly, so you need to win with overwhelming force to open up for your specialists. I moved on to Aleph next with their slight more forgiving multi-wound models. Even basic units take quite a bit of punishment, and they get the job done well, but are often outnumbered, and do not have a lot of midfield presence. Haqqislam showed me success when I use my irregular troops to commit and harass the enemy. Piece trading is the name of the game, where a camoflaged cheap infantry with a missile launcher (daylami) can ruin just about anyone's day. I have also tried Druze and O-12. But as the video said, Druze live or die by their Druze shock teams, mixed with their brawlers, and O-12 needs to be surgical with their units to stay in their lane. Given the chance, I will try all of these armies again, but I will stick to Aleph for now, especially with the new Steel Phalanx/Hassassin Starter coming up.
This is an absolutely awesome introductory video , my husband and me are just getting into the game and I can’t wait to show him this video as the information really helps when choosing and know the general flavor and tactics of each faction, personally for me I think I’m going with Nomads as the first faction I play and learn about and my hubby is going the combined army. Can’t wait to start playing 😊
I just found out about this game recently (06.04.22) and i have found that Ariadna, panOceania and Nomads all fit my playstyle when it comes to armies so operation crimson stone is a good starter for me as i get 2 of the armies i wanna test out the most as a new player, and this video is amazing in helping me find the army that fits me the most
I'm dumping warhammer and looking into other things I can play. I got into warmachine last year but saw these guys around and was curious. Earlier I got introduced and am contemplating playing. I saw some cute robots associated with the the nomads and am leaning towards that.
Starting to get interested into Infinity and this has helped me so much to have an overview of the factions! Plus I approve of those music choices from Endless Space 2 and Brigador ;)
Oh man, I have such a hard time making a definitive choice on which faction to play. So, of course, before knowing what any of them are good at, I bought the Haqqislam action pack, some Kazak Spetsnaz, Highlander Rifles (because Freedoooooom), some Corregidor Bandits, a Hardcase and Airborne Ranger, some Ohio Minutemen and a Monstrucker. ...yes, I have lost pretty much every game so far, what's with the questions?! I really want to bite down and actually "master" one of these factions, but there is SO much to keep in mind! Thank you for making this video, now I can at least try to focus on of the army's strengths!
12:54 "You can also use the Maghariba Guard as a physical threat" Yeah, to the opposing player! Last I checked the Maghariba is the bulkiest model in the game.
The word of the prophet states; “should the foe seek, even in the face of utter defeat, to resist needlessly, set forth the Maghariba Guard upon them with a swift motion of the hand.”
Just bought my first Infinity mini, a Combined Army officer. What amazing quality! I may or may not learn to play the game, yet I'm certain to buy more of these gems.
very cool. I watched the bits for the armies I play, good stuff esp since each section was short. You should do a video for the discontinued armies. a lot of them still get played and CB is very lenient with proxy so it would totally be fine to pick up models to represent them.
I'll get it done : ) But I still maintain that people should be trying to buy new models if possible; You support the game and also they're much nicer miniatures! :D
Love this infinity content. Hoping it gets back into fashion as all the content is basically two years old. Nevertheless great video that reflects how diverse all the army's are. Says pano, yu Jin and JSA player😂😂
Really useful video. The Infinity universe is very overwhelming! Difficult to settle on a faction as a new player because there are so many awesome models. I just preordered Blackwind so I’ll have to pick one of those
Good vid. But the name confused me. Thought it would be more of a quick tactics/strategy/best units kind of thing. But it's more of a new player faction introduction.
Yeah cool, i already have the Kaldstrom + some booster, and Crimson stone box. And now, thanks to you, i also want all the other faction because they are all cool in their own way... :/
Hello I'm new to infinity. This video was very helpful and accessible. One thing I'm curious about are out of print models. Does this happen often with infinity minis? Do they replace them with updated ones or are whole units just taken out of the game?
That's quite informative. Kinda sad, that CHA is inactive now, cause i wanted to jump into Infinity as CHA, but i think it's a bit hard nowadays. Btw, where do i get those tables with units like from White Company and O-12 sections? It would be really helpful to look into those and see what units looks like.
Love this video. It would be cool to see a series of it that deep dived a little more into the factions. Instead of "Invincible army is great at bringing power armor" And the whole thing being done in 1 minute. Expanding it into a 5-10 minute per faction. As it is, its not really a "how to win" its a "quick overview"
One thing to add about Yu Jing is while there great at everything outside of heavy infantry they often only have one or two options most rolls (but those options are very good)
my friend got me to play with him and i picked up combined army because of your video. he suprised me with all the models from defiance and a shasvastii action pack so now im kinda relegated to shasvastii for a bit but i have no idea where to start lol. thiis game is so hard
you basically have 100% of all the shas you could ever need. You're good to go lol if you really want, you can buy the Sphinx if you get into the game and want giant robots but you should really get into playing the game now! you have more than you need. check out this vid to get started : ) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HRgEjT7-TdI.html
Thanks for the video, some friends online reminded me this game existed and linked me here for an intro. PanO, Yu Jing and Nomads all interested me, but the White Company sold me on picking up a Kaldstrom box before they cycle out!
@@WarLore mostly deciding between starting with Yu Jing Vanilla or IA, Tunguska, or Hassassins. Now also have Ramah, O12, Aleph, and Shasvasti on my mind. I did *just* find a copy of operation kaldstrom in stock locally, so may go that way.
@@runcmd1419 if you’re really stuck, I will say that Yu Jing can kind of do it all! They were my first for a reason, I want to play with every mechanic
@@WarLore I think that’s a good idea. They also have the most well rounded mini range for my taste. Nomads have very cool pieces but some of the more anime elements are a miss for me.
Man the models in this game are so cool! After the recent games workshop fiasco and with the recent news that infinity is going to be plastic, I really think I may have found my new plastic crack supplier! I like ariadna a lot but I'm not sure I like not having hackers. I'll probably go for either ariadna or combined army in the end... or maybe some nomad. Damn there are so many cool models!
I will say that most of their models are still going to be in metal... but, they're all REALLY cool :) I totally agree, all the armies are REALLY fun, it's hard to choose just one. As such, I play way too many ;) The only upside is that some of them let you use models from two ranges at once. For example, if you play Haqqislam and yu Jing, you can also use Dashat, for example.
The Ghost in the Shell influence is especially strong in JSA, though. The Ryuken Unit-9 is totally Major Kusanagi and Batou, and the basic Keisotsu include the spitting images of Togusa and Ishikawa. There's Geisha killer bots, too. You also get Akira-style bikes and Celty from Durara...
Ngl if i had enough time and money I will love to play them all, I come from WH40K and its the same xD maybe i'll go for panoceania, military orders and the winterfor, i love the power armor and nights, where can i find those pictures where you show the units of the factions and sectorials?
Those are GREAT choices. It's HARD to say what's good, they're all fucking cool. :D Yeah! I have it pinned in the link :) www.reddit.com/r/InfinityTheGame/comments/ooq9l2/model_identifier_sheets_update_all_sectorials/
This is exactly what I needed man! A couple years ago I brought Red Veil but never found the time to fully dive into Infinity. Now that CodeOne is a thing, I'm wanting to get back in, but neither of the Red Veil factions really capture my imagination. This video helped me seal the deal with O12 instead.
Love the video! I decided to give the game another try with O-12! The models, the cinematic and epic nature of the game, and how wonderful Corvus Belli is has brought me back. I don't know if I've ever seen a spokesperson as enthusiastic about their product as Bostria, I love it so much.
Its about 8 factions but each faction has theme armys so to speak, they are named sectorials, you can play Combined Army which is everything in their rooster or you can play a army thats only Shasvastii, only Morat or Ur-hegemony,the trade of is that some models are only available like 1 or 2 times in vanilla Combined Army but in a sectorial list you can use them like 4 times and also get different fireteams then in the vanilla Combined Army list.
Ss a very new player who has already chosen my faction, this video didn't help me choose mine, but reinforced my choice (Yu Jing / Invincible Army) and gave a great insight into all the other factions.
Great video! For newer players always suggest play vanilla for a facition you think is cool. Play and proxy with minis. Once you like a certain play style then move to sectorials
I’m starting my journey with Infinity gaming. Already have quite a bit models for PanO (not many painted yet though) and fully painted Spiral Corps Army pack plus some Igaos. Well Spiral is really intimidating with all those special traits…But still really cool. Now I’m thinking about purchasing Haqqislam part of Blackwing box as these models are so cool and I like fluff behind Haqqislam also.
Yeah I picked up the spiral corp box to play against a friend who was getting into infinity. Good to know that the reason I find them unplayably complicated is because they're super complicated and not really for new players.
This video is great! I bought crimson stone + beyond thinking to start with nomads but am getting absolutely hammered every week so thinking of moving to Yu Jing as they seem a little more beginner friendly...
I actually quit playing infinity a few years ago. I'm trying to come back to it because I did like it. However, I had no one to play with, so I felt it was time to stop. What's the best video for the newest rules? Thank you. 👍🏼
Hey man! Great question. Are your specifically interested in the rules? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k49Gpd6M0g4.html This video goes over it. Also mentioned that there's a lot of TTS players.
Since i can't afford an army or space to play, i mostly pick upon the model/miniature design; i think i will either pick Nomads or Irregular. I only have collected and painted the Lizard Pilot, O-Yoroi Pilot, Hassasin Fidday (boarding shotgun) and the Anaconda TAG squad. It's all over the place as you can see but at least i am happy to have the models i want.
They appear to be the sheets created by 'burlesford' named 'Model Range Identifier Sheets' and posted to a couple of different places. Can't share a link but you should find them by searching.
@@WarLore I will be playing a demo game next sunday! I am leaning towards Yu Jing due to it being easier for newcomers. I also just like Ariadna go getter attitude.
I feel like leaving the inclusion of Ariadna dog-faces/ dog- warriors to just an image was a missed opportunity. "This faction has space werewolves, that may be enough to get people to at least try it out even though it has some difficult rules to play around." :P
Thank you for this content. My mind eagerly absorbs all this useful insight, while my wallet cries out in terror. I have some PanO, Nomads and a most of 0-12, and this content is tempting me to get even more. There is something good and appealing to each faction, which makes choosing difficult for new players. The good news is that each faction is effective once you learn how to use it, there are no duds. My advise is to pick a faction with the look you like and playstyle you prefer and jump in.
Nicely explanation for all the fractions and how they are to play. I'm relativ new in the game, but I learned already that Yu Jing is really solid and forgiving in the game play. So you can really try out things without direct loosing the game. JSA is more the total offense army, without fine tactics. It's more like forget the targets and kill all.
This is interesting to me. I play 40k, admech, knights, imperial fist marines, and bloody rose sisters. So. I'm guessing I should look at the pan oceanic folks?
Im currently reading de Modiphius tabletop roleplaying game for Infinity and I must say that if I would play the miniature game, I would start with Pana... just because I love them in the story or 0-12
The Bakunin Observance release going on is what's finally making me make the jump into Infinity, but now that I'm looking at it, I think Haqqislam might be my army of choice, with the others as collections. Idk, things will be decided, and by my wallet lol
Noob question, as I just found out about this game system recently. Quite a few of the factions you're talking about here are discontinued/out of print. Is there some sort of plan to either update or rerelease these models?
Actually, some of them have already been re-released. Steel Phalanx that is. Many of the factions are in print in different ways. All of the ones I described you can get, even if the boxes aren't labeled as such.
@@WarLore lets say a faction/subfaction is out of production, can you still use those miniatures in battle? Do old(ish) out of print miniatures get rules-updates? I'm coming from Warhammer 40K and I can use miniatures from the 1990s in modern day Warhammer 40K tournaments. Is this possible with Infinity? I know that Infinity is from 2006, so it is slightly more recent then 40K but still nearly a 15+ year old system.
I also just found this game. I’m blown away on how many factions/armies there are! And as I’m watching this video it seems like each group of models is better than the last 😮I’m absolutely blown away and don’t even know what this game is all about. It’s awesomeness is almost overwhelming
