Congratulations on 3k Subscriber’s 🥳 Shame about the servo speed but would be great for some of my heavier crawlers 🤷♂️ Gr8 vid yet again 💪👊🏼💯 Good luck every one 🤞 If I win that note I’m framing it 100%
Just getting into the hobby, nice to see servo testing, I actually looked at that brand when building my truck, went with one of those 35KG amazon special, can't complain.
Thank you for the informative videos I’ve watched multiple...the 35kg servo video and you Sledge videos were very helpful God bless and Good luck with the channel
I've noticed Phil of Tomley RC has been pushing these servos lately because they sent him a bunch. He provides honest reviews imo, but one thing I didn't noticed was how disappointingly slow the movement was, even on 6.4 volts. I wouldn't expect better performance using 8+ volts. After seeing how slow it was, I hoped you'd try it on the higher voltage but, oh well. Thanks for the good review, Kenny. See you back at B & Crashers.
After making the video I tried it on 8.4 volts. It's pretty slow there too. According to their specs there's only a 0.2 seconds difference between the two voltages and the difference isn't really that great. To be honest I fully expected the servo to either be slow or underpower. I've never seen a brushed servo come anywhere near there claimed specifications so I was not surprised at all. I was also disappointed about the lack of waterproofing because even a $25 35kg annimos servo has orings on the screws.
Thanks for the great review. I agree, the servo is plenty strong but it's disappointing how slow it is. I run a Shift RC S2.0 on my other LMT and it's amazing. Fast, durable (20+ packs) and looks darn good. I'd recommend that to anyone with a heavier wallet over this one.
Would love to see 8.4v for real speed. Looking for servo for my custom punisher xtr build curious if speeds would be ok for a much lighter rigg? Keep up the reviews love the channel.
@@DoRC any recommendations? I am doing a custom built Kronos xtr but with some tweaks of my own. Having a custom made bash bar and captured hinge pin braces made out of titanium, basher queen shock towers, every aluminum upgrade offered by corally , custom 7075 bulk head arrma shocks ect want speed but serious tourqe and I trust ur experience with servos. I used a 46kg jx on my exb kraton build with belted trenchers and wasn't enough tourqe. This build will be considerably lighter but appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Hard to go wrong with the power hobby 729. It's a lot of servo for the money. If you want to go cheaper the Amazon 35 kg servos are surprisingly durable. Kind of slow but they get the job done
Most servos from Superior Hobby (JX, Ecoboost, DMOND) are overrated but they're still decent for the price. I still think the JX 46kg is the best bang for the buck that they offer. Love em.
It’s good reviews like these that help me make well informed decisions. Thanks buddy! Are you solely into rc cars and trucks, or do you branch off into aircraft and Heli’s as well? Great video as always
Right now I'm doing surface RC primarily but I was very heavy into fpv for a while. If you look back at my channel I've got a lot of fpv videos there. If you aren't already subscribed be sure to sub for a chance to win :-)
Nice review. I was already skeptical about the specs because 60kg and 0.08s is almost impossible for a coreless motor, it need to be brushless. Could be great if you could check the power somehow, by lifting a weight or something. Great review 👍
Yeah I thought about doing that but for me personally as long as the power is sufficient I'm happy. I don't really care what it's ultimate strength is.
nice servo just need new cars to install them into :) hope to see a game changer or new category sometime soon as a basher there is nothing deserving a change..... a truck with a prop off the centre diff with fall back option that floats to tonking on water would be cool! full send or float home (NOT SINK)
Thanks for the review. As we both suspected, a little over-stated on the specs. Speed is disappointing. Would like to see if 8.4v wakes it up. Maybe a follow-up?
Great review, I just subscribed. Love my LMT they are just so much fun to drive, my best monster truck love it. Great video I’ll be following for more, catch you on the next one peace and chicken grease
Great review. My lmt has killed some nice servos and I am looking for alternatives. This has been in my shopping cart but I’ve been apprehensive about getting it. When the next one gives out I will check back in on the long term durability of this one. Thanks again Kenny!
Looks good but gears seem to be made of soft metal. When I was fixing my JX Ecoboost (gears look very similar) I had to drill a new hole for the pin in 1 of the gears. It was very easy, like drilling in soft plastic 😆 I might want to try AGF servo in the future. Some of their servos have "extra strong patent gears" - I'm curious how much more abuse these would survive than cheap Ecoboost 👊 I like to have my servo saver very tight, sometimes even locked for some jumps 👀
Congrats on reaching 3k subs and more to come. Appreciate the review I have an Xmaxx and looking into upgrading the servo for a much stronger one. This helps me out in what to look for. You have any recommendations?
I'm running the power hobby 760 in mine. So far I've been very happy with it. If you aren't already subscribed forget to subscribe to have a chance to win :-)
Yeah I suppose it depends on what your priorities are. I really like a reasonably fast servo because slow servos make me feel like I'm always trying to play catch up when driving the car. Maybe it's just because I'm used to having fast servos. Anyway thanks for commenting and be sure to be subscribed for a chance to win!
This was a great testing video! Nice to see actual use of a product before considering it. In relation to servos, I've heard the JX ecoboost ones from banggood are pretty durable and very fast. Also a quick question, how do you measure servos? Is there a standard size? Since my 144001 uses a pretty small servo (i think 18g size) and i was wondering if there's some kind of standard now maybe for bigger scale cars. Thanks for the great video!
The vast majority of RC vehicles use what's known as a standard size of servo. That's the size that this servo is and most other servos. They make micro servos and also 1/5 scale servos. But most vehicles will use a standard servo. In that standard servo size though the can length can vary which can affect compatibility on certain vehicles. That being said most standard size servis will be compatible with most vehicles that take standard size of servos. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe if you aren't already subscribed :-)
tough servo for sure but the response time deffinitly decides weather your going to crash incontrolably or not id rather not take my chances destroying my rc unit because of poor reaction timing. thanksfor the review
Bought the used lmt wirh a reefs 500 in it I’ll move over to my big tire truck and I’ll put this one on my fling king truck and maybe run some silicone around the seam for the water since it’ll be a mud truck
Yeah the power is there. I actually was looking at their different servos and they have a brushless version of this that has the exact same specifications listed. I'm guessing the specs they have on this are actually the specs for the brushless one. I've seen videos of it and it seems about as fast as the specifications for this one state. Thanks for commenting and a sub is appreciated!
Another great video! Just not that impressed with this servo. You should give it away, and review the BlueBird BLS-H51B V2 Helical Gear Brushless Servo...
Yeah that was just a short bit of it. I almost always bash it like that. Keep in mind though that there's very little left of that truck that stock. The stock truck would not hold up to that kind of abuse.
Hey bud 3 questions... Where did you buy this servo? Not seeing it on Amazon, also how much was it? And 3rd have you heard of the JX 45kg cls-hv7346 Servo? It's only 59$ and power hobby and others sell it as a rebrand for almost 100$. I might order one for my reeper
I got Mine from pnwrc madness. I think it was 80 bucks. I'm not familiar with that servo. Do you know which power hobby servo rebrands it? I'm a big fan of the power hobby 729
@DoRC Hey buddy I'm sorry I never saw this but those jx servos have been holding up so far. I run the brushless JX 46kg HV servo in my cen reeper and I run the 36kg jx ecoboost in my kraton exb. Both have really good power and speed and are also affordable. They are about $35 and $59 on Amazon. Much faster than what this one shown on here. I definitely recommend. Jx makes really good servos and been running the brand for a long time. If you ever grab one let me know what you think as I'm curious to know your thoughts if you do.
Depends on your busget. The powerhobby 729 is an excellent servo at a decent price. If youre on a really limited budget that 35kg servo i showed in the video is very decent. Not the fastest but pretty durable and powerful. Be sure to sub for a chance to win:)
I got one of these for my lmt and it broke on the first pack lol snapped the snout right off clean. Cant get in contact with the company or find a way to get a replacement one as its an easy fix if the parts existed or someone to talk with lol
just talked with him and he said they are revising the material used in the gears and doesnt have any right now. But at least they are fixing a clear problem iv seen at least 5 other people that had the snout break clean off the top of the servo lol
