Motorhead Mark Lester is in the SNOWTRAX TRAIL TECH shop delivering an overview of the ROTAX turbocharger on the 900 ACE Turbo engine. #skidoo #ThatSkiDooFeeling #snowtraxtv www.skidoo.com
Haven’t tried 900 Ace Turbo yet. However 900 Ace Skandic is excellent. Love the SWT 24” track. Beast, meant to pull moose out of Bush. Never needed Hi range yet. The Enduro looks awesome.
lmtada the turbo is in another dimension compared to a naturally aspirated ace. We’re talking slap a 600ace’s power on top of a 900 ace. 60+ more horsepower and easily twice as fast
@@calebm.5698 My pops wants one for his Alaskan ventures. No shitting any draw backs? We mountain ride weekly and he won't upgrade unless it's a skandic... Just trying to get real world exp on it. He guides there and is stuck on Tyne skandic(which i get even being a cat guy myself).
old wrench it’s really not that bad, and after a while it’s unnoticeable. My dad’s turbo has some clutching modification which makes the throttle nice and responsive
I thought the lag was fly by wire lag? Everything I have read says the yamacats actually have more turbo lag because turbo is farther from engine, the ace turbo has less lag because turbo is very tight to the engine. The electronic throttle is the delay in acceleration that is confused as turbo lag. Have I read it wrong?
@@BoysInTheWoodsofPA Throttle lag is the time difference from when you crack the throttle til the engine actually responds. Turbo lag is the time it takes from engine response til boost pressure kicks in. In either case, not something you want when demand is needed now. The throttle ramp up Ski Doo uses in the electronic throttle system is to help mask the throttle lag from the distance the throttle body is from the engine. Due to packaging constraints, the throttle body is not where it needs to be.
@@oldwrench4213 all the fly by wire doo 4 strokes have throttle lag though, it changes from mode to mode but it is there. What I heard is the doo turbo response was faster than yamacat because it was in fact mounted closer to the engine. I been looking at 4 strokes about a year now, just haven't bought one, my 2 strokes are running well at the moment, lag free...
You started this by saying "lag free turbo". Your review of last year's XRS turbo discussed lag or lack of response from the electronic throttle. So as old wrench asked below, is the lag problem resolved for 2020?
People think they know more than they actually know. BRP, who makes recreational vehicles, is it's own separate company that sold in like 2002. Since it sold, it has actually become more valuable than it's parent company, bombardier. Which shows a horrible track record for whoever has been making financial decisions at bombardier lol. But it has nothing to do with ski doo
This one performs and is super reliable..... Backed up by..... Dust and dreams.... So far worst st video I've clicked... Just seems like a whole lot of product placement and no facts to back claims. Get the buy this new car cause it's the fanciest, vibe...
So who is not manufacturing there own turbo??? What's a turbo for besides raw power??? See a lot of aftermarket kits for the doo ace turbo????? Cat did it with there 1100 yammie did it until they made there own cool part is with a factory install they backed it. So doo's now trying but it's not just about raw power??? What is a turbo for then.
I guess I didn't ask if they were junk or not. What I was trying to prove if a person actually knew how many companies have gotten government money. Which by the way is taxpayer money. A person wouldn't buy anything! I myself don't believe in bail out money or welfare money!
