First of all, let me say that I enjoy your videos a lot, probably in the top three RU-vidrs for me. I see some fishermen work the jig slower and, in this video, you are working it faster. my question is, why are you working it faster and what's the difference? I have fished fresh water for 40 years, but since I've moved to Lilian, inshore brackish water fishing is kicking my butt..lol. any advice is greatly appreciated. thank you and keep up the great content.
I appreciate that, glad to be in the top 3 💪🏻 and it’s all personal preference. I have friends that work their lures half as fast as me and catch the same amount of fish. (Maybe less) lol but I just feel like I can cover more area working mine fast and the flounder have less time to look at the bait and decide if that’s what they want to eat…so they just react as soon as it comes across their face
Hey Cap, you’re killing me releasing those flatties! I’m dreaming of stuffing another but need to catch one, and there you are catching them at will! Thanks for putting them back for hacks like me, LOL!
We actually have a jubilee here in south ms...from what i understand its just not as predictable as it is in mobile bay.....from the looks of it tho it should be any day between now and a month from now hahaha
Hey Capt. Collier, good to see you out again. I want to tell you that I sincerely appreciate your stance on conservation of these fish. I watch some people on You Tube videos that keep every single fish and some just barely legal. I know it's hard to pitch back a keeper flounder but if you got plenty in the freezer, let'em go.
Capt., you got it going on!! I love flounder season!! Use to live in houston, ideal to go to galveston and fish flounder. Now, I live in East Texas. Nothing but the piney woods. I guarantee you, I will go back to fish them flatties!! Great video ma man. Tight lines never stop!!!
Capt., I enjoy watching your videos very much. You explain everything very well. I lived on Dauphin Island when I was kid. I became friends with a family and I was wondering if you are kin to them or know them. Mr. Kermit Collier. He had four sons. Kermit jr, Barry, Timmy, and Rodney. Barry was my hero. As a kid he took a ton time teaching me how to fish. He was such a good guy. He even made me a cast net to fit me. Made me so happy. I caught tons of fish with it in bay. I kept it for years and brought it back to MS. when we moved back. We lived behind golf course and he worked on course so he would pick me up and let me ride in golf 1 cart and put out sprinklers. I live in Natchez Ms now. My name is Max Montgomery. Keep up the good work
Capt. Collier, that was sure fun to watch. Loved the demonstration of the up and down lure technique. After hearing the last Alabama saltwater fishing report, great to see it in action and will be adding that to our flounder arsenal. Love your videos and appreciate the conservation mindset!
Probably the best content I've seen on flounder fishing! Hard to beat that texas eye jig head. I really like the Zman PadderZ (prefer in houdini). Great video!! 👏👍
Man I appreciate it, glad you liked it. And yes, that Texas eye is pretty much all I use now. I don’t go through near as many jig heads since I’m not getting snagged near as much
Subscribed! Good fishing brother. Hitting topsail island NC for opening week of flounder season this year (we get a very small window) Appreciate seeing techniques from different areas.
When I saw the dog bridge pop up I was in the middle of asking you if you caught any trout in there and you literally caught a speck before I could finish my comment
Awsome video as always. Lets do a buddy boat 70 plus miles for yellowfin. Did you see bamasaltwaters sick 70 miles offshore video he posted? Im dowm for a buddy boat ride lol.
These were average size for our area but yes we are fortunate to have an abundance of them. A few years ago we were probably in the same boat as y’all. Very few around
How far into the bay do these flounder get? I’ve been trying to get into flounder fishing I’m from gulf shores but I’ve never really targeted them much
Only asking bc I’m not sure you mentioned it… were you on a muddy bottom or sandy bottom at the beginning of the video? Looks muddy to me. Love your videos man!
I have a question for you see I quit pushing the hook through b oth lips be when you put hook through both they can't breathe my question is am I wrong
I heard you say 12" inches for flounder but I see you corrected it with a 14" notation at the top of the screen. The Alabama tax man doesn't need any help giving out citations. Great video. I see you need a deckhand though.
