I have a N/A that has been sitting for 5 years. Interior is in near perfect condition with only one of the buttons for the a/c missing. Still works great. Was passed down from my father's coworker to him, then to me. Dad didn't work on it much, but the oil pan is filthy covered in oil because of a leak (Oil pan leak), and the valve cover gasket has a leak also. Working on getting the money to get everything cleaned and fixed, it is my first car and I am trying to really hold onto it and get it fixed. Just got it a new transmission because the old one had no reverse and was starting in high gear. Hopefully everything should be coming together in terms of maintenance, 120k maintenance was taken care of for me when it was passed down from my dad. I love this car, I am learning everything I can with the time I have off as much as possible. Oh yeah, the interior is black leather with no tears in the seats what so ever, surprisingly not damaged from being left outside for 5 years. I don't know the details, but I don't think it had much sun exposure. :)

It pays to look for a stock car. Only thing I've done to my 96 TT (18k original miles/owner) is exhaust and air filter. Everything else is original, and I BABY it the few times a year I drive it. Biggest thing I'd look in a used car is the cosmetic items, which can get seriously expensive, if they're even available any more.

If the gas gauge icon doesn’t have an arrow then it’s not telling you what side it’s on. It’s only there to show it’s your gas gauge. Some cars have a small arrow and points to what side the gas tank is on.

The button you said that does the suspension set up is the button that folds my mirrors in....or out, but i think only 1993 onwards had adjustable suspension set up in Europe anyway.

Yea I bought an NA AT one and it turned out I trusted the previous owner way too much. No oil or any of the serpentine belts but gladly managed to make it to my dad's mechanic shop where we're fixing it on the weekends. Oh it has a busted crank seal and there's oil ALL OVER THE ENGINE BAY.

Surface rust in certain areas of a car left unchecked will develop into rust holes especially around windscreen and any other areas that are hard to get to such areas are of course moisture traps as for the interior it looks like a dog has had fun chewing things to bits.

Great video. Very thorough. In 2023 what would you expect to pay for a 300zx in good condition. I’m looking at a couple with just over 100k miles. Prefer a red but I’m seeing white and black in my area.

Hey Danny! I’ve been looking at this TT 300zx unfortunately it is automatic BUT it has all it’s maintenance records and its a second owner car. ( older guy ) Its for the right price and from the right person too. Should I pull the trigger? Would a automatic to manual swap be difficult to do? Would it be hard to source a TT trans?

I've owned my '90 na since 2012. It has 126k. Its blue w blue leather and in excellent condition. In 2019 after moving to Colorado i experienced 2 hit and runs, the first took out the driver side front fender and facia signal, side marker and washer fluid bottle, the 2nd took out front bumper. Both while i was shopping. Love the car, but man I hate leaving it alone when I go out. That said, after the last hit, I parked it, and bought an FJ Cruiser, but I miss driver her. I'm currently shopping for a JDM front, and when its done I'll be happy.

Discontinued OEM fuel lines, vacuum lines, fuel pump, gas tank. You have the old fuel rail only good for 550cc injectors. Rust usually means your cars repainted over rust. Primer absorbs water, and people who can't paint don't know this. So they drive around with primer getting rained on. And rust grows under the primer if it gets wet. You must paint a car in 48 hours after sanding metal. Wet sanding is also a NO NO on metal. Even fiber glass will absorb water if you wetsand. Good luck resealing your oil pan gasket at 120k miles, got to pull the engine. Also if your VIN does not say it is a twin turbo the resale on a base model 300ZX is about the same as a 3000GT even with a twin turbo eng engine swap. So save yourself some money and buy a real twin turbo if you want to dump money into a 300ZX. Engine swaps are illegal if inspected. A 3000GT base model is better than a 300ZX base model. Same heads as a VR4 except cams are different on the 3000GT, same rods, and crank as VR4, except different pistons. The 300ZX vase model engine is completely different than the VG30DETT.
