I would just like to give a huge thank you to this video and walk me through the exact same engine which I thought was very lucky and walk through the impeller replacement so I did it in about two and a half hours a little WD-40 on the rubber part when you put in your back together help tremendously other than that I really appreciate the video
Working 2 jobs , she said in video. But like lot of husband / wife RU-vidrs . When one stops being in videos, channel suffers . I have seen channels go from posting videos several times a week. Build channel up with commuted subscribers and then say they backing off , maybe down to 1 video a week to 1 a month and stop all together. Life happens .
Hey - this isn't the boat I want to see... I mean, it's cool that you shared replacing the water impeller with us - but I'm eager to see the cabin cruiser. Growing up, my Grandpa had a Cabin Cruiser - 32 ft. Favorite destination in the summer! We learned to water ski, fish/crab and generally had a great time. It had 2 huge diesel engines, and Poppop kept them tuned to perfection. He eventually came to the conclusion though, that such a boat is nothing more than a big hole in the water that you pour money into. We grandkids thought about it differently. Of course, we never saw a list of boat expenses. Ever since I've been curious about just how costly it is to keep/maintain one of those things. So... yeah, I hope you share THAT boat with us. Glad to see you back to uploading... sort of missed you for a while there.
I had one of those motors. Years ago. I bought it at garage sale for 45 dollars. It had a newer lower unit in it and ran great. I ended up selling with a small boat i had. That was a mistake. Thanks for the sharing
Just wanted to add for those watching to maybe help a little. 1. A little dawn dish liquid makes the impeller fit in the cup easier. 2. A dab of grease will hold the key to the driveshaft to make it easier for the impeller to slide in position. 3 a little dawn will lube the water tube and make it slide on easier. 4 as someone posted the cup needs some glue to secure it in the housing. I just use a little silicone. Hasn't done any damage and hasnt came loose but use at you own discretion. 5 a little grease around the splines on the driveshaft helps keep the mating area with motor from sticking. DO NOT put grease on the very top of the driveshaft. That will cause a vacuum effect and make it harder to remove nextime. I just came here to see the reassemble order of o-rings.
Hi! Awesome job on the channel. If I can just add my 2 cents cause I go hunting in a shallow mucky creek and go through the same issue often. It’s to use a compressor and blow out the water lines and jackets as you have the lower unit off. Just cheap insurance.
That cup that resides inside the housing requires a special glue to hold it in place. If that cup spins, your motor could starve for water as there is only 1 small water outlet that has to be in place with the water tube
