Not really, it was a poor effort by Team Ninja, especially the vanilla release of the game. Even the content they did rather generously add later on (I'm being sarcastic in case you were wondering) wasn't anything mind blowing and it would cost you like $1,000 or something to get it all. All the stages look very flat, very low res and very low polygon count. Look at the Japan street stage and compare it to how it looked in the much older DOA 3 just as an example. Still fun to watch though, but by no means underrated, probably where it deserves to be right now.
@@Daniel-Rain-YT That's a bold statement and probably not correct, there are better fighters on the market. Just off the top of my head and I'm not even necessarily a big fan of some of these games, it's just not very hard to beat DOA5: Tekken 6 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Tekken 7 Dragonball Fighter Z Gulty Gear Xrd Sign If you want to go even older I'll drop in Virtua Fighter 5 Final showdown. Heck, I'll even pit a Dead or Alive game against another Dead or Alive game and say Dead or Alive 4 was infinitely better than this one and it's not even my favourite one of the series.
@@Longlostpuss Tekken has always been overrated tbh, Tekken 7 has awful textures and animations compared to DOA5LR (and T7 is newer, it can't even beat an old videogame lol), that terrible juggling simulator is nowhere near DOA at all, the only reason why Tekken sells is because of it's undeserved popularity, Dragon Ball Fighter Z the game where who makes the longer combo wins is not better as well and it lacks defensive mechanics, there's no real depth competitive wise, 3 vs 3 a la marvel vs capcom gets boring after a while and it's also 2D, you can't really compare the two games in the first place, Same with Guilty Gear lol, none of the games you mentioned is better than DOA objectively speaking.
@@Daniel-Rain-YT DOA used to be a very strong fighting game franchise, but I'm afraid you are simply picking your battle here with exactly the wrong entry. DOA 5 was the weakest one of the series. Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate remains the king of the DOA games. Heck, I'd take vanilla DOA 2 over DOA 5 any day of the week. Even DOA Dimensions on the Nintendo DS was better. I honestly don't know where your obsession with this particular one comes from, but hey, no accounting for tastes as they say.
It's great to finally put a face to the legendary Rikuto. Being a Bayman player, I've always known of him. I've even witnessed him play many times. Never knew what he looked like.

Hi can someone help me with a dead or alive issue? I played the ps3 version in 2021. I moved over the PS4 version 2023. I decided to go back to the ps3 version for the heck of it and started noticing I get “disconnected from the lobby messages “ like every 10-20 online matches. Even if I’m just waiting in the lobby without fighting anyone. I still get them to this day. I never had these issues 2021 when I first played the ps3 version. But 2023 is when I first started getting these messages like crazy. On the ps4 version I get them too but not as much. My ps4 also had hard drive problems. My ps3 didn’t have hard drive issues. So I recently got ps5 slim and started playing the ps4 version of dead or alive and I just now noticed I get the disconnected from lobby messages as often as I get them on the ps4. I just want to know how come I’m getting these messages now but not before in 2021? Is it related to bad servers? Did the servers get worse in that 2 year gap? I tried connecting my game consoles to wired connected instead of wifi but that didn’t change anything either. Is it just bad servers? I just want to make sure my ps5 doesn’t have a bad hard drive or anything. I literally just bought it. Can anyone help? Is it really just bad servers and nothing I can do to fix it and my hard drive is fine on my brand new ps5?
Very glad this vid exists. Happy to watch a fairly recent DOA5 tournament. But holy freaking crap, Rabies, dude, please chill or something. I'm done watching after the first match. There are some people that bring the hype, but Rabies is, sorry to say, annoying.
Always played Bayman/Leon. Even the best opponents can only hope for a game of paper/rock/scissors chance of winning at best, when these characters are pressing (read on the rampage)
