Hope you enjoyed! I’ll ask a huge favor to go check out long time supporter of the channel, Robin’s page and show him some support for his commissions if you can! iamrobin.newgrounds.com/
I wonder how they will handle him in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 because his origin involves a girl getting shot and a space station massacre caused by the military
@@Ronan34753 honestly it'd still be pretty heart wrenching if they took her to earth only for the disease to kick into overdrive, not as dramatic as shooting, but still same result.
@@Noname-gm5om Yeah, but they'll make it so Shadow doesn't know or something. And "GUN is actually a force for good, it was that little girl's fault she got shot" or something like that. I doubt they're going to portray it for what it is.
Molly didn't actually remind Shadow of Maria at all. That's what Rouge assumed, but Shadow had no idea who she was talking about when Rouge brought it up. Molly actually reminded Shadow of himself which was something I found rather fascinating.
They handled him so well in the newest animation Sonic Prime. He’s very mature, goal oriented and works both with and against Sonic depending on the situation.
From what I read from Shiro Maekawa who claims to be the creator of shadow , he originally envisioned shadow to be more of a wish granter that's why his name was originally teriso. Maekawa said he had imagined that if he continued to write for Sonic the Hedgehog, he would give Shadow a story where after granting Maria's wish, he would rest in a capsule once again for a long time until he is woken up hundreds of years later by someone seeking help. Also an interesting fact is Shiro Maekawa was inspired by anime and manga , animes like Please Save My Earth and Ghost in the shell which is probably where he got the idea for shadow might be a replica with fake memories implanted on him.
I always found Shadow deeply hilarious. There’s just something really funny about a hedgehog trying so hard to be hardcore and edgy. It’s endearing and I hope they continue doing weird off the wall things with him.
For the kids of that time, he wasn't funny, he was hardcore. Yes, anyone who wasn't a child at the time thought he was trying to hard, but they wrote him perfectly for kids.
Operation: ARK Seal and Destroy was a bit more horrific considering it took place in the span of a week. That and the fact that someone aboard the ARK leaked the info on Project Shadow to GUN (coupled with the snafu involving the Gizoid and potentially the Artificial Chaos incident)
This video sat in my watch later tab for a while... I wanted to play through Shadow the Hedgehog before watching it and I'd like to share that you inspired me to do so! I finished it this morning and finally got to watch the vid, great work!
Im glad you ended up getting to it! When I made this video, I remember it really sticking with me emotionally for a few days. While Shadow the Hedgehog isn’t my favorite Sonic title it definitely had some decent moments that I got to experience from a different perspective this time around.
There was always one question Sonic Team never addressed though... why did Gerald decide in the end that the form of a hedgehog was the alternate life form? Could say because of Sonic's fame, but I think I have a better answer. So, you remember that Knuckles mentions that the area behind the Biolizard looks like the Master Emerald shrine, and how there are experiments that replicate Chaos from the first Sonic Adventure? Those blue liquidy things with the liquid controlled by these robotic heads that shoots lasers and supposably also manipulates the liquid and makes tentacles come out that are a pain to dodge. Those are called Artificial Chaos. So, Gerald evidently studied the Mystic Ruins or Angel Island at some point, maybe he hasn't been there himself but he at least knew about it. Now, remember the fight in Sonic 3 and Knuckles in the Hidden Palace Zone, that has a mural depicting Super Sonic fighting against Eggman? Knuckles misinterpreted this as Eggman protecting the Master Emerald and saw Sonic as the aggressor. It's possible that Gerald has seen this mural too, and thought "maybe a hedgehog is the ultimate lifeform". Tying back into Sonic Adventure 2's ending, at some point near the end of the final battle while you're both super, if you let the timer run long enough before the final hit, Shadow says "Sonic, I think I discovered who the ultimate life form really is! It might be you!" Now the stuff with Angel Island might just be a coincidence, but I feel like this is all connected, and that mural in Hidden Palace Zone in Sonic & Knuckles could have influenced Shadow's final design as a hedgehog, which would explain why he chose that after the lizard failed.
@@BlueAmpharos he said himself he was barely on there but got a lot of ideas from the sacred land, so I think it's comfirmed/heavily implied the mural theory is real. It's real to me.
Because of the super close release of SA2B for GameCube I just consider the game a mult platform release for Dreamcast and GameCube like Sonic heroes was for GameCube,PS2,and Xbox.
Also a pretty hoit take to just drop that cringe US marketing has anything to do with Shadows popularity, to either direction. Reminds me of the weird inferiority complex people have over corporations, like they mock how out of touch they are but at the same time cry bitter tears over how "marketing" rules everything you do. Sounds like people are just ashamed that they can't actually make decisions without marketing holding their hand, and then regret poor decisions.
God damn, those "Good Hedgehog, Evil Hedgehog" advertisements were rather cursed. I decided to make a YTP about it, amongst a couple other cursed Sonic commercials, right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_CQSHa7K_JY.html
Here I thought Knuckles was always causing Sonic grief way back in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Shadow, however gets him framed by the government and what I fail to understand is how they can't tell the difference between a black hedgehog and a blue one. As for his outright behavior for failing to save Maria, there's nothing he could have done - point blank period. I commend him for doing the right thing in the end, but he's evil and a troublemaker at that. Nobody likes a troublemaker.
i will never understand the hate Shadow the Hedgehog got for its game release i loved it was classic sonic but with a fresh gameplayit did kind have a few gameplay issues at the end but me and my brothers loved playing it
you know what always bothered me about that solder shooting maria? The point that it was UNNECESSARY! Maria already pulled the lever, shooting her wasn't going to UN-PULL the lever! the deed was done, he could have just detained her afterwards.
12:59 I strongly disagree with this statement. The introduction of the Black Comet actually gives us an explanation for why Gerald created the Eclipse Cannon before he went insane. As for conflict and character development, that's the very thing that Shadow got in STH. He ultimately decides that he wants nothing to do with his past at all, Maria and Gerald included.
Same reason people ship any of the sonic characters with him they don’t care about the fictional characters ages or they don’t know their age also the same reason why people ship amy or tails with anyone
@@chasethemaster3440 Yeah they think the whole cast are the same age because they're all the same height and build. Or at least close to it in some cases.
Tbh I wouldn't mind having elements from Shadow's game implemented in Sonic 3, I mean nowadays it's a major part of his story just don't make him an absolute dickhead edge lord like in BOOM
Right, he truly did act like a "dirty evil rat" in Sonic Boom instead of what he should be shown behaving like. I do have faith that Paramount may take it seriously, and get him written correctly in that upcoming third Sonic movie. I really hope that my opinion about that isn't wrong.
It's interesting how Eggman and everything he does is all a result of the government framing his grandfather 7:19 Never noticed that Amy is just "head empty" in this cutscene with her vacant stare.
One thing you need to know about shadow new shadow is edgy and keeps going about his past old shadow put on big boy pants and moved on from past also he wasnt edgy just did things differently
Soiret->Sonic, they look kinda similar when you spell shadows originally proposed name “Terios”backwards… maybe it’s not even a translation but just a bad reflection 🤔😂
