here's a few tips you can try drink lots of water. eat watermelon - this can prevent kidney disease naturally. try taking vitamin A and drink organge juice - these can cure kidney disease naturally. cut down on meat, asparagus, spinach and fizzy drinks. (I discovered these and the reasons they work on Jaylands Kidney Kit website )
If you get a kidney stone a lot of drinking can add to the problem - if a stone is big enough so that it gets stuck in the tubes from the kidney to the bladder - that will let the urine 'pool' in the affected kidney, and thus add to the pain because of swelling... in some this pain in one kidney is what will help diagnose the problem....

He needs to switch to water. Drinking too much soda makes it likely that you will get diabetes. I've been passing kidney stones since I was 7 years old. (Over 30 times.) Getting in the habit of sipping water frequently all through the day (And even when you wake up to use the bathroom.) helps a lot. I noticed that if I'm not drinking water often enough my stones will be about the size of grapes. But if I'm drinking water often my stones will be the size of M&Ms. An M&M size stone passes much more easily. A grape size stone is slower & more painful. The largest one I ever had was the size of a golf ball. I wouldn't drink too much water though, because too much water can kill you. I've always heard that you should drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Faux Fuck God if he exists, he let me suffer thru it. But thanks all the same. It really sucked. But it does give me a reason to have a healthy diet and stay hydrated.
Had one this year, thought I was dying. One of the most painful things I've ever endured, and it wasn't even that big. Felt like my organs were trying to beat up my lower spine. Luckily it broke up on it's own, and I got some morphine to deal with the pain.
Had one a few years back as well. I been pretty lucky to be healthy so I don't have much to compare the pain of passing a kidney stone too, but the sharp pain of the movement were so intense they were causing me to vomit pass the point of anything left to expel. Terrible feeling felt like was going to die.
The Ace Of Spades I never felt mine once it got to the point of passing them, but I was lucky. It was while still in the urinary tract that the majority of the pain was felt.
i have had 4 kidney stone attacks, and everything she said about pain is absolutely true. i eat healthy drink almost 3 ltr of water a day and i still get them, my grandparents didnt leave me anything in their will, but gave me this instead. thanks granps.
Thought I was gana die even ask to die to avoid the pain I was feeling. Never felt nothing like it and wish not to repeat tht nightmare... and yep I drink water so often and still end up having them
I was rushed into hospital in an ambulance yesterday because I have a kidney stone. It was misdiagnosed first as a kidney infection but apparently not. It is single handedly the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life.
Got a Double J Stent on 12th this month 'cause of a 4mm stone, and I tell you: it sucks like hell!!!!! The pain is compareable with a heart attack or if you have a pulmonary edema. It can lead to panic attacks and real mortal agony. You are so helpless with this kind of pain that I do not wish even my worst enemy.
I've had both kidney stones and stones in my gall bladder - the kidney stone I peed out, but I had to have my gallbladder removed to get rid of the ones I had there ( 2 stones about half an inch each - i got to take them home ;) ) and as a woman who have tried both AND childbirth I say YES - gall and kidney stones hurt more than childbirth without help... The reason is more that the pain of childbirth comes in waves, on and off, and you know that when it starts it will stop soon, and you know that when the baby's out the pain stops... with gall and kidney stones the pain is similar ( passing a huge thing through a tiny hole) but the pain is constant!!! It can flare up or down, but there are NO breaks, and the only reprieve is through medication... and those don't work 100%... I had my kidney stone for a week, while at the hospital - and when my gall stone hit I was home for 2 days, and then 5 days in the hospital before they could remove it... I would ANY DAY go though a 9 month pregnancy and a 3 day laybour before having a stone anywhere again...
Yes-- it's "crescendo-decrescendo pain" as opposed to the "wave" pain of childbirth. It gets fucking terrible and constant before finally easing back down.
Plus some people respond to the pain with lots and lots of vomiting (ala, me) D= I'm not sure if women can get that same reaction in the middle of birthing (obviously some women get morning sickness while carrying and stuff), but mine was so bad, I couldn't keep anything (including pain and nausea meds..) down...I had to make *another* trip to the hospital because of this, and now I'm in loads of debt. Long story short, I will be getting suppositories next time it happens.
ActionAlligator Yup. The body knows something is wrong and vomiting is frequently the homeostasis solution for it. My last one, just over a year ago, I had a 3/4 inch jagged Krusty-o that left me hurling non-stop. My doctor was nice enough to give me second dose of morphine. That stuff doesn't get you high when you're in that much pain. Strange to think that a dose that might OD a horse was just enough to balance me out.
Harpo Django Rose lol, oh yeah, I think I just needed one morphine dose, the relief was so overpowering I cried like a little girl and took a nap (after ~8+ hours of vomiting and being in pain), felt like the world was perfect for a while
I don't wish kidney stones on anyone. I live in a constant fear that one day I'll have to go through that pain again. I now am so conscious of all my water consumption.
Tbh you can actually ask for it in my place. For multitude of reasons it's actually pretty practical to keep track of sizes for people with recurring formations
This really makes me scared, I don’t drink a lot of water. And today I am feeling some sharp pain on the side of my body. And i was warned that this would happen if I didn’t drink water.
last year when i was 15 i had to pass a kidney stone, most painful thing i've experienced. I had to wait at my home alone for 2 hours while my mom got me medicine. It's so painful you throw up in pain, i have no idea how people managed to survive kidney stones without the medication we have today
I'm 39 and I've been in the hospital 5 times in 6 weeks over kidney stones. It's worse then you can imagine! It's like a screwdriver stabbed into your back and side.
I had a kidney stone in 2014, I woke up at 5 am with probably the worst stomach pain I've ever felt in my life. I could barely stand up right. Woke up my mom and we drove to the hospital emergency room where I was kept under inspection for four hours. I was given water and it was confirmed through ultrasound that I had a kidney stone which was the cause of the pain. Luckily, some hours later, I started feeling better, though slightly painful but felt good enough to go home again. Today, I feel totally fine and I've heard that kidney stones can dissolve and I think that's what happened to mine.
I'm in my 50s, and have had 5-6. The pain is instantly recognizable. There's no position to comfort one while your body is trying to get rid of it. 3 times it was a trip to the ER, and the others while I was already hospitalized for something unrelated. All I know was that as soon as I told them my history, they gave me something called "Flowmaxx". I think it set them free, but I'm no Dr. The nurses all felt bad, because they knew how giving birth felt, and they knew the two were 'Big Pain'. 9+
I had kidney stones in October of 2014 and the pain in the lower side of my abdomen was absolutely excruciating.. I ended up on the floor of the waiting room at a local urgent care... but the doctor ended up giving me a shit ton of morphine so after that I didn't feel anything.. and they also gave me a couple weeks worth of Percocet so that made things kind of bearable but I still hope I never have to go through it ever again
Thank you for the insightful video. Just started suffering from one about 3 weeks ago yet to pass. Admittedly I don't drink enough water which was a big lesson learned. I've had spine surgery, hip surgery, been involved in car accidents, motorcycle accidents, lacerations, broken bones, and the list goes on and this is easily the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Complete nausea, vomiting, clutching at my side, sweating, and the initial attack was a ride in an ambulance with lots of morphine. I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy. STAY HYDRATED
Chris Fowler I've had two children and can say, passing a Kidney stone is far worse. My stone happened to be to large 7mm and just had it surgically removed on May 11, 2018. My urologist placed a stent in, that will be removed on May 23rd. And, honestly speaking, I think the stent hurts even more. Pains meds have helped little. Hopefully, your experience will be better than mine.
Had a kidney stone 2 years ago. I heard and tried the potato and pineapple smoothie remedy. Peel the pineapple and throw in some potatoes with the skin on do not peel. ( I tried the brown one not the red potatoes) I drank 3 cups a day followed with water for 3 days. I passed mine with no pain at all. Yes it taste disgusting. Now the stone traveling down from the kidney to the urethra that was painful part.
I had a small one. It is like that pain hat hurts just enough for you to be so irritated and then goes up to a lot then goes back down. Its the perfect torture.
Holy smokes so painful 4mm going through it now trying to pass it now, comes in waves..... I feel it moving, traveling down nauseous and the most pain I have ever encountered worse than childbirth 😔😖😩😭
I had chronic kidney stones, so the Doctors said drink more water of course and I did ,except I had well water and the dissolved minerals in the well water just made it a lot worse. I ended up setting a record of passing over 60 stones in a single night. True story. Needles to say I moved.
I moved from North Carolina where the water is for shit. Its full of dissolved minerals, arsenic and sulfur. The water is rotten there. Now I have city water in Georgia. The stone problem has pretty much gone away except a few times a year if that.
As im watching this im passing a kidney stone, it began yesterday at about 5 am and ive already passed 6 of them no joke. I have never in my life felt something this painful and they tild me its becuase i eat too much protein. I eat healthy and drink nothing but water yet still managed ti have these. I do not know how much I will end up having but since yesterday I have passed 6. I have broken bones and been jumped and nothing cimes close to this. They said it's similar to the pain of child birth
Everything I already know about kidney stones- I don't want to ever have one again! Man, ever since the first time I had kidney stones I've been extremely hyper vigilant to any pain in my mid to low back. It's just that bad.
AFAIK, the whole "soda dehydrates you" info bit is a myth. Sugar and carbonation combined reduce hydration, but not enough to dehydrate you. I could be wrong. I know for a fact that carbonated water and coffee do *not* dehydrate you, though.
Tolyngee No, you said it does the opposite of hydration, which is dehydration...I know for a fact I'm right about carbonated water and coffee, but soda I'm not entirely sure about: www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/07315724.2000.10718956 www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/07315724.2003.10719290?scroll=top&needAccess=true This is all I could find, and both seem to suggest hydration was about the same. Also, this guy says soda *can* be hydrating www.webmd.com/parenting/features/healthy-beverages
James Russell Yeah, I think it's a combination of hydration, diet, and genetics =P So, one or more of those is probably the cause of yours. I've had about 2 stones as well within the past few years; unfortunately, I have no idea what caused them because a) I wasn't able to catch the stones, b) I don't get thirsty much and so I don't stay hydrated, c) I have a shit diet, and d) my dad had problems with stones as well, although his was from drinking lots of milk, and yet I can't stand milk. So I'd have to do a lot of trial and error to figure mine out (starting with hydration). Woe is me.
I had a kidney stone lodge in my ureter valve on my right side. The kidney backed up and the pressure became so great that the kidney started leaking through the tissues. The pain knocked me out cold.
I'm not trying to cause issues here, but... when I read the report online didn't they mention it wasn't all Rollercoasters that worked? The researchers went to Disneyland and ran their experiment on all the rollercoasters in the park. Only by sitting in the back of the "Big Thunder Mountain" ride, did it work. All of the more intense rollercoasters prevented the stones from passing. You won't be able to use just any random rollercoaster to help pass your stones...
as someone who has given birth to a large baby and a large kidney stone (baby was 9 lbs, stone was slightly larger than a golf ball) I can honestly say that both are horrible. the only thing that makes the kidney stone worse is that you don't have anything cute to cuddle when you are done.
These things are very painful I am praying that I pass mine all I will change my diet too.I heard drinking apple cider vinegar helps is this true ? Please help thanks
Thats why I'm here. Just pulled-out a stone the size of a grain of rice from the tip of my shaft. it was damn painful as it travelled out slowly for days in my urethra. :) oh lordy lordy.
I had one of these this year. Must say it was the biggest pain of my life even though im just 14 years old. It took about 3 weeks to come out. After that I haven't had one and hopefully wont have one later on. :p
Have you had a stone since? Please give us an update. I'm so curious because unfortunately once you get a kidney stone, your more than likely to have them the rest of your life.
It's 4am. I'm in agony with one of these. It's right up there with the worst imaginable toothache and there's nothing I can do about it but wait for the Tramadol to kick in.
Ive got a golf ball size kidney stone rt now! I got delirious, hallucinating & had been hurting so bad for so long i even told many plus my Dr even my skin & hair hurt,& i was so sick,so nauseated... it pissed me off just to think of taking another breath...passing out would b my blessing to the ER then being treated a-4 this monster kidney stone & b-being treated 4 blood poisoning/ sepsis! Happy Valentines Day 2 me! No 4real...i have a new leash on life(had 2 babies natrual childbirth...mean no meds,shots,epidural..we didnt want drugs n our babies...by far,...KIDNEY STONES R A MILLION TIMES WORSE PAIN UP & DOWN THAN BABIES,THIS NON STOP GOT TO GET BETTER TO DIE PAIN! OH,might i add i'm outof the hospital, just got scheduled for surgery the 13th ...their going in to chip away my kidneystone(golf ball size)which is lodged in my (sorry dont know his terms for where) ,surgen just said may even have to have a 2nd surgery to get it all out. My Dr(was going 1 time a week at 1 point due to my b-12 being so low,nxt my potassium plummeted.. @ the hospital my magnesium too
Just got home from a night at the ER. CT scan showing that i had two small kidney stones. The most painful thing i'v ever felt. Thank god for morphine!
I had gallstones and I'm only 23, it was horrible, literally happened out of nowhere, gave it a week and it wouldn't subside, so I went to the hospital and they told me it was stones in my gallbladder, had my gallbladder removed and now I feel amazing!!
I learned this a while ago (aside from the shapes and sizes 0_o) and its literally why I drink water all the time. would I choose death over kidney stones? hmmm yea
I'm 35 and I've already had five kidney stones. first one was when I was 24 and the docs say that there's still one in my body that's sitting in a doldrum they can't get rid of until it starts to pass which could be at any moment. kidney stones are horrible and very excruciating. I always know when one is trying to pass because it starts as a dull ache in your nuts and it gradually increase until the pain comes and goes in waves that stretch from your boys all the way up your abs and back to your spine and sides. there is no position, sitting standing or laying down to make the pain stop until you get to a doctor. then you get some groovy meds and everything's great;)
I think I may have when I was a little kid. I remember having symptoms as your described and I didn't tell anyone because I was stupid. Then it got better after a while and was never an issue again.
I have passed 23 Kidney Stones over the next 12 years. When I was 21 I had a Kidney failure lasted about 18 hrs, then 6 months later had a Kidney infection. Next, about a year later I started have a Kidney Stones every 6 month so......
I have never passed a stone that I am aware of. I have had surgery twice, each time for very large stones; 5 cm and 1.1 cm. I am very hopeful, after my most recent surgery, that the medical lab will be able to determine what is causing the stones and, more importantly, what I must do to prevent stones in the future. Note: I drink 96 oz of water a day or more.
Yes, stones are more painful than labor pains!! I have reoccurring stones...the latest one of which is happening now. I know mine were caused by excess chocolate intake....(sigh)
I am going through it right now...8 days to be exact. Hopefully this sucker pass out soon..😭. Got twins ...3mm. Lots of water from now on and a change of diet. No more of this ...I don't want it
So I’m 17 I got my first kidney stones on Saturday October 6, 2017 it’s hurts bad soo.....they have not passed yet if I’m not drugged up of my medications it hurts so let me tell tell you how I felt soo I was happy for weeeks before the big one hit I just thought it was back pain not to worry about then that morning at 5 am I was in pain my whole left kidney as well as my body got this bad feeling have you ever walked in side of your hip on the kitchen counter with so much force it’s a sharp pain The morphine didn’t even help I got four doses of that until I started feeling better then next day the pain comes back I have to get surgery (might) i’m going to see a kidney specialist very soon ,the doctor the hospital said I have a huge kidney stone to my grandmother 👵🏼
Just curious, is there any case of a human being having more than the three color cone receptors in their eyes? Maybe some gene mutation that was classified as dis-functional but they hadn't discovered that kinda light so they simply declared it not useful. Just a completely random thought. Actionable?
I passed a kidney stone today. I was in so much pain in the morning so I drank a glass of water with baking soda and went back to bed. About 3 hours later got up took a shower and there is was a freaking stone! I haven’t had pain all day so hopefully is gone completely.
Kidney stones are fun. I get them, on average, one a year. It's a fascinating, crippling pain. "They" say that some people are more susceptible to them. Long story, but I used to have to stay away from eggs, dairy, sodas, etc. I don't anymore. It' s interesting what I've changed, what works, and develop few kidney stones. Or, at least the ones I get now stay with me for about a day. I carry a bottle of liquid with me wherever I go. In other words, I stay hydrated. I don't consume massive amounts of liquid at one time....just moderation. The second thing I do is drink 1/2 cup lemon juice w/ 1/2 cup sugar, mixed with water to make one quart. I'm too lazy to find a bigger container.
