Absolutely, I was worried at first for some of the feature-creep. The game table magnet rail system and mount mount look are solid as hell. Personally I'm lazy as fuck and wouldn't ever actually need a sit-stand desk. As a " for the rest of your life" furniture investment..it's beautiful. I'll be honest and say It's not affordable by any means; You can get used high quality lightly used office desks 2nd hand for dirt cheap, from businesses replacing theirs.. I currently have 4 large solid wood + steel base frame office desks that would cost 20 times more then I payed for them.
@@JurrevanHerwijnen True. They could price this moderately and CRUSH their competition, but then they'd get swamped with orders. I get the philosophy behind the business decision - but man it sucks to not have a chance, especially with a $3k minimum. :(
I ve been watching wyrmlyfe for a long time and just now I realized that what makes this company really incredible, is that if they launch they dont launch a product, but a whole series of products. I dont know any other small company who does this, and delivers. They are just insanely good
As a poor uni student this will be something I save up for when I start working next year! This and the doggy bed that doubles as a coffee table, i think that design is just brilliant!
I know it's limited to 5000 spots, and I have a feeling those will all be taken in less than 30 minutes after launch. I also have a feeling that the actual demand will end up being higher than it was for the MGT. So I'll be looking forward to 2 things: 1) when these are put on the store as a standard item 2) when I have the spare money to replace my current piece of junk desk
@@Bitter_Baby According to the Kickstarter page for MGT they are going to open up pre-orders in mid November with fulfillment starting sometime in Q2 next year. So I don't see the MGT become a regular store item til late 2023 if they don't go MGT 2.0 Kickstarter.
@@DavidLeeKersey maybe I just don't understand Kickstarter... But I don't understand why, after fulfilling their original orders, they don't then shift over to selling from their website. The update you mentioned had a section about a fast pass tier: Fast Pass Tier Includes the original selection of woods, sizes, and accessories, at original prices. New accessories that have been developed will also be available So, is this something people who missed the original Kickstarter can jump into? If that's so then again, why not just open sales on their website?
The Padauk is such a beautiful desk. I really love Purpleheart as a wood but that Padauk is just the perfect combination with the black base and modern accessories such as the speakers and monitor. If you have silver accessories I can see the Wenge standing out.
@@staceygram5555 it really is a shame because fresh padauk is gorgeous. i hear there are some woods that retain color a little better (e.g. bloodwood) that are more expensive. if I were gonna drop a few grand on one of these desks I would go full monty for something like bloodwood. I would be pissed dropping money for the padauk if I didn't know how much the color would darken and desaturate.
As someone who owns some Paduk items from the WW team, I will say mine has lasted good for a few years, a big thing for Paduk is minimizing direct sunlight on it, even the little card that came with mine mentioned that tip.
It is SO awesome following your channel and getting to watch something start from an idea and follow it all the way through to the launch. The desk is beautiful and I wish I could afford it. You guys are extremely talented, keep up the amazing work!
For a company heavily focused on the wood - not the mention the whole "furniture for life" aspect - I think it would be a nice feature to be able to see what the different species look like not only when new, but also when aged. Padauk, for example, loses almost all of its red-orange color and turns brown. I think customers would like to know what they get, not just when it gets delivered, but in a few years time.
yeah it'd be hard on some of the more recent products since they literally haven't had time to age, but with some of the older stuff they should be able to show off some shots. and hell, with padauk you can literally just put it outside in the sun for a few days to simulate what it will look like after a few years of indoor light exposure. they've already done some wyrmlife content that referenced cherry aging, I think it would be great to have at least one bigger production (similar to this video) that just goes over aging for all of their mainline woods. If I'm gonna drop thousands on a piece that I'll have for life I want to know what it's going to look like in a year/5 years/10 years. woodworkers might know what this stuff will look like, but not everyone who drops money on wyrmwood is going to know. seems like it would be a good way to avoid any controversy from clients. if I didn't know padauk would age into a dark brown, dropped $5k on a piece of padauk furniture, waited a few years to receive it, and then a few years later it looked COMPLETELY different than what I thought I was buying, i'd be quite frustrated.
Cubby area idea: PC holder mount. This way your cables goes up with your desk and you don't need to keep your big box on the surface or forget about the lifting mechanism. For me it's kind of a deal breaker feature.

the fact that the cubbies cant hold a desktop means everyone will either need to buy new cables or have the PC on the desk itself. Both are not great options

These are some of the best looking, most functional desks I have ever seen! If I ever win the lottery, or get good at saving, I'll buy all the wyrmwood furniture.

Dimensions of the optional cubbies and the overall min/max height with the lift mechanism would also be helpful. The length & width of the desks were mentioned extremely briefly in the video, but nothing else.
Is there a chance we can get dimensions of everything? How tall the desks are when fixed, raised/lowered, how wide and deep the desk is? I've got a crappy monitor platform I'd like to replace but I don't see any dimensions for it on the configurator.

I now fully understand and back the idea behind the desk. Its not starting the pricing at each desk at 3K but the minimum amount of work at 3K (which makes more sense from a stand point of a consumer. This is absolutely a beautiful kick starter. The only question I have: What is the cost of the shipping roughly? Also pleased that you can use the accessories for it. Though I would love to buy one of the headphone jacks for Modular Table.
They said in a previous video that they plan to make the headphone stand and game controller holder available for purchase by themselves sometime soonish.
I can't imagine that shipping will be cheap given the size of the desk and the fact that it's solid wood. But given that cheapest desk is like $1700 with no/few accessories you could probably get your desk and cover your shipping cost with that $3k buy in. As long as you're a minimalist and don't live in like, Alaska or somewhere.

Beautiful desks!! I'm a little sad that there's no space for a keyboard tray though. It would be nice if that's an option in the future. As an artist with carpel tunnel, I would not be able to use these gorgeous desks without having severe hand pain
Great desk. Can't afford it. Will there be an accessory only tier so I can grab a couple of things for my MGT? Or perhaps will all of these accessories also be available in the MGT accessory tier that's opening up soon?
The design of the desks and the visualizer is so well done, major kudos guys. Too bad I can't come anywhere close to affording one of these at the moment (and anyway I don't have anywhere to put it). Are they intended to eventually be a permanent on-demand modular like the MGT? Because I will definitely start saving if that's the case.
Okay, so I just tried the Modular Desk Configurator. It was super fun! I do have 1 thing that bothers me though. I would really like the option to have one large cubbie next to a small one on the XL frame. You currently have to choose to either have 2 large cubbies or 2 small cubbies. I understand that from a manufacturing standpoint, this is ideal, with them sharing a center wall and all, but I'm just a super fidgety person when I'm sitting. I think the smaller cubbies are best for people who move their legs a lot or cross them or whatever. I just think it would be cool to have the best of both worlds. Both the extra space (with a large drawer set further away from you) and the space to move more freely (with a small drawer set closer to your sitting space). Maybe it could be an idea for future ad-ons? After the kickstarter is complete and the product goes live on the website? Just a thought. I do adore the product otherwise and legit want one.
Being your a company that employs close to if not over 100 people. I can understand the price but watching the desk builder and seeing over 9k for a desk thats fully kitted out....DAMN
Its such an odd company. They market to gaming nerds which historically are students or younger people in general but yet some how manage to sell the most ridiculously expensive products and accessories. Like $70 for a mug holder?!

The whole desk system is awesome, but some prices are kinda high. A normal shelve board is 49$. That's a bit high, for just a flat (OK the dips have to be cnc'd ) piece of wood. Would be nice if you could collaborate with a manufacturer in Europe in the future. You know there are gamer here too?

Sooooooo, I absolutely love the products that Wyrmwood makes, I'm currently waiting on my table (Backer #84, but I'm international so I keep getting bumped back) as well as a full Wenge GM Screen setup. But the pricing on these desks is out to lunch. I built basically the same extra large desk as the one in the video, just with drawers on the right hand side instead of a shelf and door, and it was $8300 USD. What the ****? That is too damn much. It costs more than my entire Black Walnut Table with 5 Player Desks, a Game Deck, Topper, Topper Block and 14 accessories AND Wenge GM Screen with the Dice Tower and Storage Tower COMBINED (INCLUDING SHIPPING). Guys, I know Dale said you weren't charging enough, but I think you went off the deep end in the price change
So with the buy in being $3000 and the retail being $1750, what happens if a backer wants their customized desk to be between $2250 to $2500? What would be done with that extra money?
So with this being a limited backer kickstarter, are there plans to produce these in the future? I'm not able to do a $3000 in the next few months, but I'd be happy to start putting some savings towards this.
Gotta say that while the charger looks dope, it doesn't seem that practical. You gotta charge the charger first, then charge your phone with it? Seems like adding an extra step and lots of unneeded time

this is the best looking thing wyrmwood has ever designed. Its unfortunate that I'm a broke student. Definitely getting one when I have a steady income if wyrmwood will ever do a second kickstarter or sell them on the website.
I'm glad the Mount Mount has finally been shown with a decent amount of weight on it. I wonder if those three monitors are as much as a 49" and a heavy monitor arm?

Made a desk and ended up around $5500. As much as I'd love a new, big desk, I think I need to adult (boooo) and be better with my money for now. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this though!
This will be the first one in a while that I can't justify backing (unless an accessory tier opens up). I have an 8ft desk, but damn, these look so incredible. If this was available when I was building my insane desk during the pandemic, I probably would have just gone in this direction. Any chance you'll have a tier after the 5k sell out for people who just want those sweet accessories? If you ever sold a magnetic rail attachment for other "inferior" desks, I'd snap it up so hard. Might just have to build my own rail just so I can scoop up some of those snazzy addons. Where was the Mount Mount™ a couple years ago when the Elgato light was sold out? Lol. The desk staging is 10/10. Fantastic job, as always.
Here’s hoping. I’m curious to see if/how the big ticket items make it to a ‘purchase on demand’ model. If the volume is high enough it’d work fine, but if the demand is lower they may need to batch up and do production runs at certain times of the year to get efficiencies of scale. One thing for sure though, they need to get a ‘modular accessories’ section of their on demand store up so people can buy more cup holders, trays, etc without having to jump on a Kickstarter and wait 4-16 months for them.

I make $35/hour, I can normally easily afford this even without all the overtime I usually work. Kinda stupid of you to assume my financial situation and that I can't afford it just because I'm not willing to back the Kickstarter at the current moment in time.

Hey, just an idea, how about having wire clamps/organizers that work with the magnetic rail feature? Could be simple enough to design(IE not a rising game space on the gaming table), extra product that both this and the gaming table could use, and would be a cheaper option on than the wire cabinet organizer that you currently have. It could also be used on the side of the desk as a holder for charger wires, desktop wires, or anything else anyone could think of using it for. Just an idea to think about, I'd love to have something like that.
What are the internal dimensions of the side cabinets? I've got a small printer I might try and fit in there. Can't wait to place my order regardless...
Hopefully the desk will have general availability in a year or two. My current place is to small, but once I get my degree I should have a much larger space.
The desks are so beautiful and the presentation video was excellent, but unless I can find a way to get industrial strength casters on that base I can't really do one. I wouldn't even know where to start.

These desks look amazing. 2 questions and a thing. 1. What's the internal diameter the large cup holder and the mug holder? -I'm trying to figure out if my 32oz hydro flask with a diameter of 3.55" will fit in the big cup holder or if I'll need the mug holder, you guys included specs for the mount mount and the mount plate but not for the other accessories. 2. What is the power output of the wireless charger, both via the cable and wireless charging? - Most chargers, wireless or not, can keep my phone alive but they do not increase the charge. I think that's an issue with the Pixel 6 Pro but it's making me check the specs on all my chargers. A Thing: The visualizer is great, but on an ultra wide monitor I have to shrink the window to the left or right half of my screen to be able to see the top and bottom of the UI, and if you zoom out in your browser the desk will disappear into the distance and not come back until you refresh, even after resetting the zoom level. Again, you guy's do beautiful work. Thanks!

3 things.. 1. Production quality on this is immaculate. 2. I love how this will casually be a 15 million usd kickstarter, not including any backers that just get a handful of accessories. and 3. I sure do hope you phone ahead to Kickstarter for the impending ddos you're going to unleash on their platform for those 5000 spots.
@@erickj4384 I think they price everything abit higher since they got their expensive AF prophecy(its a great centerpiece and everyone can see it). But they increase all their other prices just because of it. A desk sits in a private room and is only view by like 1-2 people and animals all the time. Like a basic cherry desk with cubbies and cable management is over 2½ months of my paychecks. So prophecy prices bleed into everything else.
Well, sad it doesn’t ship to where I live, maybe in the future once it’s a full product I might be able to get one... guess i just need to start saving then

The new visualizer looks great in the video, but seems to struggle on mobile, wont load and crashes on an iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOs 16. Any chance of a low tech just catalog of prices with static pictures?

I don't get why they haven't set up their own website instead of using Kickstarter at this point. They have the resources to create their own personal crowdfund website and 1) they wouldn't have to share their income with Kickstarter 2) they might be able to lower the prices for their customers yet make the same amount of money 3) Wyrmwood and their customers would stop funding Kickstarter, which is good because Kickstarter is a terrible company run by terrible people.
Beautiful, definitely. As much as I want to get one (or two in reality - his/hers), just can't swing that priceline right now. I hope these get added to the website in the future, so they can be ordered outside this Kickstarter. Was thinking that might have happened with the modular table, but alas only the Prophecy (good thing I was able to do the table Kickstarter). Again, looks awesome though.
You say the cost of the desk starts at 1750 but the average should be 3000. What if the desk we want is less than 3k? Can we pledge the 3k and get refunded once our order is official? Or do we have to wait until the kickstarter is completed and this goes on the website or something?
Nevermind... I just used the configurator (great job with that btw) and unless you want the most basic desk ever, then you're probably spending more than 3K anyway. 3K honestly seems like a low number for "average". I've said it before, these look beautiful and exactly what I would want, but way out of my price range. Its disappointing because I was hoping it would be more affordable like the table was, but it feels closer to a prophecy than the MGT.
