I've already run my kit version on 3S in a super shafty rig with 1800kv Revolver. After a 1300 Mah battery (about an hour) the esc was no more than ambient temperature. Good job John. And yes, it's silent.
What a shocker, sold out (kit ver.) Much like everything else. Just a thought maybe stock up probably first so us mere mortals might on the other end of the world can get a chance to try some of these cool products?
@@HolmesHobbies yes all very true, but for some people its a case of narrowing down what options are out there. It’s great to plug some new tech, but if the tech isn’t there, eyes will look elsewhere for alternatives. I see you now have a uk distributor and that is great, I hope they’ll shall be able to expand on the range they currently have. Till then I’ll keep my eyes out for these allusive shiny tech goodies.
Just got mine yesterday! Can't wait to put it my Element Gatekeeper build! Gonna team it up with your Team Spec revolver!! So much goodness coming up from you, I love it!!👍
@Akoni Ikeda I haven't had any issues with temps, The Esc does get warm on really hot days, so i rigged a small fan that i plug in the receiver. My Element weighs in around 4.5 lbs w/out wheels. I can say that its a KILLER set up for sure!! Motor barely gets warm as well!! You would not be dissappointed!!
@Akoni Ikeda I have, but you can only run a 1400kv motor with it, and gear up with a 19t or 20t pinion. I run a 14t pinon on 3s 1500mah battery's on my Team Spec and have plenty of wheel speed, and get about 2 hours run time.
Bought a CM mini v2 kit from RPP a week back. Got it installed with the 2200kv Revolver. Had to wait for my servos to try overall, but tested out and it was nice and SILENT, which is huge for me. As a bassist and sound engineer, that whine keeps me wincing as I reach for the 18k slider that isn't there. lol Thanks for making a quality item that is acceptable for us audiophiles and old cranky bastards. lol When I got my servos and installed them, I was getting huge glitching. and was a bit perplexed. After a day or two of prodding and poking around, thinking it was a problem in the duel bypass I soldered up, I decided to try another rx, and BAM. All was well in the world. Working perfectly other than it gets pretty warm when I'm doing a slow roll. I see the new firmware available and will be putting that in as soon as the programmer I ordered from Dlux Fab arrives. Heard a few say that solves the heat issue. Hope they're right, I love this combo and have only ran it on my floor for a minute at most.
Interesting I wonder if I can tune my freewheeling programming on my hobbyking. I like the low speed rpm wheel speed lock and release at higher wheel speed on this mini.
I have the Holmes Hobbies dual-BR mini esc for my MoA, running two puller motors. Do I need to remove the red wire from one of the connectors going into the receiver ? shame there is no connection diagram with the kit.
I would compare it to something like an 80 pound flywheel in a jeep in low range in the rocks then the throttle modulation is normal after you get above 10% throttle.
does it have onboard temperature sensor ? If not, i'm guessing that has current monitoring ? Could it potentially be programmed to limit it's own current draw and therefore automatically limit it's power and prevent itself from overheating? That would be super cool. This thing looks awesome!
ESC looks to be amazing. I would like to use it for my lightweight build soonish. But in my area there is a lot of sand, so I'm afraid outrunner motor will die quite soon. It there some lightweight closed can motor you could recommend to use with the CrawlMaster Mini Brushless ESC? Won't there be cogging with PULLER PRO - STUBBY - 2700KV?
I have a question I am looking for an ESC for a shafty crawler like the RC4WD Bully 2 with MOA axes, That means I need two ESC and two motors which combo would be suitable for it?
🤔(WHEN CHOOSING A MOTOR) !!!! ....AND SOME GMADE THOUGHTS.... As long as the new GMADE (GS02F) gears & drivetrain (with overdrive) holds-up to the general use & abuse of my driving style, I think maybe a Revolver might be a great way to take advantage of the (GS02F)'s "gear-slack" that exists in the 2-speed tranny !! 🤔.......cuz with the forward direction [OR] reversing dir. of the gear-slack, or gear catch-up.... I would call it, is where John's REVOLVER MOTOR (might be) a great fit due to the gearing difference, cuz of the (tranny-based overdrive) in 1st gear. So the slow turning of the REVOLVER MOTOR(S), could help "slowly take-up the slack" in the Gmade drivetrain !! ?? (When going from (for. to rev.) OR vice versa). That gear - DIFFERENCE, is 14.29% O.D. (stock)....which takes place while in 1st gear, so the "gear catch-up" (when going in REVERSE) can be a little too much, and I can see how this could potentially be a tranny gear meshing issue, (IF) I were to be hard on my driving operation, from forward to reverse, ✳️BUT more caution WILL BE NEEDED when going from (reverse direction to forward !!!!)✳️ I REALLY THINK EVERY OWNER OF THIS NEWEST GMADE, (THE GS02F) NEEDS TO KNOW THE BENEFITS OF HAVING THIS AWESOME ONE-OFF RC DRIVETRAIN BY GMADE....BUT - MOST IMPORTANTLY, OWNERS & POTENTIAL BUYERS NEED TO KNOW THAT THIS SWEET CRAWLER RIG (IS NOT) TRAXXAS TRX4 TOUGH !!!! - When it comes to a comparison of drivetrain(s)
I got the 2500kv 10p and with the capras gearing, it was getting hot and shutting down. John told me to run the 1800kv revolver, so I got a 1800kv revolver and building it now
May I have question here? When I turned on the transmitter, then connected the ESC power with battery and touched the throttle a little bit to startup, the motor was moving automatically and pushing the car backward continuously. Do you know why? I didn’t mean to pull or push the throttle but the motor was turning by default? Seems I need to adjust the trim(+50) to stop the default setting! Is that normal for the mini ESC? Thanks in advance!
So I just got the vfd trans and was let down when I tried to fit my hw fusion in and it didn’t fit 😢, I’m trying to go for a light weight c1 rig and was thinking of purchasing one of these escs, just wanted to know what would be a good motor to go with this esc and would fit my trans thanks Jhon 🤙🏽
@@HolmesHobbies Awesome thanks for the quick response. I will be sure to get one along with the castle bec for my next scx24 project! Love your products!!
@@HolmesHobbies Thanks for the reply. Am on 50/50 throttle but still nothing. Oddly it works on channel 1 using steering wheel just fine; will try 60 clicks of trim next; I had done 50 but perhaps I didn't go far enough.
Try trim in the other direction if it doesn't work in one. Sometimes you can just grab throttle a few times and it will arm, then you can tune neutral trim till it stops moving
Had the zero trim issue - Discovered throttle at 120% F/R was the issue; once set to 100% F/R and than 60 clicks of trim it engaged perfectly with zero neutral trimming required. Would still prefer the hold throttle on power up to set endpoints on future versions; but now that I've got this nailed down I can work with it. Results were shocking on my two existing revolver V1/V2's. Beyond impressed.
looking for something in particular? Chip shortage has made ESCs hard to get but we have backstock of stuff and are filling the site as fast as possible .
nevermind that weve been making slim/ flat ESCs for crawlers longer than the drone market has been around, or that the crawlmaster hardware is 100% new engineering and not just a flashed wraith32 like other companies are selling (for higher prices than the crawlmaster, ahem).
When the plug and play version, along side being 100% tunable comes out....you will be able to retire to the mountains, and your kids kids kids live in luxury.
