You will never convince me that there was a better way to spend my $100. Donating to charity and getting some recognition for a really cool archetype at the same time? Yeah, I’m satisfied
Ah yes, Evil Eye or how to make an archetype revolve around one equip card and make it not awful, I'm honestly surprised how good it can be, it has bouncing, mind controlling, negation, destroying and banishing monsters, if at full support they will be a powerhouse in duel links but even now they are decent, just remember that Selene is mandatory, too many burn themselves down to 0
i defeated an evil eye player like that i was able to hit them to get them to the 400 LP threshold and then managed to resist until they burnt themselves out... literally
@@Thepokedek tbh i dont even think they suffer for only having the one REAL playable monster. its a protect the castle (or in this case the Ruler) style of play which is great and as long as u keep one of ur main trio on the board and can keep selene in circulation it becomes a matter of just having to kill them before u burn yourself out. and with the help of gorgoneio they are able to get a LOT of damage on board. what the deck needs is a way to stop its opponent from comboing off and it could take some games against some meta decks
I still say this archetype got dropped way to early and need another wave or two of support to make them a little more viable. I love the idea behind them and how the play with a protect the castle and resource management play to them.
I would say add 3 more familiar monsters, 2 trap, and 1 more link. For the Familiars since the 1st 2 do grave set-up and recovery. Make 2 of the new 3 do field set-up and retreat. While the last familiar acts as a hand trap for field protection. With all 3 Familiars having on theme special summons like the original 2. With the 2 traps: one can be another retribution but for monster effects, while the 2nd is for card recovery. Lastly the new link monster will be a link 3 (reversed arrows of Zerriel) whose effect will be interruption and whose cost will be ATK/DEF. There's some good support ideas for Evil Eye.
We just got new equip spells (dark claw) and equip spell support announced. And if you watched closely, we got a new trap card in BACH. But most importantly: We still haven't seen Selene herself yet, just her jewelry....
@@dogmatika7 if youre talking about imprudent intrusion, id hardly call that support, even with evil eye being in the artwork. that card is utter trash. and what equip spells are you talking about? i cant find anything on dark claw
Power Of The Guardians is kind of nutty for this deck since you could get enough spell counters with a few attacks. And then if you have to blow up your only monster, you can remove a counter to protect your monster. Another equip is Mordschlag if you equip it on to a Medusa or Serziel that you normal summoned out and is equiped with Selene. This debuff's the attack of your opponents monster's attack if you attack it or if attacked. I used this awhile back. And it worked pretty well.
As someone who use POTG a lot it works better in Lyrilisc, Lunalights, and Benkei focused decks. As decks with multi-attacks make POTG a players nightmare. Now Mordschlag that is a good one.
Unfun fact: EE Confrontation always destroys, only to banish it after if you control Selene, so against a Mystic Mine with a field barrier or Necrovalley with their fusion out, Confrontation does nothing.
Evil Eye is one of my favorite decks in Yugioh . Their power does comes at a great cost. You'll literally be pushing your luck trying see how powerful you can make them while trying to intimidate your opponent with a massive atk boost. Not only you're battling your opponent, you're battling yourself and time. 100% risky and 100% rewarding if you know how to used them correctly. Great video!!!
I've been messing around with Branded Evil Eye and the Kaiju problem is kinda solved depending on the player because most people I've played against Kaiju the Mirrorjade over any Evil Eye plays. Also sending Catoblepas off of Branded Fusion is an easy way to get protection for Selene
One of the most underappreciated and interesting archetypes in my opinion! Also I’m so excited because we are almost at 30 K and you know what that means!!!
As a newbie to this yugioh stuff, Evil Eye was one of the first decks I made. I was draw into the so INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS diabolical theming, and when I got my hands on archetype, I actually really liked playing them! I can say however, I was/am 100% garbage at the game, but they still have a special place in heart :')...they're the tiny parasitic creature absorbing my life force in exchange for granting me average human strength and intelligence.
I am planning to return to yu-gi-oh! after so many years and because I have been watching the anime queen’s blade the evil eye and my favourite character queen Aldra uses an evil eye I think you can guess what deck am making.
During the early days of me playing Duel Links, this archetype carried me quite well through the lower ranks. Unfortunately, big number go up doesn't always cut it. Worse, Gaia was introduced into the game shortly after. Still, gotta show some love for this archetype (plus the algorithm gods).
Never heard of the Evil Eye Archetype so this was pretty cool to learn about and am so interested if there is Lore/Story behind the Archetype. Also I don't know why but watching this I was reminded of the Witchblade artifact for some reason.
I run this deck and I love it. Love to experiment with this deck because of its versatility. It can be a control deck, a straight beat down deck, a stun deck. If you do decide to use armory call some equips worth splashing in : moon mirror shield for catoblepas or basillius and also mage power. I’ve gotten to use one of them as an easy 3000+ beat stick with mage power and if you already have catoblepas’s blessing on your evil eye of Selene, you’re opponents not gunna have a good time. Also love the choice in background music. Forbidden memories had a banger OST.
Ah Evil Eye, I had a lot of fun playing this in Duel Links. Supposedly, it was the reason Storm had to get limited, since you didn’t care too much about destroying your own spells.
I tested a lot with evil eye on nexus. A good combo for medusa in evil is soul absorption and necroface x3. As when Medusa's mandatory effect triggers you can banish face which triggers its effect banishing. And if you do this while Absorption is on the field that 5500 (500 for Necroface, 2500 for 5 of your banished cards, and another 2500 for your opponent's 5 banished cards) extra life points to spend on Selene later. And if you do manage to keep one copy of Necroface you can do it all over again since Necorface's on summon effect shuffles all banished cards back into the decks.
bruh i have used this deck without the suggestions and was able to bully a vampire archetype user, yeah it was on master dual but god damn the satisfaction of watching my opponent struggle to get a grasp on the field is beautiful at it's finest.
After coming back to this video and playing with this deck have to say. It's still one of my favorites but it needs some more support more extenders and floaters. It's very hard to recover from being kaiju'd or lava golem'd. Also more ways to float the spells and traps and just more traps in the deck as well. Honestly it has potential to be one of the strongest control tower monster decks.
one thing that could work is having zerziel the link 3 point to serziel the one that dstroys 1 monster the reason is on your standby you can use zerziel to negate the destruction effect then link summon with serziel
That’s because you need to surround it with counter traps and floodgates like summon limit and rivalry of warlords and cost activating counters like red reboot and solem strike. For control play mesmerism and crackdown. For spell/trap removal play confrontation and TT for ignition to pop your own field spell which offers recursion. Token generator cards like Scapegoat helps with link climbing and stalling. Triple copies of all EE equips and the EE field spell. And triple copies of all monsters. Eldlich, yes, him, Serziel, Medusa, Cato and Basilius and you have a mighty fine deck
Been playing the same deck and haven’t changed anything with it. It’s very powerful, and the synergy with Eldlich is perfect. I’ll even throw you another tip. Get Future Fusion to summon the Eldlch Fusion. Bury two copies of Eldlich to fulfill requirements. Once summon you can even pop Future Fusion because the Eldlich Fusion can’t be destroyed by card effects and Future Fusion states if the card is destroyed u need to destroy the fusion. So with that being said not only you mill two Eldlich, but if your opponent doesn’t respond by the 2nd standby phase it’s quite. You have a 3800 beat stick plus two edliches in the grave to not only summon, but also to sacrifice to steal your opponents monsters and it keeps on going. Your opponent would need to play a lot of spell and trap removal, a lot of graveyard removal and a lot of spell negates to stop my deck entirely
I keep forgetting this archetype exists. I loved it in Duel Links. With full support is it viable in Master Duel? I've had a few problems getting into archetypes only to see them not be viable in this point in the game as a whole
From what I saw it kinda is, look for decklist on youtube and see if that convinces you, I buyed Evil twins bc I think that their gameplan is pretty good and I can work with that, that should be enough.
I wonder, what other Sorts of Fiends could you add to this deck to help with the consistency of it?! Cause it’s obvious that Evil Eyes don’t really restrict you to their Own theme all that much, and it’s more than likely some alternative options.
I've enjoyed splashing some Unchained occasionally The only Field lock Evil Eye has is the Token generator, but Unchained has more Fiend locks The red twin binning a facedown gorgoneio to get the search effect going And Serziels cost of destroying your card turns into at least neutral if you destroy an Unchained card
As the other reply side, the only main Friends that really mesh seem to be Unchained, but don't forget to look elsewhere. I used to have some decent success working in Artifacts to turn Serziel's backlash effect into a boon as it allows me to keep activating the powerful Artifact effects on opponent's turn, so those Fairies work pretty well too
Great video!! Love this channel. By chance do you have a dragonmaid video? I was looking through the archives and playlist wasn’t sure if I glossed over it or not
Keep in mind that for Serziels destroy effect, it can destroy itself when equipped with Selene, and becayse it can't be destroyed, you can get over the downside that way
By your opponents card effect, not by yours so it doesnt work. An alternative that works speciallh with new support is summoning udf, and having serziel pop udf. Because usf cant be deatroyed, period by you or your opponent. The detriment is nullified.
I actually only really use Serziel mostly and he wins games. I sometimes go into the links when I can and big boss monsters are out. FEAR THIS DECK! 😈👁
Hmm. My friend built Evil Eyes for fun in Master Duel, and, looking at Serrziel, I'm wondering how she'd work as part of a small Evil Eyes engine in Unchained. Edit: I really need to wait until the tech options section before posting these kinds of comments. Hahaha
So, I don’t think I knew that the one Norma Spell could SS FROM THE DECK. I played Evil Eye for a bit, but I never used that effect once. I feel super dumb.
Yeah. Cards that work better with specific cards can be tricky from time to time. Had to do a lot of practice with EEs to realize what it could really do.
Hey I got a funny idea what if the Unchained twins worth in evil twins in the two people from the evil eye archetype are trying to get those 4 to get together you might be saying you might unlock chains the eye of the viewers 😜
Man I love this archetype but it really feels like they came alittle to early and needed alittle more time in the oven. As their are now their just to slow, and their cool gimmick can also be a downside when compared to the other decks floating around. Nor is there the relevant "generic support" to fall back on for help due to how restrictive they can be. Just wish Konami would take another look at them. These guys came out at the same time as infinitracks of all things.
Your way of narrating is so annoying I just found put your channel and i really liked your videos on the "explained archetypes" (bc all you really do is read the cards with minimal game strategy) But i just cant finish the video it's not for me these over the top comments are too much for me and you do them too often
